Geoff Keighley's 'The Game Awards' festivities didn't disappoint this year. Quite the contrary, it was arguably the single strongest showing of new game announcements the industry has seen in seemingly forever, and it was capped-off with what many of us have long awaited: Naughty Dog's new game. For the first time since 2005's Jak X: Combat Racing on PlayStation 2, Sony's crown jewel studio is readying a product that's aligned neither with Uncharted nor The Last of Us. It's called Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, it's about a spacefaring bounty hunter and a mysterious alien planet, and it's coming to PlayStation 5 at an undetermined point in the future. Naturally, we have much to discuss. Other TGA announcements of note include a surprise update for Helldivers 2, Capcom reveals in the form of new games in the Onimusha and Okami series, a brand new multiplayer Elden Ring spin-off called Nightreign, our first look at Borderlands 4 and The Witcher IV, the long-awaited revival of the Turok IP, the first new 2D Ninja Gaiden in more than three decades, and much more. And there's a regular ol' episode of Sacred Symbols underneath all of that, too, focused on the purported leak of Bend Studio's new game, the death of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, a serious lawsuit filed against Bungie by a fired executive, final word on long-defunct vaporware PS4 project Wild, and more. We wrap things up with listener inquiries on topics like rumors of an upcoming Steam console, parasocial relationships in the creator space, the ability of dialogue to ruin a perfectly good user experience, and a conundrum surrounding perpetual hiccups and $100 million.

I'm praying for Dustin. He seems like a great guy, and I hate that for his family.

Colin should do a sports podcast.
Is this a show about video games or a show about Colin, Chris and Dustin? Damn near 5 hour show, and an hour into the show, they are still talking nonsense unrelated to games. Was hoping the new Constellation podcast would satiate their desire to hear their own voices, sadly Sacred Symbols continues to be as long as ever. Used to listen to every SS show, but have since grown tired of listening to thoughts and opinions about things I have no interest in. Not sure why a timestamp to indicate the start of gaming discussion still hasn't been added.
the hypocrisy of Colin bitching about spoilers lol same dude who makes the idiotic argument "that's been out a long time" when spoiling things without warning whether it released 20 seconds ago or 20 years ago is irrelevant to the fact things can always be spoiled. the time it takes to give that stupid excuse could've been spent just saying spoiler warning, or apologizing for letting it slip in conversation I remember him spoiling ff7 right before rhe remake came out and he still made that stupid argument despite the fact the remake had tons and tons of brand new players interested in it foe the first time there will never be a time where everyone has seen everything, spoilers alerts are always worth giving. if you make a mistake, just apologize and move on, don't make a dumbass excuse that makes no logical sense. the purpose of spoiler alerts is simply to warn people. that's it. timing has nothing to do with it
God of War Ragnarök was the biggest surprise of the year for me.
Pre-urbanized civilizations around the world wore similar clothes and used similar patterns and hairstyles because they had near identical lifestyles. Modern Saami and Komi peoples wear similar clothing to Amerindians, as did ancient Germans, Celts, Slavs, Mongols, Tungusics etc because they were all forced to utilize what they could hunt to clothe and decorate themselves.
Colin always makes good points then he continues with the ridiculous argument that "Sony built up organically, with homegrown studios". I instantly tune out. It sounds like such fanboy bullshit that it's laughable. Sony built up by locking up 3rd party exclusivity with major franchises. They've been doing it from jump. They might not acquire companies but they gate off franchises through long term exclusivity. They might as well be acquiring. It's hard to imagine it today, because franchises like... Devil May Cry Metal Gear Solid Silent Hill Kingdom Hearts Yakuza Final Fantasy Tekken Resident Evil ...finally made their way to Xbox. But that wasn't always the case. Sony made locking away games that weren't theirs, the model.
I have been really disappointed in some of the takes content creators in the Final Fantasy space have been making regarding Yoshi P's interview. Glad y'all had a reasoned take because sections of the FF community are accusing Yoshida of being a white supremacy apologist and it's causing a great deal of unnecessary strife because no one was talking about the race of the characters in FF16 (outside of the regular suspects) until that article. Have lost a lot of respect for certain creators.
More games for back seating: GTA 5 main story, FF16 will probably hit the bill based on the team making it, Nier too.
Lol I like how he talking about Mole he said it has chocolate while it is true but most or depending where it from there usually no chocolate cuz there is green mole red mole or dark red which is more likely the chocolate but usually it’s a bit spicy
lmao fully agree with Colin regarding alcohol at weddings. well said
nah Chris's Laura impression knocked the air out of me 💀
i knew exactly where Chris was going when he said "you know where i know nosferatu from?" 😂
skip to 10 minutes, utter nonsense till then, then mostly ads wedged it.
hey hey hey... I really liked that "Powers" show. It was "The Boys" before it was a thing.
Jesus. How in the world did these guys keep me interested for FOUR AND A HALF Hours!? Definitely the best playstation-dedicated podcast out there. Another excellent episode. Thanks guys.
listen to Cooldown Time Podcast. its a video game pod i think needs more listeners amd is really good
Chris is verbose and uses "like" too much.
Think I can speak for the majority of your listeners - the longer the episodes the better!!
