The Cubs have been a mostly lousy playoff team since they won the 2017 NLDS against the Nationals, and that didn't change this season. They spent less than 27 hours in the playoffs, got eight hits, scored one run and trailed for 17 of the 18 innings. So, if that doesn't make you want to listen to a half hour recap of this, what would?
How bad was the Cubs 8-0 loss to the Padres in game one of the Wild Card round? We started the RECRAP before the game was over so we could stop watching it. Petecrow struck out to start the game. Fernando Tatis hit the first pitch Matt Boyd threw for a homer (though Petecrow almost caught it) and if the game felt over at that ridiculously early moment, it really was. We look back at an awful game and try to figure out what the Cubs are going to do in game two.
The Bears pounded the Eagles 27-7 and the star was a 38 year old third string quarterback. What was less likely, Case Keenum turning back the clock or the Bears' defense throttling the Eagles? Both happened. Enjoy the RECRAP brought to you by Schlitz Beer.
The playoffs start on Tuesday, and Oleg and Praz are here to help break down the serieseses, the announcers and everything in between. We say goodbye to Taylor McGregor, tell a funny Mike Krukow story, discuss Ian Happ and Seiya Suzuki's futures with the Cubs, but more importantly who is going to start games one and two or even three for the Cubs against the Padres?
We'll find out soon enough if the Bears entire season went down with Caleb Williams' hamstring or if just some if it did. He seems to have avoided We point out who is to blame and it starts at the very top! Also it didn't help that the Bears' offensive genius was completely pantsed by the Vikings' defensive genius or that the center and the rookie tight end each did a lot to cost them the game. The weirdos who can't wait to see Tyson Bagent get a few starts are about to get their wish. Let's hope it works out. (It won't.) Plus, bonus coverage of a Cubs' player going full Juan Encarnacion in the on deck circle. Never, ever do that.
