Here is the podcast for tonight's show. We hear some new and recent releases as well as tracks from the heyday. The first set contains songs that relate to vampires in one way or another. The final set includes A Place to Bury Strangers and The Raveonettes, two groups that have achieved quite a bit of attention, especially as of late. Their songs are coupled with obvious (and quite wonderful) influences Suicide and The Jesus and Mary Chain. Rhino records remastered and reissued five Jesus and Mary Chain records this week. It's been a long time since they've been available at an affordable cost, so if you've got worn out copies, now's your chance to hook up. Hopefully by the end of the show you'll be talking to your chaotic souls in rhymes (yeah, I know, cheez-balleez, but whatever). A new show, you say? Yes, that's right muthafucka! Here's the podcast and playlist for the January 19, 2008 episode of Psychocandy. It's the first new show I've done this year and I hope you enjoy it. As a sort of tribute to one of my good friends, whose birthday just happened to coincide with the airing of this episode, the middle section contains songs that all relate to Bauhaus in one way or another. Here we are again with an update in a series of entries that are quite a few weeks apart. For that we do apologize; however, with the new year (yeah, I know it's the nineteenth, but we're just getting over the holiday festivities in slacker-land), we plan to keep you more up to date with the happenings on this end as well as produce some special episodes highlighting the careers of such luminaries as The Cure, Bauhaus, and Ministry, among others. But for now, here is the podcast for the X-mas episode that aired on December 22, 2007, as well as the playlist. If you'll take note, the playlist format has changed a bit and here is a little key for figuring out all the ballyhoo. After a brief hiatus (read: a few weeks of encore presentations of episodes from last year) Psychocandy is back! It's been slightly difficult preparing new episodes as I have taken on the responsibility of producing a five-day-per-week show called Beat City Radio . However, in the midst of that process and preparing for finals, I managed to churn out something new for your listening pleasure. To celebrate the return of the show to its original one-hour length, we have fresh opening and closing themes and the playlist will now be listed in the blog entries, rather than linked to another website. Tonight we'll hear from My Robot Friend, Blaqk Audio, Depeche Mode, Ministry, and more. Enjoy...Here is the PODCAST P.S. Well, here's the October 13, 2007 show featuring the sophomore effort from the L.A. based She Wants Revenge. The band is featured in the second hour, as I planned ahead. The first hour of the live broadcast was supposed to get pre-empted, yes, pre-empted by ISU Women's Volleyball!!! Of all things... Anyway, as it turns out, both hours were pre-empted, and the airing of this episode was attempted again the following week with the same results. So, if you tuned in or tried to stream the show on October 13 or October 20, here is some salvation in podcast form. Let me know what you think of this show and/or the latest from SWR. One of the band's latest singles is available for download a couple of posts down. Enjoy... VIEW PLAYLIST PODCAST HOUR ONE PODCAST HOUR TWO
