Our guest this week is comedian, writer and actress Maisie Adam. Maisie is a massive Leeds United fan, so naturally we forced her to consume two documentaries that focus on both halves of the Steel City, Sheffield.
One features Big Ron building up to Wednesday's triumphant 1991 League Cup Final appearance with the Owl's preparing for their biggest game in 50 years. Whilst the other documentary takes an in-depth look at the playing staff at Brammell Lane as the Blades take on League Division Two in the 1989/90 season.

Joining us this week is Loaded founder (and Leeds United fan) James Brown who regales us with some incredible stories during his time as creator and editor of the defining magazine of the decade. Featuring of course Gazza, meeting Cantona, away days and nights out with the Rep. of Ireland squad and much, much more... what a glorious time to be alive...
Elsewhere in the postbag we discuss and de-bunk a ridiculous Michael Duberry myth and could another 90's legend have exposed themselves to some questionable beliefs in the 90's O Clock news?

S11 EP2: Lee Sharpe
We've been trying to get this man on the show for years ever since his fan club was put under our noses and it's safe to say he didn't disappoint! From Torquay to Bradford via Manchester United, Leeds, Sampdoria and an incredible story about his short lived spell in Iceland! It's our absolute pleasure to welcome to the show the creator of the Sharpe Shuffle, Mr Lee Sharpe...
Elsewhere in the postbag we discuss whether Denis Irwin was overrated (he wasn't - he was excellent) and was George Weah's secret to success an excessive amount of Zzzz's ?....
See you next week when our guest is the brilliant comedian Geoff Norcott who discusses his time as a die hard Wimbledon fan in the 80's and 90's Crazy Gang era... that episode is available NOW to QK Fan Club members over at www.anotherslice.com/quicklykevin

S11 EP1: Peter Reid
We're back! And what an honour it is to open the new series with a titan of the football world...
When we first sat down to re-watch Premier Passions all those years ago, we always hoped this day would come so we could finally say the words: "Welcome to Quickly Kevin, Peter Reid".
Not fouling Maradona, being a genuinely decent player manager, cheering up Sunderland, it's all here!
Elsewhere we've got all the usual 90's O Clock news and postbag and some big news about the Quickly Kevin Fan Club 2.0 re-boot (headlines: it's better and cheaper!) including the announcement that yes, we'll back for the World Cup in November and December as we go 'topical' with a fans eye view of the tournament and three episodes a week for QK Fan Club members. S10 EP7: The End of Series 90's Football Quiz
You know the drill by now. It's the QK end of series 90's Footballl Quiz. There will be factual inaccuracies. There will be at least one mention of Peter Shilton. And inevitably, Chris will lose... thanks for listening this series. We'll be back soon with Series 11 and another amazing line-up of guests (feel free to let us know topics / footballers / guests you'd like us to cover in the comments below) and in the meantime we'll see you very soon for the Patreon only Sweeper! Chapter 3 and 4 (the first of which drops this week) and all the usual QK Fan Club bonus content including the tombola prize draw. We've found even more 90's based goodies to give away! The latest addition is some of the Euro 96 yellow water bottles from the iconic Gazza goal celebration against Scotland. What's not to love...

This week it's our absolute pleasure to welcome to QK a man who is part of the fabric, the DNA of 90's football in this country. From co-creating the brilliant '90 Minutes' football magazine to his time as a producer on Fantasy Football League (via time working for Ken Bates at Chelsea) it's a fascinating chat where we don't even manage to get round to discussing Spurs! Enjoy...

And on top of that a Patreon only QK Film Club deep dive and watch-a-long of the 1997 film 'Fever Pitch' based on Nick Hornby's seminal book of the same name.

Yes, after ten series we finally get round to an entire episode on Scottish football in the 90's. Comedian Susie McCabe joins us to discuss her beloved hoops in the 90's - not the best spell in the clubs history as Rangers were very much the force in Scottish football at the time. But a fascinating period for the club with some real lows that made the highs that followed all the more sweeter...Enjoy!
Elsewhere we've got more team photo japes, and some dignity regained in the end of episode quiz...

S10 EP3: Jarlath Regan / Mick McCarthy's Republic of Ireland
We're joined this week by the comedian, presenter and podcaster - Jarlath Regan.
We watch and discuss the superb documentary McCarthy's Park (available on youtube) which takes a look at Mick McCarthy's time in charge of ROI as they try and fail to qualify for the France 1998 World Cup. From the early seeds of troubles with Roy Keane, to hygienic tattoo parlours via some early (but not very effective) video analysis from Mick and his team over a few beers. It's a brilliant watch. And a different time.
Elsewhere in the postbag we discuss Peter Shilton's tiny hands. George Weah as Prime Minister of Liberia, and players wearing the wrong shirts. Enjoy!
Jarlath's brilliant podcast 'An Irishman Abroad' is available wherever you get your podcasts and the book he mentions 'Champagne Football' by Mark Tighe + Paul Rowan is well worth a read.

S10 EP2: Joe Wilkinson on Gillingham FC
This episode we chat to the brilliant comedian Joe Wilkinson about his love of Gillingham FC in the 90's and beyond. Not only a love letter to lower league football and all it entails, but this episode also contains perhaps one of our favourite ever (loosely) football related anecdotes... just why was he running? And where to? Or from? Answers on a postcard....
In other news, on top of extended 'director of football cuts' of the main series episodes, all QK Fan Club members will now also get the episodes a whole WEEK EARLY - that's right, we now release on a Monday for QK Fan Club members and the following Monday for the non fan club listeners!

And as a special extra treat, we went to the home of East London's biggest and best club, Leyton Orient, with Ivo Graham for a first hand look at some league two action from the vantage point of the Brisbane Road flats built in the 90's (and discussed on previous pods)

QKWHS - S9 EP10: 'Warnock' documentary with James Gill
This episode we watch the incredible documentary 'Warnock' (Yes, we know it's from 2004 but it's so steeped in the 90's it may as well be The Impossible Job) which is all about manager Neil Warnock and a season in charge of his beloved Sheffield United. Joining us to dissect every last frame is comedian James Gill.
Elsewhere, should Robert Earnshaw be worried Elon Musk is on to him?

QKWHS - S9 EP6: This Month In The 90's - September 1996
It's a brand new QK format this month as we're joined in the studio by Tom Craine to do a deep dive into one specific month during the decade. And seeing as it's the 25th anniversary of September 1996 what better place to start...
We discuss all the big news of that month, Wenger's appointment, Wimbledon's amazing run of form, a tepid goal of the month competition and what was going on in the world and with us in general 25 years ago this month... Enjoy!

S9 EP5: Andreas Brehme
Stop. The Press.
We've only gone and got World Cup Winner Andreas Brehme as a guest!!
Scorer of the winning goal at Italia 90. One of the best left backs in the history of the game and in Franz Beckenbauer's words - the only player so good with both feet you didn't know which one was stronger. It was logistically complex (as you'll find out) but if you want to hear from one of the worlds greatest full backs on the Inter / AC Milan German and Dutch rivalry, what it's like to take a penalty in the world cup final, and most importantly, what was Rudi Voller's nickname (and so much more!) then you've come to the right place. Enjoy!

S9 EP4: Wimbledon and Barnet documentaries with Ben Clarke
This week Ben Clarke joins us as we watch two episodes of the documentary series 'The London Programme' - the first focuses on Wimbledon's Crazy Gang in the 90's (look out for an amazing cameo on Dean Holdsworth's stag do!) and their mid season friendly with the mighty Real Madrid.
If you want to watch you can find it here;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tk5pqwzEJuA
And the second episode looks at Barry Fry and chairman Stan Flashman's volatile relationship whilst in charge of Barnet. It has to be seen to be believed.
Available here...

Plus the usual correspondence and features we all know and love.

S9 EP3: Caroline Barker (Non-league special)
It's our great pleasure to welcome to the QK studio this week the brilliant journalist and broadcaster - Caroline Barker.
As a life-long fan of her beloved Chelmsford City, Caroline talks us through life as a non-league fan, director, and even key holder (yes, literally, the keys that open all the doors around the club) This episode is very much a love letter to Non-League football in all its guises. The characters, the tales, the heartbreak and ultimately, the hope...

Quickly Kevin Will He Score? - S9 EP2: Phil Thompson
This week it's our absolute pleasure to welcome to the show a titan of the footballing world. A Liverpool legend who went from watching the team as a boy on the Kop to playing, captaining, winning league and European trophies and then eventually returning as assistant manager and then caretaker manager of his boyhood club.
A real life Roy of the Rover story and one of the nicest, most charming men in the game. We spent two hours in his company and could have happily spent many more as he talked about his career, his friendship with Gerard Houllier, and most importantly (exclusive to QK Fan club Patreon members) the signing of the enigma that is Pegguy Arphexad... enjoy!!

QKWHS - Euro 2020 EP14: End of Euros Awards Show
We couldn't leave the Euros series on such a low point. So here, with a bit more reflection and love in our hearts is a bonus episode where we go through our favourite / best bits of the tournament and give out some entirely arbitrary awards.
We'll be back later this week with Chapter 8 of the Steve Bruce / Barnes odyssey - joined as always by Ivo Graham. We've also got loads more exclusive Patreon only episodes before the QK main series starts again on the 20th of August for fan club members (23rd for non members) including another QK Fil[m Club where we watch the new Roberto Baggio drama film.
Merchandise and CM97/97 updates are in this episode as well so watch this space!
Thanks so much for all your support, messages, emails and everything else in between over the summer we couldn't have done it without you and are very grateful to have shared it with this brilliant community.
Now let's get back to the 90's....the past can't hurt us, right?....

No way you actually got Brucey on 😂 I can't wait

Chapter 5 of Striker appeared & then disappeared & now there's no sign of the final series...is there a copyright issue suddenly? Has Steve Bruce presented a cease & desist to the Quickly Kevin gang, have they been "stabbed in the back" by beaurocracy?

I listened this morning on my morning run, a new thing for me but a way to pay for those pesky kilojoules before they are consumed. We can't all be Huckerby's and some of us were made for vigour rather than flair. I enjoy this podcast a lot. I have even passed the pod on to my assistant, and we make "in jokes" when we are around others or we make passing remarks on the latest episode, teamed with a cheeky wink, as she brings me my morning cup of camomile tea - the vixen. I do though need to move with the times and find a wristwatch that will combine my fitness tracker and my mobile telephone. I can't go around forever with on on each arm. 5 stars!
great banter
get the f**k in there. been waiting for the continuation of the Steve Barnes story. what a time to be alive

great listening to the champ manager banter. I play a free online manager game which is like the old school manager games www.mystify.co.uk if any one fancies it. there are teams available

I've been listening on Spotify until now. but just downloaded the app solely to comment on this podcast... everything I've ever wanted is in this podcast !! they absolutely nailed it , for a certain demographic I know but all the references to 90s pop culture and the footballing environment back then .....absolute perfection !!! well done ⚽⚽⚽🎸🎸🎸

Did 'the Bartman' cause Pele to do the 'erectile disfunction' adverts? Ps Bart Williams was a poor man's Tony Daley. #Mitacopiers4ever
