Read the Roster is a podcast hosted by two brothers that love to talk some football. Ross and Reade hop on the mics each week to discuss all things college and NFL. From the games, the superstars, playoffs, the NFL draft and everything in between, the rabbit hole never ends in this ever changing sport. Join us as we discuss game previews and recaps during the season and top news stories during the offseason.

It’s SUPER SLATE SATURDAY!! There’s ranked matches everywhere this week and the guys hop back on the mics to make sense of it all. Can Florida State assert itself as the new big dog of the ACC as they head to Clemson? Jimbo Fisher might be on a thin leash if he loses to Auburn at home this week. Colorado gets its first true test taking on Oregon. Utah hosts UCLA in Cam Tiding’s first game back for the Utes. Can Ole Miss take advantage of a reeling Alabama squad? Will Texas slip up against Baylor on the road? To close, the guys talk about the ugly nature of the Penn State/Iowa matchup and how Ohio State and Notre Dame matchup in the game of the week.
Ross and Reade hop on the mics to discuss a pretty quiet week 3. Florida State and Penn State go on the road for what should be easy wins. Do they take care of business? Kansas State and Mizzou square off in an old Big 12 matchup. LSU looks to start of SEC play undefeated vs Mississippi State. Georgia gets its first real test versus South Carolina. Can Minnesota take advantage of a bad UNC defense to keep it close? Tennessee looks to take advantage of a down Florida team on the road. To close, the guys discuss Georgia Tech’s ability to keep it close against Ole Miss. And then Colorado gets some bulletin board material ahead of their in state rivalry with Colorado State.
HE’S BAAAAAAAAAACK! Back like he never left, Reade is able to hop back on the mics with Ross to discuss week 1 of the NFL season as the guys watch the Chiefs/Lions square off on Thursday Night Football. Panthers and Falcons look to start off on the right path in what is a down NFC South. Dolphins and Chargers could play whoever scores last wins in their matchup. Steelers and 49ers square off in a battle of two really good defenses. The guys talk about the Battle of Mid. To close, the guys discuss how good the Giants and Cowboys actually are as they will matchup on Sunday night. And finally, Aaron Rodgers looks to kick off his Jets career with a tough divisional matchup against Josh Allen and the Bills.
Ross hops back on the mic with Reade unfortunately absent again. Ross reacts to Colorado, Florida State and Duke winning big on opening weekend. Then to kick off week 2, Ross previews a very interesting noon slate of games with Notre Dame/NC State, Utah/Baylor, and Nebraska/Colorado. Will Colorado start 2-0 in Deion’s inaugural season in Boulder? At the 3:30 window, Texas A&M look to beat Miami on the road, the annual Cy-Hawk game between Iowa and Iowa State, and Ole Miss takes on Tulane in what could be the sneakiest game of the weekend. To close, Ross talks Bama vs Texas and how maybe people are too high on the Longhorns.
THE SEASON IS HERE!! Football is back and everything is right with the world. Ross hops back on the mic to discuss all the week 1 action. How does Matt Rhule look in his first game at Nebraska? Florida has a chance to prove their headed in the right direction with a tough road game at Utah. Washington can’t get caught sleeping against a good Boise State team. Penn State looks to have an impressive start to what could be a historic season. North Carolina and South Carolina square off in a battle of the states. Then Ross talks about what could be one of the biggest matchups of the year in LSU/Florida State and the potential these two teams have and what it could mean for their chances for a spot in the CFP. To close, Ross talks about Clemson/Duke and how both teams might be a little underrated this year.

In his absence, friends of the show Santi and Jordan hop on the mics with Ross to discuss their hot takes for the 2023 college football season. Then the guys give their input on the current state of conference realignment.
IT’S SHOWTIME! Ross and Reade hop on the mics to talk some big bowl matchups. Following that, they jump right in to the New Years Six games. Couple of good ones and a couple no one really knows what to think of. Can Tulane and Kansas St accomplish the impossible? Then the guys close out with their playoff review. Michigan seems like a shoe in and Georgia and Ohio State will go to war to determine who moves on.
THEY'RE BAAAAACK!! After a 3 week hiatus Ross and Reade hop back on the mics to discuss the final weeks of the season and the final Playoff Rankings. The guys give their thoughts on the 4 playoff teams and if the committee got the top 25 right. To close, they discuss the New Years Six matchups and share their takes on the Heisman finalists.
It's time to see who the pretenders are and who the contenders are! Ross and Reade hop on the mics to discuss all things Week 11. Can the Bengals continue their offensive success against the Steelers with TJ Watt back in the lineup? Will we see a blizzard game in Buffalo? How do the Eagles bounce back after dropping their first loss of the season? Jets look to get revenge over the Patriots in Boston. Raiders and Broncos face off for bottom of the AFC West after starting the season with high aspirations. Cowboys look to right the ship as they travel to take on the Vikings. To close, the guys talk about 49ers and Cardinals and what their future could look like with McCaffery in the mix.
THE PLAYOFFS LOOM LARGE! Ross and Reade hop on the mics to discuss 2 important west coast matchups and the outlook of the main playoff contenders. Will USC stay alive in the conversation as they take on UCLA on the road. Oregon looks to bounce back after a devastating loss to Washington as they host Utah. Georgia, Ohio St, Michigan, TCU and Tennessee seem to be our most likely candidates for the 4 spots, but who will fill them? None of these 5 teams play a cupcake this week and will face teams anxious to take down a giant. Sleepwalking will do you no favors. Do Clemson, UNC, Oregon and USC have legitimate arguments to have a spot? Will LSU become the first 2 loss team to make it if they can beat Georgia? So much is still up in the air and the guys try to make sense of it all.
Week 9 was about what we expected. Ross and Reade hop on the mics to discuss what should be a more competitive week 10. The Bucs look to salvage their season as they head to Germany to take on Geno Smith and the Seahawks. Vikings and Bills face off in what could be a possible Super Bowl matchup. But will Josh Allen play? Browns face the Dolphins in their last matchup without Deshaun Watson. Giants look to rebound in what's been an incredible season. Colts and Raiders face off in the disappointment bowl. To close, the guys discuss 2 good primetime matchups. Chargers and 49ers go head to head with two of the most versatile running backs in the league. Then the guys discuss the possibility of the Eagles dropping their first loss of the season against the Commanders.
WEEK 10 COULD BE ONE OF THE BEST WEEKS OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL WE'VE EVER SEEN. Bama, Tennessee and Clemson go down! Ross and Reade hop on the mics to discuss the ramifications of week 10 and what it means for week 11. Is Clemson out of the playoff race? What about Tennessee? The guys discuss what's been a disappointing season for Alabama as they drop a tough loss to LSU on the road. TCU remains unbeaten and goes to 4th in the new CFP rankings. Week 11 isn't as star studded, but things will continue to iron themselves out. Ole Miss looks to stay in the race for the SEC West as they host a reeling Alabama squad. LSU looks to keep the fire going against Arkansas. Clemson looks to right the ship after an ugly loss to Notre Dame as they host Louisville. Washington and Oregon face the biggest stakes this game has seen in years. Texas looks to ruin TCU's season. To close, the guys discuss UCF vs Tulane in a battle of two of the top Group of 5 teams trying to fight for a New Year's Six game.
NFL week 9 doesn't have too many crazy matchups but anything can happen! Ross and Reade hop on the mics to discuss all things week 9. Four of the top AFC teams go head to head as the playoff race starts to take shape. Bills take on the Jets on the road. Can the Jets defense slow down this electric Bills offense? Then for Sunday Night Football, the guys discuss Derrick Henry vs this Chiefs defense and how can the Titans slow down Mahomes and Kelce.
TWO RIVALRIES COULD DETERMINE THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF RACE! Ross and Reade hop on the mics to talk a insanely top heavy week 10. Oregon St and Washington battle it out to see who can challenge Oregon for the Pac-12 North. Florida and Texas A&M look to save their seasons in an all important matchup. Georgia and Tennessee take the field in the biggest SEC East matchup in decades. Alabama and LSU face off in their rivalry game in primetime as LSU tries to win the SEC West in Brian Kelly's first year. Texas faces a Kansas St team who tore Oklahoma St to pieces last week, watch out for the Wildcats. Notre Dame looks to knock off Clemson at home. To close, the guys discuss Wake Forest and NC State's matchup as they look to bounce back from rough performances last week.
The NFL makes no sense!!! Ross and Reade hop on the mics to take their best guesses on these week 8 matchups. Ravens look to keep the Bucs rough season going. Falcons and Panthers battle it out for the lead of the NFC South. Vikings look to solidify their spot as the best team in the NFC North against the Cardinals. Jets look to get a huge win in division against the Patriots. 49ers and Rams fight for top dog in the NFC West. To close, the guys discuss the great seasons the Seahawks and Giants are having and who will take a tough loss and Bengals and Browns look to have a fiery divisional matchup on Monday Night Football.
It's all starting to fall in to place! Ross and Reade hop on the mics to discuss the start of the final stretch of the CFB season. Ohio St gets its first true road test as they visit Penn St. Syracuse looks to keep their dream season alive hosting Notre Dame. Florida will try to play spoiler to Georgia in the annual World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail party matchup. Oklahoma St and Kansas St fight to see who's capable of challenging TCU for the conference. Kentucky hits the road and will hope Tennessee is looking ahead to next week's game against Georgia. Finally the guys discuss Michigan vs Michigan St and Texas A&M looking to right the ship against Ole Miss after a tough loss to South Carolina.
We're 2 weeks away from the NFL season being halfway over!! Ross and Reade hop on the mics to discuss a put up or shut up kind of week in the NFL. Bengals look to continue their offensive success, while the Falcons continue to show grit and play as a team. Dak Prescott is BACK!! Colts look to do everything they can to stop Derrick Henry. What's up with the Bucs and the Packers? Giants look to get win number 6 against a reeling Jags team. Jets look to take advantage of a dysfunctional Broncos squad. To close, the guys discuss 2 lackluster primetime matchups, especially on Monday Night Football.

Alabama will be looking to right the ship as they host Miss St. To close, the guys discuss a TCU team that's come out of nowhere as they host a Kansas St run game that's as dominant as any in the country.
