Pretty privilege is always at the surface and is not just unhelpful on a path of pleasure, but usually creates harm for individuals and relationships. How we acknowledge it and bring awareness to it is important. Adam and Malcolm talk about what happens in the body, in behaviors, and in relationships when someone is at a lack or abundance of pretty privilege. They also do a live demo of what it might look like to talk to your partner.

Pretty privilege impacts the ways in which we ask for and receive what we want. It is embedded and programmed into our minds and bodies and can be remarkably challenging to tease out. In this podcast, Malcolm and Adam look at how pretty privilege manifests in our lives and relationships and how it can create harm. They discuss how we each need to take responsibility in bringing greater awareness to how our pretty privilege expresses itself in the different spaces we enter. And they look at and question how colonialism, racism, and the patriarchal systems in our culture impact how prettiness is valued and how it creates harm for all of us.
