This podcast episode explores the relationship between the Metaverse and the retail landscape. Our experts discuss a range of topics, from the ongoing relevance and evolution of the Metaverse, to what retailers and consumers are doing in the Metaverse and what relevant legal issues they should keep in mind when it comes to their Metaverse strategy.
In our third epsiode, our experts explores some of the recent challenges across supply chain networks, what the triggers for those are and how best to manage relationships through a range of contract management tools. They discuss what might trigger the need to revisit or renegotiate existing contractual commitments and they go on to consider the importance of contract management when contracts become unviable due to factors such as Covid-19, the cost of raw materials and rocketing energy prices. In addition, our experts consider how best to approach conversations with suppliers to implement changes with positive impact as well as what contractual mechanisms are available to facilitate such discussions.
Our latest podcast episode explores how the Retail Industry can respond to the rising tide of customer abuse of retail workers. Our experts discuss the importance of a whole industry response and how that can be coordinated by industry bodies. We also consider how that can be supported by local collaborations and individual retailer responses.
The experts discuss what the FCA's new Consumer Duty is, and which retailers will be impacted by its introduction. As part of their discussion, they provide practical advice on what FCA authorised retailers need to be doing between now and the July 2023 deadline, including: The importance of creating an internal working group and obtaining senior buy-in; How retailers should start the process of reviewing their financial services activities to identify what changes need to be made prior to the July 2023 deadline; and The importance of having discussions with any lender or insurer the retailer works with as early as possible. Even though the implementation process might seem quite daunting and time consuming, the experts also go on to discuss how retailers can use the process of preparing for the Consumer Duty in a positive way that will benefit the business.
