So much care and work must have been pored into this piece. Such an art. I am loving this story so much. I have been talking about it so much to anyone who will listen to me. Has sparked great personal conversations with my family and friends. Wonderful!

I would have lived to have met John! It’s so interesting how we don’t realize how special people are until there gone. Very sad 😔

I found this a worthwhile podcast. Worthwhile. A word used and defined in the story. A word to ponder. This podcast was thought provoking for me. Am I doing all I can do? I loved this podcast as I have no other I've listened to. It did, however, leave me with a lingering sadness. A sadness for John B and others in my life who were gone too soon.

I'm from a neighboring town near Shittown. I wish I could say it wasn't the same everywhere here, complete with the same tortured characters in their various forms. Welcome to Alafuckinbama.

OMG! I agree that this would make the BEST movie. I know real people like the citizens in this town. It's somewhat typical of a small southern town. Maybe one or two of the folks are a little extreme, but not much! Excellent job, and I really hope someone makes the movie (but not with Galifianakis as the star).

I dont understand, I guess, why YOU Brian.. didn't speak up to Rita about John and Tyler's relationship. and how much John loved Tyler and his brother. John would have wanted Rita and her husband and everyone else to know. Wouldnt as smart as John was... know if Tyler was a bad person. He wasnt, and no one defends their relationship. I just can't quit thinking about how heart broken Tyler must be through all this.. maybe that's why the police aren't helping Rita.. because they all know the truth. Brian, as someone who spent time with John and knew his love for Tyler... you should have defending their relationship a long time ago. I love this podcast, but I find that very disappointed

Ciara Pearlman But it's not his place to do that, he's just a reporter, reporting the facts. His life is based around being in the middle, even if he feels strongly one way or the other, it's not his place to do. I'm certain he offered his recorded evidence when the opportunity arose (though records of him vocally saying he wants to leave x to y doesn't hold up in court, it needs to be a written, notarized legal document), but what else can he really do? And he also knows better than to just accept what he sees as fact.
