Anyone in Scottsdale knows about our small but mighty airport. It actually was used as a WWII training site for flights. Has a history like no other. And it’s still just as important as it was during those training missions. But now the missions are to save lives. Angel Flight West provides individuals access to healthcare through donated flights. In 2023 our volunteer pilots flew 100 individuals in AZ to receive critical treatment. This life-changing service is provided at no cost to passengers, all due to the generosity of our volunteer, and supporters. We connect volunteer pilots with individuals who require medical or humanitarian flights, for free. It's a vital service that can save lives and bring hope to those facing medical challenges in remote areas. Plus, supporting Angel Flight West means supporting your community's health and well-being. Today I have Mary Hunter with me to talk about this year’s fundraiser with Jet Center Foundation and how we can help our community, one life at a time.    Calendar of Events Jet Center FoundationComing up in a couple weeks so get your tickets now. Entrepreneurship isn’t for the faint of heart. As a woman who owns two businesses, raising a family and still really enjoys life’s adventures, it takes a lot. But man do I love seeing my hard work come together and take off. Allan Draper came from a town of 2,000. Put himself through law school where he found great success but with success didn’t necessarily come fulfillment. That’s when Alan took the leap, moved his family to Detroit and started a pest control company with his brother. Not part of his success plan, the company failed. But like any good entrepreneur, he knew that it was time to try again. Learn from one’s mistakes and find the winning formula. And winning he is. Proof Pest Control is now valued at over $60 million. Like any successful business owner, Allan knows it takes a team and that’s why he’s giving back to our community to help other entrepreneurs find their inner success too.   Calendar of Events Hide and Peep @ Scottsdale QuarterMusic, crafts, face painting, and balloon twisting are free for everyone to enjoy throughout the event. Fiesta Bowl

2024-03-1133:35

While football season is now officially over, I know I’m super sad too, the power of the Fiesta Bowl is a year round here in the Valley. The first game was in 1971 with FSU vs ASU. It has grown in size bringing in an average attendance of around 70,000. Kristina Chumpol joined the Fiesta team in 2019 and quickly climbed the ranks to her current title of Chief of Staff and VP of Community Investment. Kristina is a local Scottsdale kid who grew up always understanding the importance of giving back. Which is why the Fiesta Bowl was an easy role to walk into. The crack of the bat, peanut shells on the ground and a nice cold drink under the clear blue skies. That only means one thing is town and that’s Spring Training. Watching some of these players try to make it to the next level while watching some of our favorite players up close. Of course here in Scottsdale our home team is none other than the SF Giants. Peter Volny was a kid in Australia who had a passion for cars. Skipping college to try his career as a race car driver may not have lasted long, but that passion and love for cars continued to grow. After a lackluster performance in the ad agency world where Peter brags about never winning a single award and never falling for any of his own gimmicks, Peter and his wife moved from frigid Canada to beautiful AZ in 2004. The perfect place for a car collector to live. He and his wife started attending the Cars & Coffee at THE SHOPS, traveling to other car shows around the country when the idea to start his own car collectors show came about, Concurs in the Hill. The 100% volunteered run charity car show started with just 200 cars in 2014 and to over 1,000 last year. As we start 2024 and think about our goals, resolutions and the future, one thing that may not be on your mind is planning for your kids future when it comes to your will, estate planning, finances and more. But what if you have a special needs child that needs extra help while you’re their guardian? Have you thought about what could happen when they become of legal age and you don’t have the same rights to help them as you do now. Nicole Kuck is one of those parents, here in Scottsdale. After working as a special education teacher, having her own special news child, she left her job to start Eminent Special Needs Planning, to help other parents like herself prepare for the future.
