Should The Wizard of Oz be remade?

When I first heard that New Line Cinema was in the process of doing a Wizard of Oz remake, like many people, my initial reaction was “No.” Why are we doing this? In my mind, The Wizard of Oz is a classic and does not need to be remade. I have been watching the 1939 version for literally as long as I can remember.  However, as I thought about it more, my opinion started to evolve to think that maybe it’s not the worst idea in the world.  In this episode we’ll talk about the history of the Wizard of Oz, its numerous remakes and adaptations (because this one was not the first and most definitely will not be the last), and the lasting legacy of the 1939 version of the classic. Becoming Lucy? Should Nicole Kidman play Lucille Ball?

In this episode, we’ll discuss Lucy’s early career, the “I Love Lucy” show, and actresses that may have, well probably, have been a better choice to play the legend.  The Aaron Sorkin project about Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, their marriage and their iconic 1950s television show “I Love Lucy” has actually been in the works for a while and was originally supposed to star Cate Blanchette. Cate is no longer associated with the project for unknown reasons. However, Nicole Kidman is now in negotiations to play the comedienne and Javier Bardem is slated to play Desi Arnaz. Judy Garland Biopic (2019) - Why it's so problematic

Judy Garland was undoubtedly a legend and the 2019 movie "Judy" tried to capture that. However, as far as biopics go this movie falls pretty short.  This video discussed what the movie got right and what it got wrong. Renee Zellweger won the Oscar for this movie, but does she deserve it? Judy's daughters, Liza Minnelli and Lorna Luft didn't bother to watch this movie, and I understand why.
