In dit college bespreekt Frederik van Dam (Radboud Universiteit) een tweede belangrijke kunststroming in de hedendaagse literatuur: het postmodernisme. In postmoderne verhalen wordt de werkelijkheid waarin we leven in vraag gesteld. Hoe kunnen we weten dat de realiteit waarin we ons bevinden echt bestaat? Auteurs binnen het postmodernisme bezinnen zich over deze vraag op verschillende manieren: niet alleen in filosofisch proza, zoals in de romans van W.G. Sebald, maar ook in meer populaire genres, zoals het computerspel The Stanley Parable of de avonturen van Kuifje. In dit college gaan we dieper in op de verschillende vormen die postmoderne literatuur aanneemt en onderzoeken we de relatie tussen het postmodernisme en globalisering.
Alle aspecten van taal veranderen langzaam maar zeker – ook de manier waarop ze worden uitgesproken. Hoe gaat dat in zijn werk? En hoe kunnen we horen hoe oud een verandering precies is? En wat heeft de moderne uitspraak van 'Els' precies te maken met het feit dat wij 'oud' zeggen in plaats van (Engels) 'old' of (Duits) 'alt', 'koud' in plaats van 'cold/kalt', 'goud' in plaats van 'gold'?
Met al deze mogelijkheden is de vraag natuurlijk hoe bedrijven hierop kunnen inspelen? Naast techniek komt er namelijk nog meer bij kijken. Ook het bedrijf, de producten en de medewerkers vragen om aanpassingen bij de transitie naar e-commerce. In dit laatste deel kijken we naar de uitdagingen bij de implementatie van e-commerce.
