J A featuring Donato Dozzy - Sorella di confine | RUBBER013
A1 - Eclisse indolente
A2 - Era vitale
B - Sorella di confine
Vinyl / Digital: https://rubber-denhaag.bandcamp.com/album/sorella-di-confine
Distribution by @clone-distribution
The initial 7-inch edition was withdrawn as the pressing didn’t fully capture the sonic quality of the tracks. Rubber releases a small repress on 10-inch, a format that truly carries the sound and presents the music exactly as intended.
Reuniting as a trifecta, J A returns to Rubber with a three-pronged EP. This time, Andrea Noce and Jonida Prifti are joined by Donato Dozzy—the Italian maestro of minimal techno, who threads liquid geometry into the pair’s vocal acrobatics.
Like a silver fog descending, ‘Eclisse Indolente’ opens. Not quite ambient—with field recording-esque emanations filling the backdrop—the spoken lyrics are moonlit incantations, spells for a mid-winter ritual. ‘Era Vitale’ showcases Dozzy’s hypnotic latticework in full effect, the operatic accompaniment gliding over a twitching beat. For the titular track—its thundering power a homage to the sound system—blasts of cold bass interject at intervals; a muted post-dub tirade, narrated by fractured, echoing whispers.
Building on their previous album for the imprint, enter ja, which leaned more instrumentally maximalist, this incarnation shifts to subtle, mesmerising sonics that let the lyrical prowess surge forth. A testament to the mystical nature of the voice, Sorella di Confine is pagan-folk for the club; a lunar chant, an ebony hymn.
The record serves as a sister release to Prifti’s eponymous poetry collection, published in 2024 by Marco Saya Edizioni. An extract from the collection’s afterword appears on the back sleeve, penned by the renowned lyricist, playwright, poet, and novelist Pasquale Panella.

Introducing World of Rubber 4, a bold compilation featuring five cutting-edge tracks from trailblazing artists who push the boundaries of sound and embrace the label's signature non-conformity. This collection showcases a wide sonic spectrum, from experimental vocal pieces to club ready floor killers.
With work of Indonesia’s Senyawa, where vocalist Rully Shabara’s electrifying range blends with Wukir Suryadi’s processing of (handmade) instruments. Hailing From the UK, MAP71 offers hypnotic poetry layered over pulsating electronics, driven by Lisa Jayne’s surreal lyricism and Andy Pyne’s ritualistic rhythms. Swedish experimental techno producer Peder Mannerfelt brings his raw energy and genre-defying sound. Dutch techno pioneer Unit Moebius Anonymous takes a second stab at Juzer, a project by Beau Wanzer and Dan Jugel, delivering heavy hitting industrial-tinged rhythms. Lastly, The Modern Institute brings their avant-garde, deconstructed take on techno, blending industrial noise and playful experimentation to create a truly unpredictable sonic experience.

Our yearly Christmas special has descended — a mix of experimental and off-the-shelf holiday music to lift the spirit.
This festive season is extremely off.
Images of joy alternate with scenes of terror on our screens and in our thoughts. We hope that this Christmas is a moment not to look away but to gaze inward. Music not only soothes but also nurtures perseverance. Or as Death says, explaining the nature of belief in Hogfather (2006) — “You need to believe things that aren’t true. How else they can become?”
This year’s mix is collaged by Scrying the Landscape’s Hannah Pezzack and Elina Tapio, together with Rubber’s own The Social Lover.

Ton Lebbink - Wat Doe Je Met Me? | RUBBER 011
A1 - Wat Doe Je Met Me?
A2 - Denke Nie Gedacht Zu Haben (Ft. Christine & Jasmine)
B1 - For You
By the late 1980’s Ton Lebbink was a well respected figure in Amsterdam’s alternative scene: he was the drummer for the Amsterdam post punk group Mecano, a true punk poet and worked as a bouncer at Amsterdam’s main music venue Paradiso. He released two solo albums, both in his unique narcotic style: laying absurd Dutch wordplay over stripped down frigid instrumentals.
As the decade came to an end, Ton – already well in his forties – moved away from the often destructive and dangerous nightlife. After a series of odd jobs Ton started as a fitness instructor at an Amsterdam gym called Splash. Meanwhile, the 90’s brought the latest musical craze to Amsterdam: house music began to flourish through clubs like RoXy, iT and Mazzo. With house being the ideal score for his fitness classes, the once well known cult figure faded into anonymity at a 120 beats per minute. His musical endeavours were focusing more on finding the right beats for aerobics exercises with self-devised exercise – eventually leading Ton to bootleg some of them on cassette tapes himself.
In parallel to this radical shift, Ton did not stop making music. On the contrary, piles of demos showed high activity but in a direction no one was looking. Inspired by music to move to, Ton recorded hours of music that activated the body while staying true to his playful mindset. Discarding his voice as an instrument, the Roland W-30 sampler became his tool to communicate. Gathering vocal snippets from close friends, barflies and pets, a repertoire developed where witty repetitiveness could exist. Going through a vast collection of demos, pictures and many anecdotes, Rubber has been able to create an EP that gives insight into Ton’s overlooked 90’s era.
Three playful dance tracks by Ton Lebbink taking his complete own take on the Amsterdam house revolution of the 90's. Full of inventiveness: hip-shaking grooves, hypnotic beats and rousing vocals. Tracks to move to and tracks to groove to. Essential dancefloor workout tunes for you and me. Ah yeah!
[ Played on NTS on 22.07.22 ]
Ton Lebbink was a true Dutch cult figure. He has been mostly known for his work in the eighties, where he paired absurdist and witty Dutch wordplay with stripped down wave-instrumentals. This mixtape introduces you to his far lesser known nineties era, where he went from being a bouncer to becoming a fitness instructor, and replaced his voice with a Roland W-30 sampler.
Specifically recorded for his aerobic classes, we take off with a production of Lebbink himself that then blends into club-cuts he bootlegged from the radio. This adventurous mixtape seems the right prelude to the upcoming release ‘Wat Doe je Met Me?' on Dutch music label RUBBER – a 12’’ EP containing three Ton Lebbink dance productions that never saw daylight.
Thanks goes out to Christine, Lyckle, Twan and Bence for all their time and effort.

Rubber welcomes Swedish artist Towa Isling (towLie) under her skitungen alias. While some of you might be familiar with distorted drums and seething synth lines from the käfTen records founder, her skitungen project emits a more brazen energy. Längre än Långtån embodies Towa’s raw and DIY approach, but takes an unexpected turn towards the odd and dreamy. This results in a beautiful assembly combining Towa’s ethereal voice with satisfying weirdo beat music.
The 7inch, pressed on Rubber’s signature high quality white vinyl, is accompanied by a cover designed by Berlin-based multi media artist Puck Verkade.

As we sleigh into the holiday season, we pick up our tradition of putting out a Christmas special. A potent elixir of Xperimental and dark-not-dark specialties to bring some glow into everybody’s living room.
This year we are amped to share with you a mix quite close to home, The Westcoast to be precise. This year’s Christmas soundtrack is crafted by the North Sea Wolfpack, a femme collective of musicians, artists, creators, and producers that share a common love for sound in all its forms, and through their collective effort elevate one another and the (electronic) music scene.
The North Sea Wolfpack created a mix which is a collective effort of their members’ input resulting in an hour of cult-y off-beat carols and odes to this particular moment of the year. And of course a noteworthy mentioning Alina Valentina's secret stash that was added to the mix.
Have a flexible holiday!
p.s. the views expressed by the songs' artists are not necessarily our own — we wish everybody to keep their sofa.

As we stroll into the summer, we're happy to provide you with a fresh splash by Avant Garbage. The London-based duo k means and DJ ojo got entangled over their love for peculiar sounds and offers you a monthly refill on Netil Radio , with the stranger margins of music, deftly balancing feelings of brightness and darkness.
This two-hour (!) mix channels their love for disorientating dub and crunchy rhythms, combining old favourites and new digs ~ all infused with the softness of a psychedelic teabag. Rejuvenate and replenish with this one!

Get ready up for a cinematic ride, a journey along different sets of emotions passing by created by composer, producer, and percussionist Enir Da. Under his own moniker he creates music that offers a strong dream-like experiences meandering around ambient, dub and psychedelics.
Adrien Lamouroux (his real name) is also part of FITH, a collaboration with Dice Miller, a poetic and musical immersion, that will soon see the light on STROOM under the new name Dali Muru & the Polyphonic Swarm. Enir Da's solo album — Silence — has recently been remixed by a great set of artists, of which one track is even featured in this mix.
Buckle up and let this soundtrack guide you.

Matured along a path paved with hip hop, Victor Crezée became a DJ whose sound could be considered truly coast-to-coast — beyond genre and never daft. We got to know Crezée through his collage-like radio shows where high-contrast music is cut, juxtaposed and narrated with film snippets. We share being suckers for Dutch Westcoast and MF DOOM, so we are happy to add Victor to our RUBBER TIJD series with a mix full of piss and vinegar.

RUBBER TIJD is back with another episode. This week we feature Andre Agressi, long time friend of the label, important part of the Clone Records team and veteran DJ from the early BAKK and RUBBER parties way back. For RUBBER TIJD Andre Agressi has blessed us with a selection of some of the finest tunes exclusively in Dutch.
After nearly 20 years of rummaging through thrift shops, markets and car boot sales he has accumulated a whole array of Dutch vocal goodies. This is a special one.

RUBBER is happy to present you MINIGOD - De Bus. A three track 7 inch piece of music history.
MINIGOD - De Bus EP | RUBBER 008
A1 - MINIGOD - Her Darkness
A2 - MINIGOD - De Bus
B1 - MINIGOD - Plastic Tears
Vinyl / digital: https://rubber-denhaag.bandcamp.com/album/de-bus
Rubber brings it back to home ground by diving deeper into Jan Duivenvoorden's shoeboxes. Travelling beyond Unit Moebius, Funky Sobrietas and even Leuk & Ko, there was MINIGOD.
Back in 1987, at a local youth centre in the ever-dull Zoetermeer, a group of seven non-musical friends started what could be considered a freeform band ”electronic ’beuk‘ music with noise guitar and lyrical texts”. This band was called MINIGOD and rose from the ashes of the performative act Aars/rugklachten. Their change not only meant an upgrade in instruments - from jerrycans, barrels and worn-out bass guitar to keyboard and synthesizers - but also from simply screaming into the void towards songs with something of a structure.
The release portrays MINIGOD quintessentially -- energy above professionalism. From a large number of tracks Rubber made a precise selection allowing punk and satire to dance cheek-to-cheek. MINIGOD believed that every human can be a tiny bit of God, and that was just the way this music was intended. If only everybody believed in themselves, and in others.
MINIGOD is Jan Duivenvoorden (Unit Moebius), Richard van den Bogaert (Leuk & Ko), and Rob de Bakker played keyboard and synthesizer, Edwin Zuidwijk played guitar, and Siuli Ko and Bart Barendregt did the vocals.
Limited to 123 copies.
After a short holiday break we are happy to share the next Rubber Tijd with you. We warmly welcome our first artist of the year and number 81 on the show: Eddie Peake.
For this podcast Peake presents Memory Cycle 2, an audio piece from a series of sound works he has been making in recent years.
“They are an attempt to recreate as definitive recordings the live DJ sets I play in my performance work. Whereas in my performances they are ephemeral and reactive, here they are somewhat more calculated, although in both instances, chance and coincidence is important. They are collages of looping motifs drawn from a palette of original recordings, voice memos and field-recordings to evoke a sense of nostalgia, the subjective and inaccurate nature of memories, the repetitive and spiralling ideation of an obsessive or psychopathic mind.”
Eddie Peake is a London based Artist and DJ and his work includes performance, video, photography, painting, sculpture, sound and installation. It has tended to take the form of non-linear, immersive exhibitions, usually presented as a web of incongruously and yet inextricably connected discrete objects. Looping or repetitive forms are a prominent element, as is the theme of the inadequacy of verbal language in representing phenomena such as emotions, memories or modes of communication which are not verbal. Another of its foci is the implicit drama within relationships between people, whether they are familial, professional, romantic, sexual or social, and how desire, sexuality, socio-political and cultural constructs, as well as psychological states such as depression impact on them. Peake also DJs under a pseudonym and runs a record label imprint called Hymn.
We are very happy to have him on the team and hope you enjoy Memory Cycle 2.
Stay flexible!

Our yearly Christmas special is here again. A mix of experimental and non mainstream holiday music to lift the spirit.
Much can be said about this years Christmas, or this year for that matter. However, I think we can all agree that music and other forms of creative expression turned out to be even more valuable than we thought.
Because a lot of us will be celebrating Christmas in isolation we've decided to make this mix for you and made by you. The track selection for this years mix has been largely provided by the lovely people in the 'strange music from beyond' online community. If we can't celebrate together, let's create together. Thank you and have a happy experimental holiday!

Really happy to have Lucy Cliché on the team. Lucy Cliché is a Sydney, Australia based musician who's been at it for a while now, playing music (and an occasional DJ) under various guises including Lucy Cliché and Loose-y Crunché, and collaboratively with Half High, Naked On The Vague, and Knitted Abyss. As Lucy Cliché she's released records on Fleisch and Noise In My Head. Lucy Cliché's music delivers a hard bitten exploration of how physicality and the ethereal can interact in music – heavy bass rhythms lock into pounding drums, washed over with synth chords and acid bleeps.
She's wrote some words on the mix:
"I've lovingly crafted this mix of some of my favourite (predominantly loosely electronic and experimental) Australian and New Zealand artists, with mostly newer tracks and a few older tracks to keep them in good company. This mix pretty much transverses through palettes of sounds that excite my ears and nurture my heart, with music from my intimate and broader music communities. During lock-down I've been reflecting on the importance of having a strong local (music) community, because Australia at the best of times is geographically isolated, but now borders are shut, so the local music community needs to be more self-sufficient, and I guess part of this involves positively reflecting inward with curiosity and admiration as to nurture what is here, valuing the labour and love of creating at a time of being so physically separated from the rest of the world."
Tracklist:
