No quick answers, no flashy
comments, just serious talk from a School Board trustee.
In this edition: Al Rowlett
doesn't know how to give a short answer – or a boring one. He tells
us in detail, where the district has gone right, AND wrong. In a
unique, open conversation he shows us just who Al Rowlett is, and
why we should vote to reelect him.
Meet the Candidate – Al Rowlett,
on today's RadioElkGrove. Let's look into it together.

When you ask Al Rowlett a
question, you get the whole
answer. He'll site details, history, background from around the
state, all in a calm and open manner. You should hope for that kind
of knowledge from a man that has been committed to Elk Grove
Education for over a quarter century.
But
the depth and knowledge of his responses doesn't hide Rowlett's
underlying passion for the kids of our district.

School Board. Does Elk Grove
Unified need
that kind of leadership?

Forcina has little positive to say about the school board. Is this
the change we need?

running for school board against experienced educators and
administrators. But not all of our board now come from professional
backgrounds. Is Beals the type of person that should be on our
board? We talk to her in an in-depth interview.

The Elk Grove Unified School District
Board of Trustees is becoming more and more populated by highly
trained, skilled administrators with long standing ties to the
district. Members of Financial Advisory council, education
professionals. But our longest serving members were more homespun.
Though well educated, Theresa Beals
is just that: a mom, who wants to make a difference. She is running
against Carmine Forcina and incumbent Al Rowlett for the Area 7 seat.
As our interview progressed, we found
Beals to have a unique perspective. Her three children run the gamut
of needs within the educational system, from a special needs child to
GATE, or gifted and talented.
We got a chance to talk about her
views on the district, and her reasons for running.
[Listen to Beals Interview]
Our thanks to Theresa Beals,
candidate for EGSD's Board of Trustees Area 7. We also have
interviews of her opponents, Al Rowlett and Carmine Forcina.

Is the School Board a rubber stamp?
How can we fix labor problems? We ask Jake Rambo.
In this Edition:
Trustee Jake Rambo was appointed by
the sitting School Board, yet many of his endorsers call him the
independent voice for the board. Up for public election next week, we
interview Mr. Rambo in-depth. We ask many of the tough questions that
have been bothering voters, and put him to the test.

Jake Rambo is an administrative law
judge for the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board, and
was appointed last March to fill the seat of mid-term retiree from
the EGUSD Board of Trustees Priscilla Cox. Now, just 8 months later,
Rambo seeks approval of the voters for the decision handed down by
the School Board at his appointment proceeding. Interesting is the
fact that his lone opponent was one of the appointment candidates at
that time, Steve Ly, who we interviewed in a live program in
September. (Click Here)
We met with Mr. Rambo at his Mock
Trial classroom at Elk Grove High, where for many years he has
trained young people for Regional, State, and National law
competitions. Rambo pointed with pride to the many awards his teams
have won, and the high percentage of his former students that have
entered highly competitive fields – not just law, but medicine,
engineering, and others.
We asked Mr. Rambo what moved him to
apply for the board appointment last March that has led to this
election bid.
(Rambo Interview)
Our thanks to Jake Rambo,
candidate for EGUSD Board Area 6 this next election. You can connect
to the Rambo Campaign at www.ramboegusd.com

opponent Steve
