Note: This episode was recorded several months before it was published, so the story I tell from my life is a little outdated, but I believe it has value and can still be an encouragement to you.  Have you ever prayed for something for a really long time, hoped for it, even thought God was promising it to you...only for the door to be slammed in your face or the thing to be yanked away? That's what we're talking about in this eposide. We dive deep into the pain, frustration, and even anger that can overwhelm us when God answers our prayers with a firm "no." Believe it or not, God can use these situations to grow our faith and trust in Him and to turn us into the people He's called us to be. Discover the steps you can take to keep from spiraling or throwing in the towel when things don't go your way. Oh, and learn all about (probably more than you want to know!) the book publishing industry and my career history and setbacks. Warning: I get really vulnerable in this episode and might even get a little choked up. If that makes you uncomfortable, you might want to skip the middle. ;)
We all face discouragment, disappointment, pain, and suffering in our lives. So how do we keep being obedient servants of God and steward well the resources, family, and talents he's given us - even in the bad times? That's exaclty what I'm discussing in this episode of the podcast. Click play for my four main tips to keep on keepin' on when things get tough. Link to my prayer journal: Read. Pray. Do you have a habit of compartmentalizing your life? Me, too. But, as Christian women - especially Christian moms or women in business - we shouldn't keep God confined to just one area of our life. How do your spiritual gifts and natural talents and abilities fit into your work? And how can you use them to glorify God? In this episode, I'm answering those questions and diving into what it looks like (in a real, tactical way) to bring God into your work...whatever "work" means for you. It's an age-old (and hotly debated) question: Should women work outside the home? In this episode, Paige is diving into what the Bible says about the role of women (and men), what part the Holy Spirit plays in this decision, and some examples of extraordinary Biblical women. So, what's the answer? You'll have to listen to find out! Do you feel like God's calling you to more, but you don't know where to start? Check out Read. Pray. Act.: How to Overcome Discouragement & Follow God's Plan for Your Life to learn the small things you can do to take those big leaps of faith.
