In this revealing episode, I break down a common pitfall I call "the CMO trap" - hiring expensive marketing experts who deliver beautiful strategies that never get implemented. After leaving Instagram, stopping personal branding, and focusing on building my agency, I've discovered the hidden costs of being your own marketing department. I'll reveal the shocking statistic that CEOs who DIY their marketing spend 15-20 hours weekly on tasks generating less than 20% of revenue You'll learn how this translates to 780 hours annually (or 19 full work weeks!) wasted on low-value marketing activities I'll break down the visible costs: expensive software subscriptions, constant learning curves, and low-quality execution You'll discover the invisible costs that are silently draining your business's potential I'll explain why your strategic work is worth 3x more than tactical marketing tasks You'll understand how being trapped in execution mode creates a dangerous strategy-execution disconnect Ready to reclaim those 19 weeks and focus on what actually drives growth? Download the Marketing Reset Toolkit and discover how to delegate your marketing effectively.

Let's cut through the marketing noise and tackle why your marketing might feel like a hamster wheel of exhaustion. Forget chasing shiny objects—it's time to audit what's actually broken in your current systems. The episode walks you through identifying exactly where your marketing is leaking money, from traffic that never converts to leads that ghost you before purchase. KEY TAKEAWAYS Stop working for your marketing; make it work for YOU Collect real data for at least six months (no, your gut feeling doesn't count) Your traffic-to-lead ratio should hit 10% minimum (anything less is a revenue leak) Lead magnets aren't the problem—your manipulative, irrelevant ones are People buy when it's convenient for THEM, not when you're ready to sell Customer loyalty isn't a fluffy concept—it's literally where your money is hiding JUICY QUOTES "Data without action is just expensive decoration for your dashboard." "Your lead capture engine isn't broken because you need more tactics—it's broken because the ones you have suck." "Most lead magnets are manipulative bait-and-switches that destroy trust before you even get started." "People don't buy when YOU want them to. They buy when it's damn convenient for THEM." "You don't have a conversion problem; you have a customer experience problem." Fatigue is robbing founders, especially founders of color from the opportunity to build long-standing, legacy businesses. And two large contributing factors to that fatigue is building a personal brand as a marketing strategy and lack of capital to build a team and scale a company. To ignore the impact that these two things are having on the mental health of founders is ignorant at best and negligent at worst. This episode is bringing to light a conversation that has been had many times in private and should be had in public so that the entrepreniral ecosystem can support founders properly. You want to grow your business, and have tried hiring social media managers and virtual assistants. But you aren't seeing the results you anticipated. You're disappointed by their performance, and they're doing things you never intended for them to do, or worst of all, they're not doing anything at all. What could possibly be going on? Well. I'm here to explain why and what to do about it.

"To surrender is to stop resisting an enemy or opponent and to submit to authority. To surrender is to let go, not to be out of control. To surrender is to let things happen for you and not to you." There's always a reason why things are happening. That's why you need to learn to surrender. The more anxious that you get, it is harder to hold and experience all of life's goodness. If you're constantly in a state of lack, if you're constantly in a state of chaos, you will never feel peace. If you're constantly in a state of burnout, and you keep on trying to calculate and plan and strategize all of the little moves in your life, then every single decision will always come with a very heavyweight. I encourage you to stop trying to direct your life and instead follow a series of perfectly fortunate events. I want to leave these three things that you can think about as you start to accept and go with the flow and surrender to the things that are happening for you and not to you. The first thing is for you to really find peace for yourself, to slow down, to quiet your mind, to understand what you really want and why you really want those things. And then to see how serendipitous life is and see how life starts to kind of leave you little breadcrumbs to get you to your final destination. The next thing I want you to consider is how you can live in the present moment. So live moment to moment and day today. Instead of constantly living in the future or living in the past. By trying to control the present, by avoiding the past and constantly thinking about the future, you don't actually get to participate in it. You don't actually get to enjoy it. You don't actually get to be present because you're constantly living in another reality. You're constantly living in another state of time. The only time that we have, the only time that we can live, is the present. And you rob yourself of the opportunity when you choose to live in the future or the past. The last thing to do in terms of surrender is to stop trying to constantly protect yourself and instead consider saying yes. When we are constantly in a state of chaos and when we're constantly in a state of protecting ourselves, we end up shutting things, people, and opportunities that are assigned to us. What if you said yes? What would happen if you said yes? What kind of life would you live? I hope that this episode resonates with you. That you are able to live in the present moment. That you're able to say yes more. That you're able to really understand what is happening for you and not to you and choose to live a life that feels good because you deserve it. Our guest and my good friend, Fallon Rice Scott left Corporate America and her job as a CPA for a Fortune 100 company and pivoted to direct sales and network marketing. After rising to the top of her company within 2 years, she then pivoted to creating her own agency. A CPA. A visionary. An advocate of freedom and sustainability. She embraced uncertainty and vulnerability to survive and be on top of her game. This episode will cover how she managed to pay down a $240k student loan in debt and got her dream wedding and honeymoon debt-free. We dive into the changes she had to make mentally and spiritually in order to navigate the shame that can be associated with debt, the MLM industry, and then transitioning to traditional entrepreneurship. "God knows where you need to be. God knows what you need before you need it. God burst so much purpose out of pain it pushed me to this super uncomfortable place that he was able to use. God can take all and will take all of your experiences to create something new for you to do for somebody else's and make an impact, a difference in people's lives." - Fallon Rice Scott. A mom. A businesswoman. A marketing guru. A realtor. How does one do it all, being all the things? A privilege to have Jammyra, the Supermom on this podcast episode. Truly inspiring how she has overcome anxiety, depression, unworthiness, insecurities, self-sabotaging doubts, limiting beliefs. By being aligned and not conforming to society's standards, she found her own balance within. "We all strive for balance because we feel like balance is peace. And I think the main point of life is to be able to find peace as well as balance. We want everything to kind of be in alignment, for everything to flow. Instead of me placing so much energy into finding balance in society standards and terms, I've created a place of peace just for what works for me and my child." - Supermom Jammyra *Shameless Plug: I would love for you to join me in my Promoted To CEO coaching program. Every single business is not going to be staffed the same. Not every marketing strategy is one size fits all. Oftentimes you get so worked up about who you need to hire, but you don't actually spend time thinking about what it is that you need to get done. Have you made space to come face to face with the gap that exists in your business? What do you need to outsource and delegate? What's your workflow? You believe that you need more bandwidth, more people, and more time to scale. You are operating from a place of chaos and what I want for you is to operate from a place of clarity. I hope this episode does that for you. *Shameless Plug: I would love for you to join me in my Promoted To CEO coaching program.
