The Glory of God can be Achieved! Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion, people are made great and given strength. 1Chronicles 29:12When any of us seek strength from any source other than God, aren’t we giving in to the myth that strength can be bought, consumed, or manipulated?King David understood this. At the coronation of his son Solomon, He praised God alone for being the source of our strength. More amazing, however, David didn’t ask God to grant His strength to God’s people. Instead, David prayed for obedience, “Make your people always want to obey you” (v.18). Strength will come from God, as He chooses to give it. But obedience blesses us first.That’s still true today. Bulking up with drugs to get strong won’t help us. Begging God for strength won’t empower us. We bless God, instead, by seeking to obey Him.
