What Does it Mean to Offer a "Broken Heart and a Contrite Spirit" to God?

Send us a text In this short episode, Kenny shares some thoughts from our stake conference. Our visiting area Seventy, Elder James N. Robinson, shared some profound insights with us during the Sunday morning session. Many walked away from that meeting with a whole new understanding of what it means when the scriptures tell us that God requires "a broken heart..." as an offering from us to Him. I hope Elder Robinson's insight is as meaningful for you as it was for me! -Kenn...

“The Promises … Shall Be Fulfilled”, D&C 45

Send us a text From Come Follow Me: "The revelation in section 45 was received, according to the section heading, “to the joy of the Saints.” And there’s a lot to be joyful about in this revelation. In it the Savior gives His tender promise to plead for us before the Father (see verses 3–5). “My Law to Govern My Church”, D&C 41–44

Send us a text From Come Follow Me: "The Church grew rapidly in 1830 and 1831, particularly with a rush of new members in Kirtland, Ohio. This growth was exciting and encouraging to the Saints, but it also presented some challenges. How do you unify a quickly expanding group of believers? Specifically, what do you do when they bring doctrine and practices from their previous faiths? For example, when Joseph Smith arrived in Kirtland in early February 1831, he found new mem...

Send us a text From Come Follow Me: "To the early Saints, the Church was more than a place to hear some preaching on Sunday. The revelations used words like cause, kingdom, Zion, and, quite often, work. That may have been part of what attracted people to the restored Church. As much as they loved the doctrine, many also wanted something holy they could dedicate their lives to. Even so, obeying the Lord’s 1830 command to gather in Ohio was not easy. For many, it mea...

EASTER! “I Am He Who Liveth, I Am He Who Was Slain.”
