Jesus is the sole Redeemer. Yet all the elect cooperate with Him in this work. We do this in a secondary dependent sense and by participation in Christ. The more holiness you acquire, the more you can help others. There is nothing greater you can do for someone than to cooperate in their salvation. Our Lady’s role is far greater than all the angels and saints combined and qualitatively different from how we “fill up those things that are wanting of the sufferings of Christ.” (Col 1:24).

Our Lady of Montallegro in Ramalla Italy (1557) was brought by angels from Greece. Carmelite monks in Vilnius, Lithuania built a chapel to honor Our Lady at the Gate of the Dawn. And Mary promised a particular grace of devotion to all who venerated her image of Our Lady of Confidence, especially with the aspiration ‘My Mother, my confidence.” Our Lady will continue to work great miracles through those images which she chooses. After all, as St. John Eudes teaches, Jesus Himself teaches devotion to the Immaculate Heart of His most holy Mother.

We are each called to cooperate in His Redemption. Mary participates in the redemption as we do, but to a much greater degree. Moreover, she then also cooperates uniquely in Christ's redemptive work via her divine maternity and her sorrows. It is by His passion and death that Christ saves us. Our Lady's compassion with Christ had the same character of sacrifice and expiation as Our Lord's passion. In fact, God willed that Our Lady's sorrows form an integral part of Christ's saving passion.

This is happening throughout the entire Church. The canonical processes which are intended to uphold truth and justice have become blatantly corrupt. Some of the very worst pastors are being placed into high positions of power. It is imperative that we pray for the Church. Pray for the conversion of the hierarchy. And support your faithful priests! An extremely powerful prayer is the Rosary, but we must use it well. While the Rosary consists of both meditative and vocal prayer, it is the mental prayer which we so often neglect. As we pray, we are to contemplate the virtues and chief mysteries of the life, death, and glory of Jesus Christ and His most Holy Mother.

We must fight against this heresy with all our strength. In brief, liberalism is the error that man (as an individual or as a society) has the right to decide the norms by which he will regulate his life, that he is the arbiter of right and wrong, or that he may think and believe whatsoever he wills. The truth is that ALL things - visible and invisible – were created in Christ, by Christ, and for Christ (Col 1:16). Everything without exception must be subject to Christ and serve Him. This betrayal is worse than that of Judas; it breaks the hearts of faithful Catholics.

One of these is the icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, located today in the Church of St. Alphonsus in Rome. The order he founded, the Redemptorists, have done much to promote this devotion after it was already greatly venerated in the East. St. Luke painted it on a table top crafted by Our Lord. The image was blessed by Our Lady, and she promised: “My grace will accompany it.” In this icon, Mary directs us to her Son. The Child contemplates His future passion, as the archangels present the instruments of His torture. Nevertheless, the icon conveys Christ’s triumph over sin and death. May we grow in devotion to Our Lady under this title.

In fact, her deeds and prayers and deeds serve as a powerful example and inspiration. May we each grow in our desire to be devoted to her.

The saints mastered this devotion because they meditated upon Our Lord’s Passion. For example, consider St. Bridget of Sweden and St. Veronica Giuliani. They teach that nothing helps us hate sin more and love Jesus above all things than looking upon Him covered in blood and wounds for our sake. Jesus’ sacrifice and His Precious Blood are present to us at Holy Mass. Adore, thank, and pray to the Precious Blood, for it has infinite power to sanctify, expiate, protect and intercede. Two questions to ask yourself: How often during Mass do I look upon Jesus who is truly present? What have I suffered out of love for Jesus?

The natural fruit of religion is sacrifice. Today we apply this prayer to marriage. In marriage, God call us to renounce ourselves (our senses, passions, will, judgment) for the good of spouse and children. If you are not sacrificing in your marriage, how can you sacrifice to God? Self will spoils and corrupts marriage. Spouses must crucify the ‘old self’ and be motivated by the desire to do God’s will.
