"In this episode we discuss the different types of investment Jamaica needs to do in order to make Jamaica a better place."
Mental health in Jamaica is under advocated for, and there is a need for real change. Many persons in our society including teens are suffering on a daily basis without an avenue to seek assistance. Your mental health is just as important as the physical aspect of your well being and we all should seek to make it a priority.
We are depressed, we are jobless, underemployed and devalued by a society which has yet to consider youth development beyond one-day symposium. The truth is, like myself, many other millennials and Gen Z graduates have given up on their dreams and aspirations to become self-sufficient and contributing citizens of Jamaica.
JAMAICA taxes the rich at one of the lowest rates in the world while taxes on the poor are among the highest, according to a new Personal Taxes Study by UHY, an international accountancy network. It has led to calls to increase the tax threshold in order to reduce the tax burden on Jamaicans. It has led to calls to increase the tax threshold in order to reduce the tax burden on Jamaicans. "The Jamaican Government should take bold steps to increase the tax-free threshold to US$10,000.
Reducing crime is possible but will no be easy. Depending on the government and security forces will not work because for some it's not a priority. Jamaica will need a cultural revolution. The people will have to change some of the things they proudly use to identify themselves as Jamaicans. We will have to become disciplined. The mass will have to place more value on education and learning The culture of glorifying badness and dysfunctional behaviour will have to stop. People at all levels of society will have to be held accountable for their actions. Family life will have to fix it. The man will have to play his role in the family. People will have to be responsible when it comes to sex and relationships. Those who are not in a position to take care of themselves much less a family should not start one. Great emphasis on teaching the real history of Jamaicans. Not the part where you were slaves but the history before that. Problem-solving conflict resolution will have to be to teach. Self-governance will be needed where people are allowed to govern themselves and not politicians. Abolish political parties and rewrite the Islandβs constitution. One where the power is given to the people and they are not under a foreign state. Anybody pledged their loyalty to the brotherhood or any foreign entity should not be allowed to be in any leadership position on the island. Reorganize the police force. More focus on community policing. Every able-bodied man should do compulsory military training and serve for at least three years.
In this episode, we discussed our concern about how much kids are actually missing in Jamaica and the ways in which we can stop children from going missing.
JAMAICA MINIMUM WAGE IS 7,000 JMD A WEEK WHICH WORKS OUT TO 1.30 USD AND HOUR 1/6 OF US MINIMUM WAGE BUT THE COSTS IN JAMAICA ARE THE SAME COSTS AS THE US.ONE BEDROOM APARTMENT COSTING 200,000 USD WHAT KIND OF NONSENSE IS THAT?WE HAVE 3RD WORLD WAGES BUT 1ST WORLD COSTS.RAISE THE JAMAICAN MINIMUM WAGE TO 10,000 JMD A WEEK.
