After a short break to take care of some family stuff, John & Kate have returned to finish discussing Season 5 of Orange is the New Black. This season has been an incredible mix of emotions full of difficult issues and lots of dark, raunchy humor. It's been a wild ride watching these actors have fun doing their job. Kudos to the writers and directors. If you haven't yet watched this show or this season... seriously get on the bus. There's nothing disappointing here. Unfortunately, I do not have a recap blog to go with these episodes. But the kids are going back to school, so this should help! After discussions about the season's end, John & I talk about what's been holding us up and open up about our personal lives. Thanks for listening. Click Here for the Blog Recap with Commentary It's been a long week full of family stuff, but we're getting caught up. This season has brought Fear the Walking Dead some more popularity, but it's still only 7.1/10 star on IMDB. Everything is on fire and shhh... Nick murdered a dude in cold blood. Apparently, Madison axed her own Pa. And Ofelia can stop a savage man in his tracks with one word... she sure is sexy. But she's a damn killer now too. WTH is going on here?? Coming soon: Our commentary on the recent episode of Married at First Sight & the Second Chances finale. And the final 3 episodes of Orange is the New Black Leave us some feedback
Click Here for the Full Blog Sorry for running a little behind this week; there's been some family stuff going on that takes priority. Well, Orange is the New Black Season 5 Episodes 9 & 10 are crazy intense. Graphic, disturbing, outrageous and downright funny. This week we learned just what kind of savage Piscatella really is. And that there are certain steps to test a finger out before a finger-ectomy that you just shouldn't skip. Fig & Caputo would probably be fuckin on the table in front of everyone if he didn't smell like the poo. And Taystee is just smart as hell. Join us for this wild ride on the Orange train. It's certainly a good time. We're breaking up the format to doing shorter episodes 1 topic at a time. Let us know what you think.

Check out what we found! Buy this awesome poster! Ep107 American Gods We're loosely recapping this week's episode and cracking up over Mad Sweeny's antics and famous quotes, romancing a past of 1700's England, and understanding Laura's crass and empty soul through "a spark of the same spirit", told through a coming to America story narrated by Ibis himself. This week on American Gods we got a really fascinating look into the Mad Sweeny universe. With a back story taking us from Ireland, to America, into London and finally Sweeny is settled in America all through the belief in leprechauns from a miss Essie Tregowan, or within the confines of the show -McGowan. Essie, who's red hair flows bright as a blazing fire, is played by our very own Emily Browning who also happens to play Laura. At this time, one may have reason to wonder if this is any sort of reincarnation and producers do say that they are a sparkle of the same spirit, but what, if any, part of the future this plays is completely unknown. The story of Essie is told in the our beloved original publication, is in many regards the same and in many more ways much different. In both she carries with her a belief in such things as fairies and leprechauns. One particular such leprechaun is the one and only Mad Sweeny who is attached to Essie for her faith. Essie over the years continued to call upon the leprechaun in prayer, leaving him always the last little bite of food or a plate of milk as an offering up to her magical creature. In times of hard her prayers were hard and the strength of those prayers bolstered luck in the life of the leprechaun, who in return sent luck back to dear Essie. And in good times, if prayers went forgotten, luck went unbegotten for both. When our little woman finds herself for a second time imprisoned for theft, this time deservingly, she is unknowingly celled adjacent to her leprechaun. Allowing for a conversation in which her thoughts give faith to a leprechaun as her king and as luck would have it, a means of avoidance of fate presents itself. Her faith no longer escaped her mind beyond that final escape from the gallows. And in the new world she lucks into as comfortable a servitude as one could ever imagine, eventually marrying her master and living out the her remaining days as the owner of the plantation she was purchased to serve. In her final moments of pumping blood filling her veins, her leprechaun pays her a final farewell with a face to face, demonstrating a level of comfort only faith can bring. LOVE WINE? Ep303 Fear the Walking Dead We're making general discussion over this week's episode of FTWD and complaining about the acting! Seriously. We can't walk away from this show. It's weird with how bad it is, it's like walking away from a loyalty or maybe we just wonder if we might miss something... but the acting is weird, unnatural and often lame or boring. The episode did prove that they can be really funny in the writing and not all the acting is atrocious. Alicia/Alycia is actually a joy and hello!! Now we have Dayton Callie. I'm also enjoying Daniel Sharman even though Troy is a weaselly mother fucker. There's been some interesting twists like Madison going from her pathetic attempt to make it seem like she fears Troy, to her volunteering to join forces with him on a rescue mission. Last week Troy had Nick, Luciana, and Travis lined up for the subject of his demented science project; now we see Nick and Troy rolling around in a brotherly playful-ish let's beat each other up and laugh about it fight. I can't wait to see what Luciana feels about this! And praise Jesus! Finally someone has some weed. After begrudgingly agreeing to a "bible study" with some other teens at the ranch, Alicia finds herself getting to be a regular person for a little while when they bunker down with a little booze, a bong, and a walker head asking questions from a birdcage. Disclaimer: Spoilers!! We do recaps, opinions, analysis and rants AFTER we watch the show. We're trying not to give too much away in advance, but anything aired is up for grabs. American Gods This week John & Kate recap, however un-chronologically, ep. 6 of American Gods - "A Murder of Gods". Hey! This was not in the book!! In this episode, we quite literally and for the first time see a murder of a god -TWICE! First Jesus then in infamous god of guns, Vulcan. Laura, Mad Sweeny, and Salim/not Salim become an unexpected and hilarious trio, all needing one another and bickering like kids stuck in the car on a road trip. Shadow is beginning to see things for what they are and Ricky Wittle is pulling of the big dumb guy role well. Ian McShane continues to blow his character, Mr. Wednesday out of the water with charm air of disturbing charm and some stellar sword swinging skills. This episode of American Gods has swung itself far out of the book with new characters, new scenes, and re-manufacturing of stories that breathe life into new beliefs. A town reminiscent of 1950's Germany targets us all in a topic very relevant to our modern society. And we learn "life is good." By now the actors have bloomed into their roles and they charm the socks off us at every turn. The cinematography continues to delight. LOVE WINE? Get artisan wines shipped right to your door and you'll be supporting the show at the same time! Fear the Walking Dead Season 3 double feature premiere! Oh yes! This is the most action we've seen from FTWD to date! It was a pleasure to have a little zombie action back in our lives. Sadly, neither of us are feeling much depth to these characters, even after witnessing some major suffering and loss. I know we're supposed to be seeing a regular, boring, American family from the beginning of it all, but why must they still be boring? If Strand dies - I say we riot!! We lost Travis, without Strand there's not much to see. SHOW US THE ZOMBIES!! Overall while we can't help but be obsessed with all things Walking Dead and will continue to watch the show just to see how things develop and intertwine, admittedly neither of us are driven by the dispassionate relationships of the characters. Maybe without Madison forced to pretend Travis is her soul mate, we will see something new come about. At the end we see Madison's poor excuse for grief and weird declaration to take the Broke Jaw Ranch by force if she needs be. Sorry Madison, I'm not feelin you. We're working to get you some LOOT!! Support the show through our Patreon <3 Married at First Sight Are Chicago couples of season 5 are the most reasonable bunch to date, but will they be in it for the long haul? Or will the experts see failed marriages #11, 12, & 13?? I have hopes for all three couples this season; everyone seems to be here for the right reasons and willing to listen to advice and work to get to know each other. Shelia & Nate seem to have smoothed out some initial wrinkles. Nate, in the matching, wedding, and honeymoon episodes didn't leave us feeling like there was any hope for this pair!! He's grown on me significantly, but John is still highly doubtful that Nate has it in him to be understand the gravity of marriage... in Nate's defense, John's missed 3-4 episodes :) These two seem to be growing together and falling in the love thing if you ask me... Ashly & Anthony seem to be moving right along. Maybe her need to control her environment and protect her feminism and identity will bring about some harsh realities for her. Anthony has a passive manner toward, understand of and patience with her; he is highly aware of her mood at all times and seems to still see that she is an amazing woman. I'm hoping he can find his mojo for communicating with her and she can learn that it's ok to give in when you find someone willing to give you security to do so. Cody & Danielle still no consummation!! "I went to shrink... ...she says it's lack of sex that's bringing me down." Between talks of starting off as friends, lack of manliness, and looking for a spark, these two are working around the clock. Up at the crack of dawn and in bed exhausted barely before midnight... it's no wonder these two haven't had a chance to hook-up! They seem to like each other, have a lot in common, and communicate well. Hopefully they're busy making the time to get busy as I type this! The RandimoniuMart is a real thing! And the store is being filled with ways to show your Bad-Ass of a Dad how much you appreciate him!
