Sometimes life feels like a big conflicting mess. The inner voices chattering, arguing amongst themselves. What is right? What is wrong? Why do the horrors of the world exist and plague us so? Yet what if this questioning could lead us to a place within ourselves where all of these questions unite us with the One Love?
In today’s Prayer & Healing Circle, we use the Remembrance meditate and ruminate on the Name of the One that encompasses All Names and that which is beyond the human comprehension of existence. We breathe the sound vibrations into our bodies to unite our consciousness with the Oneness within, the place where conflict disappears and questions answer themselves. Please join us.

"The Crucified Life"
We have seen that to have Godly vision, we must first have a vision of Jesus—the real Jesus, as He really is. When we see Jesus as He really is, we will also see ourselves as we really are. We saw that when the great men of the Bible saw Jesus, they were instantly humbled, feeling as though they wanted to just disappear. Once we reach this place of utter brokenness before God, we are then in a position to receive God’s vision for our lives. We have also seen that God’s vision for our lives is intricately connected to His eternal purpose for His creation, which is to cover the earth with His glory.
So let’s say that you are getting a clearer vision of Jesus. And by this you are also getting a clearer vision of yourself. You are getting a greater sense of your unworthiness, your utter sinfulness, and your total inability. When you compare yourself to His glory and His holiness, you see that you are merely an earthen vessel and that without Him you can do nothing. This is where Job was when He said, “Now my eye sees You, therefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes”— dust and ashes being a symbol of death.
If you are at this place, or approaching this place, then the next thing is to allow God to give you His vision for your life. Having this vision is what will elevate you from the earthly and mundane to the glorious and transcendent. But God isn’t going to give it to you as long as you are filled with self-will and the lusts of the flesh. You must become utterly broken before Him! But let’s assume you have reached this place. What then?

When we leave this world, we leave something behind. One way or another, for better or worse. Equally true is our inheritance upon birth. I was not born in to wealth rather a rich life. My inheritance is one of skills, knowledge, and passion for the outdoors. I am fortunate for my upbringing. Most girls and women never get the opportunities that I did. I am working to change that.
My personal and professional interests surrounding the decline in hunter participation and its impacts on wildlife resources has driven me to spend a significant amount of time working with hunter recruitment, retention, and reactivation (R3) efforts focused on women. I relate to the Extreme Huntress competition goals through recognizing that women play critical roles in their children’s perspective and eventual participation in hunting. It has been said that you cannot plant seeds on sidewalks. To me this means that we can’t continue to pour our limited R3 resources in to youth hunting programs and expect success if we do not recruit the parents. In the end, if the parents are not supportive of their child hunting and do not continue to provide opportunities to develop skills, the youth’s interest will wither and die. As a result, we gain no new hunters to stem the decline. For positive results we should look to the non-hunting parents, especially mom.
Women are the fastest growing demographic in hunting but there are still significant barriers to their recruitment. One of the hurdles of recruiting women in to hunting is breaking the ingrained perspective that hunting is a man’s sport. This is one area that I feel like I can make a difference. One way to overcome this perception is to increase efforts that promote knowledgeable and competent female role models and leaders that hunt in the media and beyond. In addition to my efforts to develop a women’s R3 program I strive to be the best example of a hunter and angler in both my personal and professional life and continue to produce positive images and examples of women in the field in different media outlets.
A true story of a whitetail buck I hunted for many years with an amazing story to tell.
My name is Joseph Byler. I have been an archer since I was young, thanks to the love of hunting my dad instilled in me while growing up. We have an Amish background, and the majority of my family still remains Amish today. As you might imagine, our love of the outdoors is in our blood and traditions.
I have always enjoyed every part of being an outdoorsman. It brings a feeling of freedom and relief that many people don’t have the opportunity to
experience, and it’s something I don’t take for granted. I believe that getting out in God’s awesome country, with no other purpose but to spend time in His presence in the great creation He made, is more than enough reason for me. No matter what time, rhyme, or reason I am in the woods, I can always learn something new, and I believe that none of that time is wasted! I believe every single hunt, even the unsuccessful ones, is still worth the time spent because each experience is a benefit and provides learning opportunities.
I hope you enjoy this story of a buck that I learned many new things from. I’m excited to relive the journey and share it with you!
Joseph Byler
Hunting has always been in my blood but once i took my first deer with a bow it became an obsession/passion. Watching hunting videos and how-to videos has become part of my off-season prep work on bettering myself to become the best whitetail hunter i can. 13 years later i am more obsessed than ever before and have spent a small fortune on cameras and tree stands.
After 10 years of trying, I took my first velvet buck this year with a bow at 20 yards, from the ground, and no blind. Since starting to archery hunt i have introduced several members of my family to the archery world and have had the opportunity to help them take their first deer with a bow.
