Episode 177 Perhaps most people paying close objective attention to fatal police interactions with black citizens would roll their eyes whenever Benjamin Crump gets involved, but today we will discuss two such incidents where the officers involved may actually be wrong and Crump's involvement, while not ideal, is understandable. In May and July of 2024 respectively, Roger Fortson and Sonya Massey were killed in their interactions with the police. What were the circumstances that led to their deaths? Were the killings justified? Episode 171 In this episode of the Removing Barriers podcast, we discuss a recent interview that Pope Francis gave to Nora O'Donnell. The Pope leads nearly 1.5 billion souls across the globe. That's 1.5 billion souls that are "baptized" Catholics, but that does not include the additional millions that give his words and actions weight in determining what the orthodox Christian position is on any given issue. Even so, his conversation in this interview is rife with very disturbing declarations about very important subjects such as the nature of man, the nature of salvation, LGBTQIA issues, women's role in the church, and more. Episode 169 Famous atheist Richard Dawkins set the internet ablaze for a moment when he lamented Britain's celebration of Ramadan over Easter, called himself a cultural christian, and warned that the loss of the Christian culture in Britain would be a dreadful thing. Where it has been found lacking, great strides have been made to lift the downtrodden. Can you have Christian culture without Christians? Episode 168 Series: How Were Your Barriers Removed - 39 In the latest episode of the Removing Barriers podcast, we are sharing a previously unreleased interview with H (yes, that is his real name!), a man whose life story is a testament to the power of faith and the transformative impact of accepting Christ. H's journey is not just about his personal salvation but also about the myriad barriers he faced and overcame along the way.H was born in rural North Louisiana, near the Ouachita River, in a time when the Great Depression had left its mark on every aspect of life. His early life was marked by his father, a strong and sturdy man, and his mother, a sweet and tender woman. They created a stable environment, albeit one without much religious influence. Despite the lack of regular church attendance in his family, H found his way to the local Baptist church, often hitching a ride from passing churchgoers. It was in this humble setting, with no electric lights and a preacher who only visited bi-monthly, that H first encountered the gospel. The message was simple yet profound: "Ye must be born again."For anyone facing their own barriers to faith, H's story offers hope and encouragement. It underscores the idea that while we cannot force others to accept Christ, we can live our lives in a way that reflects His love and grace and proclaim the truth of the gospel that they may know the mercy and grace available in Christ and Christ alone. Episode 166 Alistair Begg is a well-known and well-respected pastor and Bible teacher who inadvertently set the world of Christian netizens ablaze when he revealed that he encouraged a Christian grandmother to not only attend an LGBTQ wedding, but to also bring a gift. While he had some supporters in this matter, the majority were shocked and appalled by this stance so uncharacteristic of a man who had proven himself to be a faithful man of God for well over 40 years. Responding to the critics, Begg doubled down, rejected calls for repentance, and dismissed them as Pharisaical legalists incapable of nuance and lacking compassion. Episode 164 The United States is in the midst of great political and social turmoil, and it seemed that the tragic case of Dexter Reed would be a sort of George Floyd 2.0. In the immediate aftermath of the showdown with police, It was revealed that five plain-clothes officers fired 96 rounds at Dexter Reed: another helpless black man gunned down by white cops. "They shot him 96 times for no reason!" was the battle cry, and the usual race-baiting social justice 'leaders' quickly slithered in to represent the family, shoving the grieving mother in front of rolling cameras to speak about her son. They got the drama they wanted when she collapsed mid-sentence in her grief, and so began the cries against fundamentally racist America and the drum-banging for social justice, egging on emotional bystanders who had yet to fully comprehend what had even actually happened in the first place. Who was Dexter Reed? What happened the day he was stopped by police officers? Why did they shoot so many times?
