The jury in the Stardust inquests has returned a verdict of unlawful killing in the cases of each of the 48 people who died in the fire 43 years ago. A press conference has taken place with the families of the victims in Dublin's garden of remembrance our reporter Una Kelly was there. We also hear some voices from 1981 as the tragedy unfolded.
After 43 years an inquest jury has found that all 48 of the young people who died at the Stardust nightclub were unlawfully killed. For reaction Finian McGrath, a former Minister of State for disability and Independent TD for Dublin Bay North, and by Tony McCullagh, co-author of They Never Came Home, the Stardust story.
The Taoiseach Simon Harris speaking in Brussels said it was his understanding that the Gardai would consider the outcome of the Stardust inquest today. Two mothers who lost their sons in road traffic accidents in the north are calling for progress on road safety upgrades and education programmes. Here sadly in a nutshell is rte media bias personified... Coveny when asked about the indiscriminate bombing of gaza answers "its concerning" when Richard boyd barrett is asked about hamas attack and says "i regret the taking of life" he is charged with "sounding like he condones murder" no wonder rte is a basket case...
