After watching the first ever winter love island (2020) series, we just had to kickstart The Refined Eight Podcast by talking about Shaughna and Leanne. Refined Eight is for girls and women and we know a lot of girl relate to Shaughna and Leanne. We just had to come on here and have some girl talk. From Leanne and Mike, her fear of men, situationships, self sabotage to Shaughna and Callum + Molly and the Casa Amor situation, Shaughna's insecurities and Callum's cowardly ways, we hope you enjoy this episode and take something from it. Though we we think Paige and Finn will win, Whitney and I are rooting for Siannise and Luke T. Socials - @refinedeight, @sisandacj, @whitney.chance Thank you for tuning in!
Healing from abuse and trauma is difficult, painful and long. I speak as a survivor of child sex abuse myself. I want you to know there truly is light at the end of the tunnel! I'e healed so much so it almost feels like the abuse never happened! And I wanted to empower you, to equip you and share with you 3 steps to overcoming child abuse/trauma. 1. In the words of Will Smith, it may not be your fault that they hurt you and broke you but it most certainly id your responsibility to heal. Ultimately, it's a choice that you make. You decide that I want to detach from this pain, anger, bitterness etc. It is up to you! It sucks I know but c'est la vie. I was 16 years old when I finally decided enough is enough. The pain was too much. It was breaking me from inside out. That's what led me to finally choose healing. 2. Stay committed and patience. Your healing journey will be long! It took me 4 years to finally reach a place of wholeness and peace. 3. You need a strong support system. No one person is ever strong on their own. I know for us survivors it is difficult ti speak up we need to! It's the only way to heal. Keep speaking until you find the people that believe you and will stand and fight with you. From family, friends, church family, God Himself or therapy, you NEEED a strong support system. 4. Have this insane belief that you are destined for greatness! All the greatest people experienced some of the most awful and tragic things in life. How they dealt with it is what led to their greatness! Greatness does not come with you experiencing only good things in life. Believing there was more to me, more to life, that I was destined for greatness saved my life. Once every 3 months, my church (Melrose Christian Fellowship, Basingstoke) we have youth Sunday service in which the children and young people run everything from the singing (praise and worship) to the preaching and everything. Sisanda CJ had the privilege and honour of preaching in Feb 2020 on the theme "internal relationship with God." Since we are all in quarantine, thought it was the perfect time to drop this sermon. From looking at the story of Abraham and having to sacrifice his son Isaac to the book of Proverbs which makes us reflect where our heart is at in relation to Jesus and breaking down everybody's favourite verses in Luke which talk about judgement and taking the plank out of your own eye. May this sermon be heart-changing and life changing to you. May it draw you closer to God. Fyi: Other preachers that preach on this subject in more depth are Pastor Michale Todd of Transformation Church, Steven Furtick of Elevation Church, Bishop T.D Jakes and Dr Myles Munroe. You have to check out some of their semons! I'm sure you'll be blessed. Thank you for tuning into the refined eight podcast. socials: @Sisandacj // @refinedeight
The Dilemma: We met on a dating site and planned to hook up but then he cancelled cuz he found someone else. I stalked him for a year, and FINALLY got him. I got pregnant, but then I lost our child. Him: "God's never let me down b4. #SoBlessed." I love him; want his baby. Help. #SBCCHAT (https://twitter.com/SixBrownChicks/status/1227653927052681216) The twitter account @sixbrownchicks post people's dilemmas every Wednesday so I thought it'd be great to have a weekly episode on a chosen dilemma 'cause whew! Some people be going through it! Like this lady here who literally stalked, chased, begged and basically wants to force a man into choosing her and loving her. Like sis, he's not that into you but she won't take it. This is a classic example of what happens when you beg, stalk & force a man into loving you. The ghetto! Whitney and I also share our dating and love stories. From dealing with rejection, fighting for our relationships, being blinded by love, chasing a man no matter how many rd flags there were. All we can say is, we are growing and learning and also hope that you grow and learn with us too. "Never let a man tell you more than once that he doesn't want you" - Maya Angelou. Giannina does not know how to communicate, she's highly insensitive towards Damien's feelings and clearly does not know what love is. She no longer felt any butterflies which made her doubt her love for Damien. Well girl, love is so much more than butterflies. Love is a choice. Love is to be selfless and Giannina does not seem to have that range! I love Damien. He's a good man who knows his worth which is why he warned Giannina that he was gonna walk out if she continued this mess! As much as I like them together, I don't think Damien and Giannina are going to last. Jessica! she finally admits to having daddy/abandonment issues. We've been knewing but it's a shame that she's allowed herself to remain a victim of her past. Your past does not have to determine your future! HEAL! Life is what YOU make it. I feel for Jess and Giannina. That can't hold on to a good and healthy relationship because of daddy issues, abandonment isues, divorced parents and broken families. But Jess just takes it to another level - how can she hit on Barnett twice? My gosh! Mark needs to leave this girl! Lauren and Cameron - still my favourite! Amber is a walking red flags when it comes to finances. She's $20,000 in debt, no financial plan in place, very bad with money yet wants to be a stay at home mum. LOL. Barnett should run! Kelly and Kenny's families meeting was just the most wholesome thing ever! Thank you for tuning into The Refined Eight Podcast. Follow us on socials @refinedeight // @sisandacj
I am so over Jessica and Mark. Jessica was doing the most trying to move to Barnett, break up his relationship with Amber so they can be together but Barnett clocked! I am so happy he out her in her place. Jess clearly has issues she needs to work through. How can she say Mark is emotionally available and that's a red flag?! Like WHAT?! But Mark is allowing himself to be taken fi eediat! At this point, I'm struggling to sympathise but I do empathise. It is important to value ourselves, to have high self-esteem. You choose the love you believe you deserve. It's all fun and games screaming men are trash but you also need to evaluate how you date, why you choose the men you choose, more often than not, you'll find that you are also part of the problem. You need to heal from whatever has broken you and told you you are not deserving of love. Otherwise you'll be a Jessica - good and healthy love is right there, fighting for you yet you sabotage and run away form it because you do not know how to function in healthy and peaceful relationships. After omitting information about his fluid sexuality to Diamond, he feels attacked that Diamond has questions and feels betrayed. Diamond truly wanted to have a mature conversation with him but because of pride, ego, being used to rejection and pushing away something good. Jess and Mark - I cannot even cope! Barnett - I still can't even. Thank you for tuning into the refined eight podcast! Follow us on socials - @refinedeight // @sisandacj
