Brian Johnson has been a grassroots referee in the United States for over 8 years refereeing a wide range of games from MLS Next to Semi-Professional matches. He rose to fame on Tiktok where his account @refereepov grew to have over 400 thousand followers with his educational refereeing videos going viral on the short video platform. He explained his strategy and how he grew to become so big on social media, meeting fans while refereeing and helpful advice for young referees.
Rubiel Vazquez has been refereeing in the MLS since 2017 and was listed on the FIFA panel in 2020. He has been the 4th official for the 2019 MLS Cup, 2020 Concacaf League Final, 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup and on the whistle for the 2021 USL Championship Final. He talked about why he decided to become a PRO referee, the sacrifices he had to make along the way, his MLS debut and misunderstood aspects of refereeing.
Ex FIFA and PRO referee, Ted Unkel, refereed in the MLS from 2012 to 2021 and was listed on the FIFA panel from 2016 to 2021. He discussed various refereeing topics such as VAR, emotions in a match, game management and advice for young referees.

He shared some astounding insight into what it's like refereeing in the MLS and the sacrifices he had to make along the way to reach the top level of american soccer.
We invited Ben Glass to come speak with us about his extensive experience as a referee which started in 1974, at the age of 16, refereeing youth, adult and high school matches in Northern Virginia. He provided us with great pieces of practical advice for new referees and we touched on a few other topics like fitness, assignors, getting past mistakes as a referee.
