In this second part of our second episode, your hosts Astrig and Aragah interviewed three Armenians from the diaspora who reflect on growing up Armenian outside of Armenia. Two of them, Sevana and Haikouhi are "repats" from France, the term used to describe people from the diaspora who moved to Armenia. Aram lives in the U.S. but goes back and forth.

In this first episode, meet Astrig and Aragah the two voices behind Sassountsi Sass. Aragah is a French-Armenian born and raised in Paris. He now studies in Milan, Italy. He speaks more Western Armenian, but he tries to show his skills in Eastern Armenian whenever he’s with his Eastern Armenian friends and relatives. Sometimes, his French accent is really strong, sometimes not; one thing is sure: he has a hard time not mixing any foreign language when he speaks Armenian, but he’s working on it (I think?). He also likes to dance alone in his room at night. Astrig is a French-Armenian journalist based in Paris. Her work has been published in various media: France TV, AFP, RTS, Hetq, L’Orient-Le Jour, the Guardian etc. She speaks Eastern Armenian, uses many Russian words without realizing it (that’s because of her mum) and has that Western Armenian twist with occasional Arabic, Turkish and Amharic words popping out (that’s on her dad). She’s trying to stay sane with all those dialects and languages dancing with each other in her brain. Doing fine for now. Will keep you updated. Oh, and she’s a jingalov hats connoisseur.

Այս առաջին դրվագում հանդիպեք Աստղիկին և Արագահին - Սասունցի Սասի երկու ձայներին: Արագահը Փարիզ ծնած-մեծցած ֆրանսահայ մըն է, որ այժմ Իտալիա` Միլան քաղաքը կ‘ուսանի: Ան աւելի արևմտահայերէն կը խօսի, բայց կը փորձէ քիչ մըն ալ արևելահայերէն նետել, երբ իր արևելահայ բարեկամներու ու ազգականներուն հետ կը գտնուի: Երբեմն ֆրանսական հնչիւնը զորաւոր է հայերէն խօսելուն ատեն, երբեմն ալ ոչ. մէկ բանէ վստահ կրնաք ըլլալ` դժուար է իրեն համար օտար լեզու չխառնել, բայց բաւական կը փորձէ ինքզինքը լաւացնել (կարծե՞մ): Կը սիրէ նաև գիշերները մինակը իր սենեակին մէջ պարել: Աստղիկը Փարիզում բնակվող ֆրանսահայ լրագրող է: Նրա աշխատանքը տպագրվել է տարբեր լրատվամիջոցներում` Ֆրանս Հեռուստատեսություն, ԱՖՊ, ՂՏՍ, Հետք, Արեւելքը Օրը, Գառդյանը և այլն: Նա խոսում է արևելահայերեն, օգտագործում է շատ ռուսերեն բառեր առանց իմանալու (դա իր մայրիկի պատճառով է) և ունի այդ արևմտահայերեն շրջադարձը` երբեմն արաբերեն, թուրքերեն և ամհարերեն բառերով (դա նրա հայրիկի պատճառով է): Նա փորձում է խենթ չդառնալ այդ բոլոր բարբառներով և լեզուներով, որոնք պարում էն նրա ուղեղում: Առայժմ նա լավ է: Մենք ձեզ տեղյակ կպահենք: O, և նա ամեն ինչ գիտի ժինգալով հացի մասին:
