When the Protools update/support plan doubled two years (with just a few weeks' notice), that was the last straw for me, so I purchased Studio One at half price (they appeared to specifically target disaffected Protools users). Now that my large project is done, I'm letting my Protools Plan lapse on April 8. I wonder how many other home/hobby users will jump ship over the next few years? Protools seems to prefer relying on a smaller pool of professionals rather than encourage the large sea of amateurs willing to pay a reasonable price for updates ... it seems an odd strategy.
