back in early 2010, we were fortunate enough to meet these amazing souls Monique and Jack from Sailing Aloha.  Sorry the audio is so bad, hopefully you get something out of this. We want to eventually go to islands and pick up all the plastic, then study how long it takes to come back. Also, we want to take the plastic, and help the locals to make it into something sellable. Thus, we cleaned up the plastic form the shoreline and empowered the locals to do so by turning it into something useful. In this way, their economy benefits from a more beautiful place for tourists to visit and they sell products thereby increasing their own local economy.
