The Wondering Women and I read Ghost Cities (published by UQP Books) for our August read. It was a reread for me and gosh I am SO glad I had the opportunity. Proper genius!!!! Siang has won the Miles Franklin and you had better believe I asked about what that feels like. Loved this opportunity, don't mind the swearing or my mispronunciation of Siang's name (honestly despite having practiced all day..) just go with it And to join our ReadA Book community head on over ...
Could not put this novel down! I could not work out who had killed celebrity surgeon Richard Wellington, but gosh I was going someone had! A more unlikable victim I don't think I'll ever meet! I suspected every single one of the neighbours..as did (I think) Liv Elliot our protagonist, including her teenage daughter..what a novel! Could not put this novel down and completely messaged Sam Guthrie at 5 in the morning after being completely half awake thinking about The Peak all night...so so clever, so atmospheric, so engrossing..but also so human, so much about friendship and love and all the mixed tapes... I LOVED it and the chance to chat with Sam Guthrie..so so so cool! Here when you need to talk through the state of China in the world today! And to join our ReadA Book community head on over to www.readab...
I had to record this chat on my phone I am sorry to have to admit. The quality of the audio does not do justice to the remarkable-ness of the novel or Sarah I am sorry. I just loved the novel though, and the chat...I didn't want to have missed out..laptop is back on track now! And to join our ReadA Book community head on over to www.readabook.com.au. The Palazzo gave me all the feels, you don't know who has been killed or who is the killer..it's a group of family and friends staying at a luxurious palazzo behaving badly..you had better believe I was there for this story! It feels like everyone in my feed is overseas at the moment so this was (almost) the next best thing! SO warm, SO much good eating and drinking, SO much time by the pool...such a great winter read! I loved The Palazzo and chatting with Kayte Nunn just reinforced tha...
I adored Cockatoo Cove and the chat I got to have with Maya Linnell. I turn into a tree change wanta be I think whenever I read a Maya Linnell; small Australian rural town living sounds perfect! And if that meant running into Scottish winemakers reading Outlander..well when can I move? I am loving her Limestone Coast series and I am sure Cockatoo Cove is my favourite..we get the story of Fergus the Scotsman and Maggie who I love... I could chat to Michael Thompson all day every day, I am a huge fan of his novels and could not have loved All The Perfect Days more. I can't even imagine what I would do with the ability to see how many days a person had left to live; would you warn? Watch? Ignore...what a premise for a novel! Through in a small town and a love of a life and goodness me; I am there!!! Loved it!!! And to join our ReadA Book community head on over to www.readabook.com.au. We are a wonderful collective of...

I had never heard of depersonalisation prior to hearing Nathan's experience, and gosh I am glad I have. I think this is just such a generous memoir and I am so glad I read it. Nathan was exactly as I pictured he would be, I really loved our chat! I took out lots of chitchat, but I did leave in the 'what do you call it when as a reader you know you can just settle in and enjoy..' chat there must be a term for it; like bookish hygge....hahaha I also realised on my last listen throug...
What a fun chat this was! I really loved Whiskey Valley, I love the Southern Highlands of NSW and loved all the eating and drinking that was being done while a murder was being solved! Definitely my way to investigate crime!! It was a real treat to get to chat with Joan Sauers, and I could have kept going all day...I did take lots of our chitchat out, but you had better believe I left in the part where Dave gets to be the bagpiper in the movie/ TV series..that *may* be something Joan needs to...
Gosh I loved this book and chat, loved Georgia! What Would I Do to You imagines an Australia that has brought back capital punishment, with the stipulation that it is the victims family that have to do it themselves...talk about a premise!!!!! I also got to find out more about Georgia's important role as an Author Ambassador with Chapters for Change; an incredible charity to combat Cambodia's high illiteracy rate. The Readathon is just around the corner and it is honestly the most fanta...

This was a novel that caught me by surprise; light and fun but weeks later I am still thinking about these people..OK characters that aren't actually alive, but they definitely feel real to me. I loved chatting with Lauren. Obviously Calendar Mums is no debut; I can't wait to dive into some of her other novels! Such a fun chat And to join our ReadA Book community head on over to www.readabook.com.au. We are a wonderful collective of like minded book lovers where you can mix and mingle and be,...

I LOVED this chat, I don't believe I asked a single question, it was just such a great conversation I am leaving it as is! What a novel! What an author! I loved it!!!
