Have you ever wondered how endurance athletes make sure they are performing their best? This week we are joined by the head coach of the men's and women's cross-country team and nordic ski team, Molly Peters. Molly, who graduated from Middlebury with a biology degree, talks about the science behind training for endurance sports, including knowing what workouts are best and how nutrition can impact an athlete. This week we met with Professor Larsen, chair of the Math and Statistics department and director of the Data Science program here on campus! Professor Larsen received a PhD in Statistics from Harvard. In addition, he received tenure at Iowa State University and promotion to full professor at George Washington University before coming to St. Mike's in 2017. This week we had the opportunity to talk with Professor Trevien Stanger, who received his undergraduate degree from Saint Mike's in '05 and returned to St. Mike's after completing his graduate education. Stanger in an Instructor in the Environmental Studies & Sciences Department as well as the Vermont State Director of the Society of Ecological Restoration. We discussed what classes the Environmental Studies department offers as well as how Saint Mike's makes conservation efforts so accessible for students.
