African Joy

Being born in South Africa, I often yearn to the fragrance of the earth after a beautiful soft rain. I would run out of my childhood home when the first drops reach the dry earth ! I marveled in the smell almost chocking me. I would pick up handfuls of dry sand and hold it up to the sky. Then I would bring it to my nose gentle like a first kiss and loose myself in it’s scent !! Come on my journey with me to South Africa and it’s beautiful rich soil of all hues!
