This episode was so eye opening to me because now I’m seeing how much I have learned from my own experience. This was a huge Lesson! Going from working at a job, to creating my own position in the company, then all of a sudden it gets taken away from me. I had so many emotions going on at this time in my life but I realized that this experience taught me where my weaknesses were. My areas of growth. Because I had built myself up to this position, I thought I was doing something. Little did I know that this was a set up to show me areas of improvement, but also showing me that it doesn’t stop here. GOD was telling me that I have much more to go. New challenges to face. New LEVELS to reach. New valleys to conquer. And just like I realized that for me, I want you to realize that for yourself too. The reason why you are going thru what you are going thru is to break you. Once you are broken, that’s when you start seeing you are not what you think. It might sound harsh but it’s the truth. You aren’t what you think because you are so much more. It’s just taking what looks like an L to get you ready for the Lesson, so you can receive it with open arms. Then it goes from Lesson to LIVE. GOD wants you to Live the life he has called you to live. But the lesson is going to get your attention as long as you can look beyond the L.
When you think of building a business you may think of having an office, dressing up in a suit or a dress, and talking to clients at the business table. Well my special guess for the last episode of Purposeful Talk Podcast “season one” has redefined what it means to do business. Have you ever been through and challenging situation and wondered what good can come out of this? You’re going through it and you are only experiencing the bad, but you try to stay positive even though your world is turning inside out. This is something that I’ve recently experienced and I wanted to talk about it, and who other to talk about it with other than my wife. She has seen me go through this tough time and has been by my side and walk with me through it. Thank God for her. But in this video, I wanted to share my story of how I got demoted from a position that I created and was super excited about. I thought this was going to be the beginning of something great, but then things turned on me. We never hear the stories about people going through their go through, we only hear about them on the other side where it’s all bright, the vision is clear, and things are going well. This video will be a little different. In this video I’m sharing it all.
I've always wondered what makes people get into the businesses they get into. What was their thought process? Did they choose it because they knew it would make a lot of money, or was it a family business that was passed down to them? Where they passionate about the business/industry and wanted to make a change or did they see a problem and wanted to be the solution. Then I realized by talking with so many Entrepreneurs and Business Owners that, IT IS ALL UP TO YOU. There is no right or wrong answer. It's the one that works for you. Fortunately for you and me, I was able to sit down with someone who started a business off of her passion for it, but also because she saw a problem and wanted to be the solution. My guest today on the Purposeful Talk Podcast, owns Khroma Hair Studios in Pearland Texas, a suburb right outside of Houston, Tx. She has been in business for the past 8 years, she's clearing 6 figures, and making a stable in the hair industry. Her dream and vision for her business is what continues to drive her everyday and I'm excited to see the what the next 10 years will look like.
I made this video because I really do have dreams of being a millionaire. My vision is to "BE ABLE TO". That is, "BE ABLE TO" come and go as I please, "BE ABLE TO" work where anywhere I choose and the time I choose. "BE ABLE TO" go on vacation whenever I want. That is why I want to be a millionaire so I can have the freedom to do what I want to do. However, I realized something with this. You only become a millionaire when you have a millionaire mentality. You can hustle, grind, and work as hard as you want, but until you start to think like a millionaire, you will not be able to maintain it. Here's one problem though... How do you get a millionaire mentality if you don't have people in your circle with a millionaire mentality? If I don't have millionaires around me, how do I get that mindset? I can network, I can serve, I can do a few things to get millionaire minded people in your circle, but there is also something else you can do and it's a lot simpler than you think. When I started doing this, I didn't see change happen right away. It took time, but I stayed at it. After a while, I knew I had changed because the things around me started to change. I responded differently to certain situations. I moved differently and I was more focused. I had clarity and my vision was clear. This is a episode you DO NOT want to miss. And once you hear this, you WILL make and SEE some real changes that will create a path to millionaire status.
You can only be as good as the level you know yourself. Logaan and I talk about how learning ourselves has helped us become better versions of ourself.
Building a business in the hair industry is not easy. Not only are businesses set to fail in its first 5 years, running a business during these tough times can be very stressful. It's only the ones that push through that tough barrier that reach success. And that is why I had Kendra come on to the podcast. Almost 10 years in business, and she has a waiting list that stretches out 2 months in advance. 6 figure earner and under the age of 35, she is doing something right.
