In this panel presentation guest speaker Dr. Mohsen Attaran, Professor of Management at CSU Bakersfield discusses the applications of Blockchain Technology in Business such as: -Cryptocurrency(Bitcoin) -Supply chain logistics -Asset management -Decentralized networks This hour-long virtual event is part of a series organized by CSU Bakersfield's Business Research and Education Center, School of BPA. Professor Attaran's research agenda lies in the interface of operations, knowledge management, and information technology. He is the author/coauthor of four books, over 120 peer-reviewed research papers, and ten commercial software packages. Much of his current research is focused on studying technology and its societal impacts and identifying the implications for individuals and businesses. Moreover, he is interested in issues arising in the operations of internet-based markets. He is founder and president of IES, Inc. a Web and Mobile App Development Company. He also has founded, launched and managed several businesses in his career in a variety of technological fields including a Telehealth Doctor Visits, a subscription based virtual business, and a few non-profit organizations. California State University, Bakersfield President Dr. Lynnette Zelezny joined Hall Ambulance President & CEO Lavonne C. Hall outside of the Icardo Center for a ceremony to break ground on the Harvey L. Hall Family Plaza project. The open space will feature a two-tone brick walkway that will be highlighted by a bronze Roadrunner monument near the south side parking lot. Park benches, trees, and landscape will complete the renovation. Harvey L. Hall Plaza signage will be prominently displayed on the monument as well as on the exterior of the Icardo Room building. Construction is slated to begin in November and is expected to finish by spring of 2021. Sir Richard Branson is an English entrepreneur, investor, author and philanthropist. He founded the Virgin Group in the 1970s, which controls more than 400 companies in various fields.
