Colin interviews Matt Davis, a fellow Graduate Assistant in the CSW, and the two discuss Matt's "Life Color Theory." Matt dubbed this theory back in 2019 when he gave a TedX talk at BC on what a meaningful life is. Give a listen as Matt essentially gives his Ted Talk for the first 30 minutes of this episode, before Colin and Matt dive into a discussion and offer some reflections. Colin speaks with Rick Rossi, LICSW, a clinical pastoral counselor and campus minister at BC, and the two discuss the phrase "all healing occurs in the context of relationships." Rick describes the work he does in campus min such as the various grief support groups he oversees, and his clinical work as a pastoral counselor. Colin and Rick discuss the therapeutic relationship at length - the relationship that exists between the therapist/person in the helping role, and the client/person receiving services.
Colin and Katie kick off the second half of season 4 of Rooted, where we will be talking about relationships moving forward. Colin and Katie interview Corey Kelly, AVP and the Dean of Students. Listen as Corey describes the role that relationships play in her work and in Restorative Practices!

Colin stops and reflects on the first four episodes of this season, where digital wellness was discussed at length, and then looks ahead to and introduces our NEW topic for the remainder of the season - RELATIONSHIPS!
Colin and Emma speak with Kristin Hartnett, an advisor in the Communications department, professor of the course COMM1060: Anti-Social Media, and co-creator of BC's digital wellness campaign, Heads Up BC! Tune in and hear Kristin share her valuable insights around technology, social media, and how these things impact our relationships.
Colin interviews BC sophomore Peri Durbin - Wellness Coach, employee of the Hatchery, and member of the I Am That Feminist club at BC. Tune in as Peri shares about how she got plugged in on campus, the work she does, and digital wellness!
Colin, Brooke, and Emma welcome Jonah Kotzen and Meghan Heckelman, the President and Vice President of UGBC, respectively, onto the show to discuss digital wellness from the perspective of a student leader. Welcome to Season 4 of the Rooted podcast, hosted by Boston College's Center for Student Wellness! This season, we will be talking about digital wellness. Meet your new podcast hosts: Colin Droney, Brooke Douglass, Emma Bernier, and Matt Davis!
The Center for Student Wellness is back with Season 2 of Rooted! Tucker, Kayla, and Franny, the Center's three graduate assistants, sit down together to talk about the new season and its focus on Community! We name and define the four key messages that the Center for Student Wellness uses to talk about 'Community' with students, and discuss what this shift means to them, what communities are important for their wellbeing, and, finally, how they hope the four key messages influence their work in the Center this year. This season's music was written and produced by Nanayaw Appiah-Kubi AKA Nana AK, a Boston College alum! Nana has been making music since his time at BC, and makes up one-half of the music duo, ZeNith, with Zach Patterson, who is also an alum of BC. Together, they work as vocalists, producers, and mixing engineers, and can be found on all major platforms. Check them out HERE!
