Reel Critical

In this latest episode of Reel Critical, I give you my raw, fresh out of the theater reaction to Magazine Dreams. This movie happens to star my favorite working actor, Johnathan Majors. But I promise I'm not biased, he's just that good.

I recorded this episode over a year ago. Unfortunately, the file was lost and I've been trying to recover it since the day I recorded. We go into heavy spoilers about the second Spider-Verse film. In this episode, we talk (spoiler free by the way) about the movie of the year: Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse. This movie touched me in so many different ways and reminded me why I love movies so much. I adored every single frame of this movie. The creators took such wonderful care of Miles and every other character in the movie. I can not wait for the final movie, Beyond the Spider-Verse. But before we get ahead of ourselves, go get tickets to see it!!!! I also give brief reviews on The Little Mermaid and Guardians Vol. 3 . Let's get into it!!!!!

Today I talk about a film that I've loved since I was a kid. Admittedly, I probably had no business watching this at 6 years old. Anyway, I think this film deserves more recognition that it gets because of it's performances. It dives into the lives of Frankie Lymon and his three previous wives. They fight over the rights to his estate after his death. The film is full of fantastic performances, great music and some really good comedic moments. I think it's something that lots of people will enjoy if they give it a chance. And Larenz Tate is absolutely phenomenal in the role of Frankie.
