S2 Episode 9: For Better or for Worse

Marriage is a journey that is eternal, a moment to moment opportunity to love and be loved to the best of your ability: 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.... " - 1 Corinthians 13:4 - 8a (NIV) But what happens when our marriage is struggling? When we as individuals are struggling? When our relationship is NOT 50/50? Join Catherine, Gina and Kristen for this meaningful conversation on how God intended marriage to be and when it gets difficult..... for better and for worse. S2 Episode 8: Unlocking the Psalms

The book of Psalms is not Fast Food! It is meant to come back to again and again, slowly digest and meditate on them. This book is considered to be the most widely read and highly treasured of all the books in the Old Testament. In fact, this book is the one Jesus quoted from the most. The book of Psalms are a gift to us! It gives us great insight into God's nature as well as shows how He responds in the moment, and over time, to our prayers, our pain and our joy. The Psalms have a special ability to put words to our emotions and language to our experiences. They help us to both process how we are feeling and how to bring it to God. Powerful book!! So how do we "decode" the Psalms to better understand them? Understand why they speak to us so powerfully? Join Catherine as she speaks with J.C. Schroeder (fellow Podcaster and expert on the Psalms) about the poetry and power of the book of Psalms and ways we can use them in our everyday lives.  Episode Notes: In this episode, we refer to the below topics that were covered in more detail in these previous episodes: I'm a Sheep! S2 Episode 7: Hannah and Her Sisters

Faith. Hope. Waiting. Patience. Pain. Resilience. When experiencing a lengthy trial, this can describe the cycle we all walk through. In 1 Samuel chapter one, we learn about Hannah's trial: Struggling with infertility for years.   The Bible refers to this difficult time (intensity meets long duration) as "Bitterness of Soul" (1 Samuel 1:10). It's the time that God is working in our lives to bring about a greater result. While we cannot predict what the outcome will be, we aspire to walk through this "Bitterness of Soul" with our eyes on God.  This is how the story of Hannah, the mother of the prophet Samuel begins, but what makes her story admirable is her response to the pain and the prophetic joy that can occur when you open your soul to God. Join Catherine and Kristen as they parallel this powerful Bible story to Kristen's own story of infertility and struggle (aka Hannah's Sister).  We release a new episode every Wednesday -- subscribe to be notified of new releases!  If you enjoyed this episode, please share this podcast with a friend as well as rate and review our show. S2 Episode 6: Faith on Autopilot

Have you ever felt that your faith was in a rut?  Where you seem to be fairly complacent in your faith and coasting? We have all had times where our faith seems to be on "autopilot" (i.e. we pray the same prayers, read the same verses, listen to the same songs, etc). One key word is THE SAME. The Bible is very clear when it comes to complacency and luke warm faith (Revelation 3:16). There is definitely a place for ritual and routine in our faith walk, but it is important for us to continue to mature in our faith. God's desire is for us to continue to expand our faith -- and be an active participant. If we keep going to God, we keep growing in God. Join Catherine, Gina and Kristen as they examine 3 ways to rescue our faith from the autopilot cycle. S2 From the Vault - Fan Favorite: The Wrestling Match

We are back NEXT WEEK with a New Episode (August 3rd)! There is purpose in the struggle -- and in the wrestling match. This episode received much feedback related to our struggles and to some degree God's Will. At times when we are struggling, it's hard to see how God is shaping and molding us through the Wrestling Match.  In this episode, Catherine, Gina and Kristen explore Jacob's journey to becoming Israel through an all night, life changing wrestling match with God.  He aims to refine our character and can even use our brokenness to accomplish His purposes. Join us for a fascinating conversation about transition, growth and becoming who God desires us to be -- all through a wrestling match.  It would mean the world to us if you would share this podcast with a friend as well as rate and review our show. S2 From The Vault - Catherine's Pick: The Faith Choice

New Episode will be back August 3rd! This week, we are featuring a favorite past episode of Catherine's where we dive deep into choosing faith over feeling. "Ive always been fascinated with the concept of walking by faith and not by sight -- fighting the temptation to only rely on what we can see. God's presence and power can appear invisible when our circumstances seem overwhelming, but we must push back and fight the temptation to walk only by sight (or what's visible). I selected this episode because I love the idea of not just believing in GOD but believing GOD that He WILL get us to the other side (Mark 5:1 NLV). I love the reminder in hard times that He is faithful -- and that we need to also make the choice to be faithful (aka The Faith Choice)."  It would mean the world to us if you would share this podcast with a friend as well as rate and review our show. S2 From The Vault - Kristen's Pick: Deep Calls to Deep

New Episode will be back August 3rd! Don't miss this gem from last year - this week is Kristen's pick: "I chose this episode because we talk about how desperate we can feel when times are tough.  It's just when we think things couldn’t get any more challenging… boom, something else happens. We compare it to being in the ocean and feeling like you’re drowning as you are smacked by yet another wave. It’s in these moments of desperation when God can do some of his best work, he meets us where we are 'when deep calls out to deep' and provides the strength we need to keep swimming. I think this is a very relatable topic for those times when we feel like we  can’t catch a break." -- Kristen Join us as we explore Psalm 42:7 and discuss what it looks like when the depth of our emotional pain is matched with the depth of God's character, ability to comfort and heal It's a powerful and personal discussion that brings hope and encouragement.  Be sure to subscribe, rate and review this podcast to find our latest episodes and to help us reach more women in need.  To learn more about us, go to reboundingfaith.com and follow us @reboundingfaithpodcast on Instagram and Facebook. S2 From The Vault - Gina's Pick: If I Could Only

This week we are featuring a favorite past episode of Gina's. One simple word: Comparisons.  Comparison can be the thief of all joy - so why do we do it? If you can identify with the struggle of not feeling good enough or worthy, if comparing yourself and not measuring up is a theme for you or someone you know - this episode will resonate with you. It's at these times, we have to remind ourselves that we are the daughter of God, loved and created uniquely with purpose. Catherine, Gina and Kristen look at the dangers of comparing and contrasting ourselves with others and how our individual gifts play an important part in the Body of Christ.  Let's say enough to the word "enough" and to the phrase "If I could only...."  Join us!  We release an episode every Wednesday!   Be sure to subscribe, rate and review this podcast to find our latest episodes and to help us reach more women in need.  To learn more about us, go to reboundingfaith.com and follow us @reboundingfaithpodcast on Instagram and Facebook. S2 Episode 5: A Piece of Peace

It has been said that surrender is a journey from the outer turmoil to the inner peace. The peace we hold in our hearts is probably one of the most difficult parts of our faith. In order to obtain the peace that Jesus promises, we must first let go of our own will and surrender to His. John 14:27 says , "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." There is a process to walking in peace; it starts with accepting God's Will, then surrendering to His will and finally trusting that God has a purpose in your pain. Finding and walking on that "Blessable Path"! Join Catherine, Gina and Kristen as they dig deep into one of Faith's most difficult questions: How do we obtain and sustain peace? Is there such a thing as a "Piece of Peace"? Episode Notes: In this episode, we refer to the below topic: The Old Hymn: "It is Well With My Soul". S2 Episode 4: Well Watered Garden

Are you a gardener with a green thumb? Even if you don't appreciate gardening, you will likely agree that the difference between a "Sun Scorched Land" and a "Well Watered Garden" comes down to one thing: Water.  Life can become like this desolate "sun scorched" place: intense heat with little water. However, God can meet us there and refresh our souls. "Living Water" is referred to 19 times in the NIV translation. This water is the answer to times of "spiritual drought" where our souls have become dry and thirsty. We learn in Isaiah 58:11 about both a Sun Scorched Land and a Well Watered Garden.  We see that when we live in a sun-scorched land, our thirst can only truly be satisfied by following God's Word and living for His 'glory'. When we do this in faith, we have peace, joy and become like a "Well Watered Garden"  that will overflow life and truth onto others in need of a drink. Be refreshed this week! Join Catherine, Gina and Kristen as they discuss this well-watered garden God has planned for you and examine what is needed to keep the water flowing. Episode Notes: In this episode, we refer to the below topic that was covered in more detail in this previous episode: S1 Episode 22: Valley of Tears (how God's unending faithfulness can lead us out of our darkest valleys). S2 Episode 3: The Heart Start

Inward change leads to outward action -- but it all starts in the heart mixed with a bit of curiosity and determination. A small seed planted there that desires peace, joy, and to experience the promises of God first hand. The story of Zacchaeus the Tax Collector (Luke 19:1-10)  illustrates when curiosity meets determination how your life can be changed in a powerful way. He climbed a Sycamore tree so he could just see Jesus passing by from a distance, but Jesus had other plans: An Encounter with God. What "tree" are we willing to climb to have an encounter with God? Jeremiah 29:13 tells us that when we seek God with all our heart, we will find Him. Zacchaeus did just that and shows us that Curiosity + Determination = Encounter with God.  Join Catherine, Gina and Kristen as they examine how when our curiosity about Jesus is paired with our determination, we will find the truth we seek. S2 Episode 2: The Road Less Traveled

Have you ever walked along a narrow path on the side of a mountain or crossed a bridge with danger on both sides? When you put your trust in God, you are walking "The Narrow Path" that leads to life, and life more abundant. Matthew 7:13-14 states "Broad is the road that leads to destruction, but small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life". In our lives, we can be tempted to veer off the path and be lured over to the wider, so called "easier" route but we soon see that this road does not leave us fulfilled, satisfied and overflowing. God knows it can be difficult to journey on the narrow path so He promises guidance and protection:  Psalm 32: 8 says, “...I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” Join Catherine, Gina and Kristen as they examine what it takes to walk on the narrow path and learn that it is the road to a truly fulfilled, joyful and overflowing life. Imagine being adrift at sea -- one moment being pushed into unsafe waters and the next being tossed into the rocks. Life can certainly feel this way at times if we are not anchored by something strong: Our hope and faith.  Hebrews 6:19 describes it as "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure."  Life's roughest storms have a way of proving the strength of our anchors.  Join Catherine, Gina and Kristen as they explore how hope can be our anchor and how His promises can defeat hopelessness in our lives.  Episode Notes: FREE GIFT TO OUR LISTENERS! Episode 30: For-Give and For-Gift

Are you carrying something that is hard to let go? An offense committed that is robbing you of your peace? Whether it is releasing yourself or another from a transgression, healing and peace are found in forgiveness. The Bible refers to forgiveness a total of 121 times in both the old and new testament -- which speaks to its importance. But Why is it so important? What are the benefits of forgiveness? What is it-- and what is it not? Join Catherine, Gina and Kristen as they tackle this critical topic and explore how this "gift"  can be a key to peace and tips on how to finally let go.  Episode Notes: In this episode, we refer to the below topic that was covered in more detail in this previous episode: Loving Difficult People {Discusses HOW to love our enemies (or difficult people) in our lives as well as how to show compassion toward them. Episode 29: Coming Up Roses

Do you ever feel like you are in a tough spot of which no foreseeable good can come from it?  When we are in this "place", there are two phrases that come to mind: "What was meant for evil, God will use for good" or another popular worldly expression is "Everything's Coming Up Roses". What do these really mean and how do they apply to our faith? One key verse that references this concept: Genesis 50:20 “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” This verse provides us comfort and hope in knowing God is in control and His desire is always for our highest good.   Be encouraged and join us this week as Catherine, Gina and Kristen take a personal look at how God uses our everyday challenges to help mold our character into His perfect vision. Episode 28: Loving Difficult People

Sometimes certain people in our lives can be difficult to love and demonstrate kindness toward. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you' (Luke 6:31) or 'Turn the other cheek' (Luke 6:29) - We may know these phrases well, but what does it really look like to show compassion and love toward difficult people in difficult situations? Even more perplexing is HOW do we do this? Join Catherine, Gina and Kristen as they explore our natural responses to conflict as well as the historical Biblical context of the above verses which reveal restraint and generosity are a sign of strength, not weakness.  They offer key tips that will draw us closer to God's Will (40:20 mark) as well as help us manage the destructive nature of difficult people.  1) Have a soft answer 2a) Pray and ask for strength  2b) Choose to love from wisdom and strength received in prayer 3) When angry, forgive 4) Exhibit grace 5) Accept that others may see you as the difficult person Romans 12:18 - If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
