Jerusalem, the joy of the whole earth, was destroyed because they rejected God. At the height of His grief for His people, God's thoughts were turned to the children. What goes into the heart and mind of a child will be in his heart and mind when he becomes an adult. We owe our children outrage at what they have inherited and the world in which they are living. We must stay committed to the truth, and we must continue to pray for our children. There is nothing we can do on earth. We need to hear from heaven.

The second chapter of Lamentations reveals the anger of God. The Lord had warned Israel that their disobedience would bring judgment. When they continued in sin, God's wrath was poured out on their land. As difficult as this subject is, we have hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. He suffered the sorrow of becoming sin for us so we could escape the anger of God.

God is our banner, the One who gives victory when His people trust and obey Him. The battle is not won by human strength but through faith, prayer, and obedience to His Word. He covers His people with love and leads them under His authority, reminding us that every victory belongs to Him alone.

His power to provide, protect, and sustain never fails for He is the God who heals His people completely.

Jehovah-Jireh is the God who provides perfectly and on time, revealing that His provision always meets the need and fulfills His purpose. He tests faith. not to destroy it but to deepen trust, showing that obedience and surrender open the way for His supply. The God who called Abraham to lay his son on the altar is the same God who provided the substitute, pointing to the greater sacrifice of Christ. In every test, He proves Himself faithful as the Lord who sees, the Lord who knows, and the Lord who provides.

As we survey the smoldering city of Jerusalem, we see what our nation could face if we do not turn back to God. Jerusalem lost her children, her young people, her friends, and her elders. Death was everywhere, and she was in distress. Seeing her sorrow should bring us to our spiritual senses. God is calling us to Himself.

El-Kanna is the God whose holy jealousy flows from perfect love and covenant faithfulness. He demands exclusive worship because He alone is worthy and because divided hearts lead only to ruin. His jealousy is not harsh but protective, guarding His people from the emptiness of idolatry and calling them back to Himself in mercy. The Jealous God is both a consuming fire and a faithful Redeemer who desires the full devotion of His people for their good and His glory.

El Roi is the God who sees every detail of our lives, from the pain of our past to the struggles of the present and the uncertainty of the future. He is never distant or unaware but is actively present with compassion and care. Hagar discovered in her darkest moment that that the God who rules heaven and earth also saw her personally, knew her by name, and had a plan for her life. The same God who met her in the wilderness is the God who sees and cares for His people today.

As the prophet Jeremiah recounts the judgment of Jerusalem, he asks, "Is it nothing to you all ye that pass by?" How does it affect your life to witness the fierce anger of God? Everything God is doing is to turn us back to Himself. No individual or nation can get by with sin. God allows trouble in our lives to show us we need to repent and turn to Him while there is still hope for revival.
