We briefly return from our hiatus with an episode recorded last summer, all about Harry Potter Fandom: the good, the bad, and the ugly. Zoe and Adela reminisce about their first introductions to the books and to the fandom, online and offline. E remembers their view of this monolith of a fanbase from the sidelines, when internet culture in the 00s and 10s was saturated with Harry Potter references, theories, memes, and revelations. Zoe discusses types of fandoms from a scholarly lens and why the Harry Potter fandom was so transformative. For better or worse, HP fans shaped early internet culture.
