I remember watching this film a long time ago and fo7nd it very boring. Totally didn't get it.
just LISTENING to Cecil and Not Cecil talk about the plot of The Sixth Sense makes me feel teary-eyed. I don't know if I'm ready to cry yet but I'm definately bookmarking this movie to watch for later.
The movie is a commentary on the mistreatment of "abnormal" looking people, not "Queer" people. Why is everything about sexuality/race with you guys. Saying, "White, straight people, am I right?" isn't as insightful as you treat it as, especially coming from 2 white dudes (even if Cecil is gay)

I really think you're being far too sympathetic to this main character. It's a brilliant depiction of an awful husband and an awful man, and it's a shame to hear you defending him as an ultimately good guy. Also, the problem with the line about Catholics and Protestants is that the situation in Ireland *isn't* a religious issue but one of colonialism. That's why Gal is mad about it. Not because he's obsessed with the schisms of white Christians.
I love the idea that the whole movie is a fastasy/delusion of Jay. It’s the only logical explanation for the frankly nonsensical ending.
