The term originated from an article published in 2008 – "Girls make passes at guys who wash glasses" it was built around the idea that if a man were to contribute more around the house by way of doing more domestic chores, traditionally performed by women, that a man might free up his wife (or attract a girlfriend) to feel more amorous because she was less burdened by housework. Later this theory would be proven entirely false, by the same author no less, in 2013. It is when men do traditionally masculine work that gets women's hormones flowing. Every 4-5 years the Choreplay narrative gets reheated in some variety, but the implied transaction is the same; do more work – Get more sex. Today Pat and I will put to bed this urban legend and explain why it's evolutionarily impossible for a woman to feel genuine desire for a man who does "women's work". Most of these guys were professionals, late 30’s to early 40s and all their stories were the same; “I feel like I’ve done everything anyone ever expected of me for the past 10-15 years and I get no appreciation for it.” These guys “did the right thing” and either their wive’s were unresponsive to them or they still viewed these men as a “fixer upper” project that they were constantly working on. This experience is what helped me to better understand the myth of the Mid-Life Crisis. Men, in most western culture’s do in fact experience a mid-life crisis, but this isn’t due to the trivialized and oft ridiculed by pop culture reasoning. Women, and feminization, would have us believe that men experiencing a mid-life crisis need to buy a sports car or divorce their wives in favor of a ‘trophy wife’ due to some repressed need to recapture their lost youth. This of course fits into the feminized myth that men are egoists, simple creatures and masculinity is infantile in nature, but this only serves to reassure women that they “still got it” at 40. The truth about men’s mid-life crises isn’t about recapturing youth, it’s about finally understanding the trappings they’ve been sold into through their 20’s and 30’s and coming to terms with that often horrible truth. Some men do in fact buy the sports car, get the new hottie wife or act in some fashion that appears reckless and irresponsible. Today Pat and I will explore the Myth of the Midlife Crisis for men. We'll delve into how men realizing their personal worth potential after they've made binding life decisions affects a man's psyche. Why is a crisis for men 'infantile' while a woman's going Eat, Pray Love something transformational? Is it more accurate to call it a 'Midlife Epiphany' (rather than a 'crisis') when a man comes to realize his role in a woman's sexual strategy after he's made commitments to her that directed the course of his life? He must also understand that the truth she betrays in her behavior is often not what he wants to accept. Women communicate covertly. Studies confirm that women have a much higher aptitude for communications than men. It's the way they're wired. Subcommunication, inference, indirection, body language, intonation, even a casual look, are all part of the tapestry of communication women innately prefer to use. For women the CONTEXT is what's important. How did the communication make her feel? Men communicate overtly. Men prioritizes CONTENT before giving thought to context. We tend to be blunt, straightforward and direct. Say what you mean, mean what you say. Information comes before any consideration of how that communication might make someone feel. In a gynocentric social order we teach our young men to communicate like women. The way women communicate is the 'correct' way and any time a man defaults to his natural way of communicating he's seen as boorish, stupid and insensitive. For a man, to blame his life’s ills on Mom smacks of latent misogyny, but lay the blame at Dad’s feet and the whole world wails along with you. A mother failing in her charge is negligent, but often excusable. A man failing as a father is always perceived as selfish and evil. Does every woman (but not every man) prefer her child to her mate? This is the Kundera Hypothesis (link below). In many ways male disposability is written into our evolutionary firmware. From a clinical perspective male disposability makes sense; eggs are expensive, sperm is cheap. But how does this evolutionary survival mechanism translate into a bigger social picture? The old honorific, "women and children first" is a social convention that finds its roots in male disposability, but also in elevating the survival imperative of women above that of men. Why is it an honorable imperative for men to go down with the ship (even when there are extra seats in the life rafts)? Male sacrifice is an expectation and entitlement in a gynocentric social order, but is the social convention just an outdated vestige of a survival adaptation we no longer need? Also, where does women's 'duty' lie in this respect? In a Darwinian sense it pay survival dividends if both parents are ready to 'take a bullet' for their child, but why is it that women prioritize their children's interests above their mate's? • Are notions of loyalty and allegiance irrelevant for women when it comes to their evolved imperatives? • Why will men allow or accept behavior or language from women that they would never tolerate from other men? • How do concepts like altruism, chivalry and honor serve the Feminine Imperative? Women's sexual market value is perishable, and depending on the woman, decays to the point of making her a less attractive prospect for long term commitment from a man. The Wall is a basic Red Pill principle, but most critics of like to distort what it means or the underlying implications. When I wrote Navigating the SMP, the reason I used 30 as the general age women typically hit the ‘Wall’ is really a combination of factors. Most importantly it represents the threshold at which most women realize their lessened capacity to sexually compete with the next generation of women in their ‘actualized’ sexual peak (22-24). The Wall isn't about a woman's physical appeal as it is her acknowledging that she is no longer able to compete in the sexual marketplace with younger women. Today we'll discuss the aspects of women's nature that make The Wall so compelling for them, as well as why men shouldn't see the Wall as some personal triumph or revenge. In addition to this, we'll also be discussing aspects of Plate Theory and how it fits into a man's long term sexual strategy.
