Preach The Word - David Legge

Psalm 23 is such a familiar scripture that just keeps on giving. David describes how, when he felt low, the Lord used this Psalm to 'restore' his soul. We learn what the soul is and how, in the Hebrew mind, it also incorporates the body. Whatever 'lack' we sense in our souls can be restored through the love of our Shepherd: Jesus Christ. This is an encouraging and uplifting message for anyone who needs it. This message is available at https://www.preachtheword.com now in MP3 audio format...

Previously, David had preached that 'We Need More Miracles'. From Scripture, we see that miracles were often brought about by faith. In 'Faith For The Miraculous', David shows how faith is a gracious gift of the Holy Spirit that makes the miraculous possible. If we desire more miracles, we need the Lord to increase our faith. The Bible uses Abraham, 'the father of faith', as an example of how God grows our faith to see Him move supernaturally. Mountain-moving faith is something God can give us today. Every conversion is a supernatural event, but some conversions are accompanied by specific supernatural phenomena. The conversion of Cornelius the Centurion in Acts 10 is one of those. We see Cornelius having visions and seeing angels, and Peter the apostle falling into a trance and receiving divine instructions on how to reach Cornelius with the gospel. This story challenges our prejudices about people different from us and also about how God works in His world. The big question is: is God doing anything like this today? As well as commenting on Acts 10, David shares supernatural stories from the Middle East and from England that demonstrate that God is still moving in supernatural ways to encounter ordinary people with His loving presence. In Matthew 4:12-17, 23-25 we see a prophecy from Isaiah 9 fulfilled in the life and ministry of Jesus. Isaiah promised light would shine over a region that was living in darkness and under the shadow of death. We can have darkness over our land and lives, too. Only the light of Jesus can dispel that. But we as Christians are also called 'the light of the world'. This passage shows how Jesus shone the 'Kingdom Of Heaven Light' and how we can do the same. Learn how to shine the rays of the Kingdom light. This message is available at https://www.preachtheword.com now in MP3 audio format...
