Passage:
12 “And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you,
but to fear the LORD your God,
to walk in all his ways,
to love him,
to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,
13 and to keep the commandments and statutes of the LORD,
which I am commanding you today for your good?
14 Behold, to the LORD your God belong heaven and the heaven of heavens,
the earth with all that is in it.
15 Yet the LORD set his heart in love on your fathers and chose their offspring after them,
you above all peoples, as you are this day.”
(Deuteronomy 10:12–15 ESV)
Song:
Instrument of Peace by Isaac Wardell, Jessica Fox, Liz Vice, Orlando Palmer, and Paul Zach
Lyrics:
Lord make me
An instrument of peace
An instrument of peace
Where is there hatred let me sow love
Where there is darkness let me sow light
For in the giving we shall receive
And in the dying we’re given life
Lord make me
An instrument of peace
An instrument of peace
Where there is sorrow let me sow hope
Where there is doubt let me sow faith
Where is injury your pardon give
Your consolation to those in pain
Lord make me
An instrument of peace
An instrument of peace
Prayer:
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.
-A prayer attributed to St. Francis (ca. 1181–1226) of Assisi, Italy
Passage:
3 Know therefore today that he who goes over before you as a consuming fire is the LORD your God. He will destroy them and subdue them before you…
4 Do not say in your heart, after the LORD your God has thrust them out before you, “It is because of my righteousness that the LORD has brought me in to possess this land,”
6 Know, therefore, that the LORD your God is not giving you this good land to possess because of your righteousness, for you are a stubborn people.
(Deuteronomy 9:3–4, 6 ESV)
Song:
All My Boast is in Jesus by Bryan Fowler, Keith Getty, Matt Boswell, and Matt Papa
Lyrics:
What wonder of wonders what love is this
That Christ would die for me
His goodness His merit His righteousness
This sinner’s only plea
O foolish pride be crucified
The work is finished
All my boast is in Jesus
All my hope is His love
And I will glory forever
In what the cross has done
Now fully forgiven my life is filled
With graces undeserved
For mercy that flowed down that sacred hill
Let praises now return
Rise up my soul and bless the Lord
Who else is worthy
O praise the One forever blessed
Him alone my heart adores
And I will boast in nothing less
Than the love of Christ my Lord
I boast not in riches in strength or might
But in the grace of God
I glory in weakness to live is Christ
In plenty or in want
That I may know that all may see
His pow’r within me
Now I stand in His freedom
Ransomed clean in His sight
And I cannot be ashamed for
My boast is Jesus Christ
My boast is Jesus Christ
Forever my boast is Jesus Christ
Prayer:
Almighty God, eternal Father,
we have sat at your feet,
learned from your word,
and eaten from your table.
We give you thanks and praise
for accepting us into your family.
Send us out with your blessing,
to live and to witness for you in the power of your Spirit,
through Jesus Christ, the firstborn from the dead.
Amen.
-From the Eucharistic Rite of the Anglican Church in Kenya
Passage:
2 And you shall remember the whole way that the LORD your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not.
3 And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna… that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.
(Deuteronomy 8:2–3 ESV)
Song:
Honey in the Rock by Brooke Ligertwood and Brandon Lake
Lyrics:
There's honey in the rock
Water in the stone
Manna on the ground
No matter where I go
I don't need to worry
Now that I know
Everything I need You've got
There's honey in the rock
Praying for a miracle
Thirsty for the Living Well
Only You can satisfy
Sweetness at the mercy seat
Now I've tasted it's not hard to see
Only You can satisfy
There's honey in the rock (4X)
Freedom where the Spirit is
Bounty in the wilderness
You will always satisfy
There's honey in the rock
Water in the stone
Manna on the ground
No matter where I go
I don't need to worry
Now that I know
Everything I need You've got
There's honey in the rock
Purpose in Your plan
Power in the blood
Healing in Your hands
Started flowing when You said it is done
Everything You did's enough
I keep looking
I keep finding
You keep giving
Keep providing
I have all that I need
You are all that I need
I keep praying
You keep moving
I keep praising
You keep proving
I have all that I need
You are all that I need
I have all that I need
You are all that I need yeah
There's honey in the rock
Water in the stone
Manna on the ground
No matter where I go
I don't need to worry
Now that I know
Everything I need You've got
There's honey in the rock
Purpose in Your plan
Power in the blood
Healing in Your hands
Started flowing when You said it is done
Jesus who You are is enough
There's honey in the rock
There's honey in the rock
There's honey in the rock
Oh how sweet
How sweet it is to trust in You Jesus
Oh how sweet
How sweet it is to trust in You Jesus
Oh how sweet
How sweet it is to trust in You Jesus
Prayer:
Do not fear what may happen tomorrow; the same
everlasting Father who cares for you today will take
care of you then and every day. He will either shield you
from suffering, or will give you unfailing strength to
bear it.
Be at peace, then, and put aside all anxious thoughts
and imaginations. Amen.
-A prayer of St. Francis de Sales (1567–1622)
Passage:
6 “For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.
7 It was not because you were more in number than any other people that the LORD set his love on you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all peoples,
8 but it is because the LORD loves you and is keeping the oath that he swore to your fathers…”
(Deuteronomy 7:6–8 ESV)
Song:
Chosen by Alvymarie Rodriguez, Danielle Cruz, Jeffrey Todd McVicker, and Sean Hill
Lyrics:
How sweet it is to be loved by a King
How kind it is to be called by Majesty
How wonderful to fully know that I am Yours
How can it be I am favored in Your eyes
How can You see I'm a child of Your delight
How beautiful to always know that I am Yours
Oh I am Yours
Oh I am chosen I am Yours
Oh I am chosen I am Yours
You call me out to be Your hands and feet
For here and now a light for all to see
I'll show Your love and tell the world
That they are Yours
Oh they are Yours
Oh we are chosen we are Yours
Oh we are chosen we are Yours
Adorned in robes of royalty
The Bride of Christ can stand and sing
We're forever chosen
We're forever chosen
Hear the sound of people free
Sing the song of the redeemed
We're forever chosen
We're forever chosen
Hallelujah we are chosen we are Yours
Hallelujah we are chosen we are Yours
We're forever chosen
We're forever chosen
We're forever chosen
We're forever chosen
Prayer:
Preserve your work, Lord. Guard the gift you have given even to those who pulled back. For I knew I was not worthy to be called your servant, but by your grace I am what I am… Amen.
—Ambrose of Milan
Passage:
4 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.
5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.
7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
(Deuteronomy 6:4–9 ESV)
Song:
Every Mother Every Father by Andy Bast and Bruce Benedict
Lyrics:
Every mother every father
Called to raise up sons or daughters
May your heart be patient
May your mind be clear
May our God be with you and calm your fears
Prayer:
This is another day, O Lord. I know not what it will bring forth, but make me ready, Lord, for whatever it may be. If I am to stand up, help me to stand bravely. If I am to sit still, help me to sit quietly. If I am to lie low, help me to do it patiently. And if I am to do nothing, let me do it gallantly. Make these words more than words, and give me the Spirit of Jesus. Amen.
-The Book of Common Prayer
Passage:
8 Let me hear what God the Lord will speak,
for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints;
but let them not turn back to folly.
9 Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him,
that glory may dwell in our land.
10 Steadfast love and faithfulness meet;
righteousness and peace kiss each other.
11 Faithfulness springs up from the ground,
and righteousness looks down from the sky.
(Psalm 85:8–11 ESV)
Song:
Your Will Be Done by Jonny Robinson and Rich Thompson
Lyrics:
Your will be done my God and Father
As in heaven so on earth
My heart is drawn to self-exalting
Help me seek Your kingdom first
As Jesus walked so shall I walk
Held by Your same unchanging love
Be still my soul O lift your voice and pray
Father not my will but Yours be done
How in that garden he persisted
I may never fully know
The fearful weight of true obedience
It was held by him alone
What wondrous faith to bear that cross
To bear my sin what wondrous love
My hope was sure when there my Saviour prayed
Father not my will but Yours be done
When I am lost when I am broken
In the night of fear and doubt
Still I will trust in my good Father
Yes to one great King I bow
As Jesus rose so I shall rise
In ransomed glory at the throne
My heart restored with all Your saints I sing
Father not my will but Yours be done
As we go forth our God and Father
Lead us daily in the fight
That all the world might see Your glory
And Your Name be lifted high
And in this Name we overcome
For You shall see us safely home
Now as Your church we lift our voice and pray
Father not my will but Yours be done
And in this Name we overcome
For You shall see us safely home
Now as Your church we lift our voice and pray
Father not my will but Yours be done
Father not my will but Yours be done
Father not my will but Yours be done
Prayer:
You, Lord, have become my hope, my comfort, my strength, my all! In you does my soul rejoice. The darkness vanished from before my eyes, and I beheld you, the sun of righteousness. When I loved darkness, I knew you not, but wandered on from night to night. But you led me out of that blindness; you took me by the hand and called me to yourself, and now I can thank you, and your mighty voice which has penetrated to my inmost heart. Amen.
-Augustine
Passage:
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
the Lord bestows favor and honor.
No good thing does he withhold
from those who walk uprightly.
12 O Lord of hosts,
blessed is the one who trusts in you!
(Psalm 84:11–12 ESV)
Song:
I Will Dwell (Psalm 84) by Carrie Elizabeth Hardcastle, Dinah Kathryn Wright, and Laela Beth Dasher
Lyrics:
How lovely Your dwelling place
My soul longs and even faints
Just to meet You in the courts
Of the presence of the Lord
Oh how pleasing oh how sweet
At Your altar at Your feet
I will dwell in the house of the Lord
I will rest in the sound of His voice
Oh my heart my flesh will sing for joy
As I dwell in the house of the Lord
If the sparrow finds a home
And the swallow brings her young
Then I will find my rest in You
And I'll bring all my treasures too
Holy refuge hiding place
Lead me on from strength to strength
No good thing will You withhold from
Those who love you Lord we love you
Just one day within Your presence
So much better Lord You're better
Oh my heart my flesh will sing for joy
As I dwell in the house of the Lord
I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Prayer:
Father, what we know not, teach us; what we have not, give us; what we are not, make us; for the sake of your Son our Savior. Amen.
-Old Anglican Prayer
Passage:
8 “Hear, O my people, while I admonish you!
O Israel, if you would but listen to me!
9 There shall be no strange god among you;
you shall not bow down to a foreign god.
10 I am the Lord your God,
who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.
Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.
11 But my people did not listen to my voice;
Israel would not submit to me.
12 So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts,
to follow their own counsels.
13 Oh, that my people would listen to me,
that Israel would walk in my ways!”
(Psalm 81:8–13 ESV)
Song:
Yes, Jesus, I Receive by Avery Collins
Lyrics:
Yes Jesus I receive
Yes Jesus I receive
Yes Jesus I receive
The waiting 'cause Your timing's perfect
Yes Jesus I receive
Remaining still when I want to act
Yes Jesus I receive
Desiring Your will and not my own
Yes Jesus I receive
Saying yes to joy through it all
Yes Jesus I receive
Going out into the dark night
Yes Jesus I receive
The crosses You have for me
Yes Jesus I receive
The pain and the suffering
Yes Jesus I receive
Embracing death 'cause I was made for eternity
Yes Jesus I receive
All that You will for me
Yes Jesus I receive
Yes Jesus I receive
Yes Jesus I receive
Prayer:
Most loving Father, whose will it is for us to give thanks for all things, to fear nothing but the loss of you, and to cast all our care on you who care for us: Preserve us from faithless fears and worldly anxieties, that no clouds of this mortal life may hide from us the light of that love which is immortal, and which you have manifested to us in your Son Jesus Christ our Lord; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
-Book of Common Prayer
Passage:
5 And Moses commanded the people of Israel according to the word of the Lord, saying, “The tribe of the people of Joseph is right.
6 This is what the Lord commands concerning the daughters of Zelophehad: ‘Let them marry whom they think best, only they shall marry within the clan of the tribe of their father.
7 The inheritance of the people of Israel shall not be transferred from one tribe to another, for every one of the people of Israel shall hold on to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.
10 The daughters of Zelophehad did as the Lord commanded Moses,
11 for Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married to sons of their father’s brothers.

Let us go forth heal and restore
Let us be known by our peace
Prayer:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name; your kingdom come; your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Passage:
6 “The cities that you give to the Levites shall be the six cities of refuge, where you shall permit the manslayer to flee, and in addition to them you shall give forty-two cities.
7 All the cities that you give to the Levites shall be forty-eight, with their pasturelands.
25 And the congregation shall rescue the manslayer from the hand of the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to his city of refuge to which he had fled, and he shall live in it until the death of the high priest who was anointed with the holy oil.
28 But if the manslayer shall at any time go beyond the boundaries of his city of refuge to which he fled,
29 and the avenger of blood finds him outside the boundaries of his city of refuge, and the avenger of blood kills the manslayer, he shall not be guilty of blood.
(Numbers 35:6–7, 25, 28–29 ESV)
Song:
Amen by Anna Hamilton and Grace Ibbott
Lyrics:
We’ve built kingdoms in our own names
We’ve been distant walked our own way
Seeking idols and not Your face
But Father You’re too precious to us to trade away
So we come again
Kneel at Your feet again
And we say amen
Let Your will be done in us
We’ve seen injustice and let it be
Drawn our own lines on Your masterpiece
So with repentance in humility
Father form in us the church You long to see
With no questions no reservations
Here we are King of love
You have our hearts
Let justice roll like a mighty river
On and on as we pray
Your kingdom come
Passage:
1 I cry aloud to God, aloud to God, and he will hear me.
2 In the day of my trouble I seek the Lord;
in the night my hand is stretched out without wearying;
my soul refuses to be comforted.
3 When I remember God, I moan;
when I meditate, my spirit faints.
11 I will remember the deeds of the Lord;
yes, I will remember your wonders of old.
12 I will ponder all your work,
and meditate on your mighty deeds.
13 Your way, O God, is holy.
What god is great like our God?
(Psalm 77:1–3, 11–13 ESV)
Song:
I Cry Aloud (Psalm 77) by Daniel Snoke

I cry aloud to God
And he will hear my call
When troubles surround
I seek the Lord
My soul will not rest
I seek God and moan
And when I meditate
My spirit faints
Passage:
1 We give thanks to you, O God; we give thanks, for your name is near.
We recount your wondrous deeds.
2 “At the set time that I appoint
I will judge with equity.
3 When the earth totters, and all its inhabitants,
it is I who keep steady its pillars.
4 I say to the boastful, ‘Do not boast,’
and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horn;
5 do not lift up your horn on high,
or speak with haughty neck.’”
(Psalm 75:1–5 ESV)
Song:
Psalm 75 by Poor Bishop Hooper
Lyrics:
We give thanks, God
We give thanks for Your name is near
We give thanks, God
We give thanks for Your name is near
As men tell of
All Your wonderful works
As men tell of
All Your wonderful, wonderful works
At the set time that I appoint
I will come and judge with equity
When the Earth totters and the people shake
It is I who keep its pillars steady
Oh, it is I who keep its pillars steady
Not from the east or from the west
Not from the wilderness comes lifting up
But it is God who is tho only judgе
Putting down one and lifting up another
Not from the еast or from the west
Not from the wilderness comes lifting up
But it is God who is tho only judge
Putting down one and lifting up another
For in His hand there is a cup
And full of wine and spices foaming up
And it is well-mixed and when He pours this
Surely the wicked will drink
But as for me
I will declare it
I will sing praise
Praise to the God of Jacob
As for me
I will declare it
I will sing praise
Praise to the God of Jacob
As for me
I will declare it
I will sing praise
Praise to the God of Jacob
As for me
I will declare it
I will sing praise
Praise to the God of Jacob
Prayer:
With what shall we come before you, O Lord? Or bow ourselves in your presence, O you Most High God? Cause us to come unto you in faith: mentioning no other name, pleading no other righteousness, and trusting in no other atonement than the name, righteousness, and atonement of your blessed Son and our… Mediator Jesus Christ. In him, we desire to be found; through him, we hope for favor with you, and acceptance in your sight. Blessed be your goodness for the mercies of the day, for the blessings of your providence, the comforts of your Spirit, and the privileges we enjoy. Amen.
-Augustus Toplady
Passage:
1 Moses spoke to the heads of the tribes of the people of Israel, saying, “This is what the Lord has commanded.

(Numbers 30:1-2 ESV)
Song:
Promises by Jonny Robinson, Matt Boswell, Matt Papa, and Rich Thompson
Lyrics:
I can always call you father
You chose me as your child
And your word is always faithful
You will not turn aside
Now I live in full assurance
For my savior paid that price
Every promise that you made me
Is yes in Jesus Christ
You are faithful to your promises
We will trust in what the cross has said
Through the ages hallelujah you are
Faithful to your promises
Are you with us in the fire
Will you keep us in the storm
Are you still the light that guides us
When the darkness overwhelms
Through the doubts and through the valleys
Through the passing years we find
Every promise you have spoken
Is yes in Jesus Christ
You will be our God
We will be your people
You will be with us
Keep us from all evil
Every promise made
Is a promise kept
You are faithful to your promises
You began this work within us
You will bring it to the end
You're the one who goes before us
You will have the last Amen
So we set our hope upon this
An on this we build our lives
All your promises forever
Are yes in Jesus Christ
Prayer:
You, Lord, have become my hope, my comfort, my strength, my all! In you does my soul rejoice. The darkness vanished from before my eyes, and I beheld you, the sun of righteousness. When I loved darkness, I knew you not, but wandered on from night to night. Passage:
25 Whom have I in heaven but you?
And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you.
26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
(Psalm 73:25-26 ESV)
Song:
As for Me (Psalm 73) by Adam Daniel Westlake, Bryan Christopher Fowler, Caleb Savari, Lucy Shea Allen, Reese Germany, Robbie Seay, Shane Barnard, and Victoria Christine
Lyrics:
Why do the wicked men prosper
Why do I envy the proud
They scoff and they rage and defile Your name
Still riches and favor abound
Lord would You keep me from stumbling
Guard me from all of my doubt
My heart and my flesh though they fail me again
You are the strength that I've found
As for me Your presence is my good
As for me Your presence is my good
You are my treasure my portion forever
As for me Your presence is my good
Faithful You are to remind me
Faithful to show me the truth
Finally I see You are all that I need
And all that I need is in You
Whom have I in heaven
Who else would I run to
There is no one I desire
Only You only You only You
Only You only You only You
As for me Your presence is my good
Prayer:
Almighty God, heavenly Father, because we are so weak in ourselves that we cannot stand even for a moment, and moreover, our sworn enemies—the devil, the world, and our own flesh—do not cease to attack us; will you, therefore, keep and strengthen us by the power of your Holy Spirit, so that we may firmly resist them and not go down to defeat in this spiritual war, but remain persistent until we finally obtain the complete victory and reign together with your Son, our Lord and Protector Jesus Christ, in your kingdom forevermore. Amen.
-Zacharias Ursinus
Passage:
17 May his name endure forever,
his fame continue as long as the sun!
May people be blessed in him,

(Psalm 72:17 ESV)
Song:
Psalm 72 (Long Live The King) by Kip Fox and Paul Elliot
Lyrics:
There is a King who rides on the heavens
His coming lifts the eyes of the poor
For all the power of their oppressor
Can hurt them no more
He is a King like no one before Him
His justice falls like rain on the hills
And all who live their lives with that hunger
Will have their fill
Long live the King
Forever He shall reign
Let the heavens ring with His praise
Long live the King
The sun and moon will fade
His kingdom never passing away
Long live the King
Interlude
Long live the King
There is a righteous fire in his footsteps
An everlasting peace in His wake
He is the King from ocean to ocean
And age to age
Age to age
Humbled low in a manger
Lifted high on a tree
Rose victorious Savior
Jesus Christ our King
Long live the King
Forever He shall reign
Let the heavens ring with His praise
Long live the King
The sun and moon will fade
His kingdom never passing away
Long live the King
Forever He shall reign
Let the heavens ring with His praise
Long live the King
The sun and moon will fade
His kingdom never passing away
Long live the King
Long live the King
Long live the King
Prayer:

Passage:
1 While Israel lived in Shittim, the people began to whore with the daughters of Moab. 2 These invited the people to the sacrifices of their gods, and the people ate and bowed down to their gods. 3 So Israel yoked himself to Baal of Peor. And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel.
(Numbers 25:1–3 ESV)
Song:
Keep My Eyes on Jesus by Kris Alon
Lyrics:
Jesus, I look to You
You’re where my help comes from
Jesus, You know just what I need
And when my soul is weak
Help my eyes to see
Jesus, you’re everything I need
So I’ll keep my eyes on Jesus
You’re the way, the truth, and life
When my spirit grows weak, yours washes over me
You are my victory
You are my everything
Prayer:
I ask you, my most gracious God, preserve me from the cares of this life, lest I should be too much entangled in them; and from the many necessities of the body, lest I should be ensnared by pleasure; and from whatsoever is an obstacle to the soul, lest, broken with troubles, I should be overthrown. Amen.
-Thomas à Kempis
Passage:
10 For you, O God, have tested us; you have tried us as silver is tried. 11 You brought us into the net; you laid a crushing burden on our backs; 12 you let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance.
(Psalm 66:10–12 ESV)
Song:
We Praise You by Brandon Lake, Brian Johnson, Matt Redman, Phil Wickham
Lyrics:
Let praise be a weapon that silences the enemy
Let praise be a weapon that conquers all anxiety
Let it rise let praise arise
We sing Your name in the dark
And it changes ev'rything
We sing with all we are and we claim Your victory
Let it rise let praise arise
We’ll see you break down ev'ry wall
We’ll watch the giants fall
For fear cannot survive when we praise You
The God of breakthrough's on our side
Forever lift (Him) (You) high
With all creation cry God we praise You
Oh we praise You oh
Let faith be the song
That overcomes the raging sea
Let faith be the song
That calms the storm inside of me
Let it rise let faith arise
Oh we praise You oh we praise You
Oh we praise You oh we praise You
This is what living looks like
This is what freedom feels like
This is what Heaven sounds like
We praise You
We praise You
Oh we praise You oh we praise You
Oh we praise You oh yeah with all Your praise
Prayer:
Let your mighty hand and outstretched arm, O Lord, still be our defense; your mercy and loving kindness in Jesus Christ your dear Son, our salvation; your true and holy Word, our instruction; your grace and Holy Spirit, our comfort and consolation unto the end, and in the end. Amen.
-John Bradford
Passage:
19 God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? 20 Behold, I received a command to bless: he has blessed, and I cannot revoke it. 21 He has not beheld misfortune in Jacob, nor has he seen trouble in Israel. The Lord their God is with them, and the shout of a king is among them. 22 God brings them out of Egypt and is for them like the horns of the wild ox.
(Numbers 23:19–22 ESV)
Song:
Egypt by Brian Johnson, Cory Asbury, Ethan Hulse, Lee Cummings, Phil Wickham, covered by John Ward
Lyrics:
I won’t forget
The wonder of how You brought
Deliverance
The exodus of my heart
Pre-Chorus
You found me
You freed me
Held back the waters for my release
Oh Yahweh
('Cause) You’re the God who fights for me
Lord of every victory
Hallelujah hallelujah
You have torn apart the sea
You have led me through the deep
Hallelujah hallelujah (oh) (whoa)
A cloud by day
Is a sign that You are with me
The fire by night
Is the guiding light to my feet
'Cause You stepped into my Egypt
And You took me by the hand
And You marched me out in freedom
(Straight) Into the promised land
(And) Now I will not forget You God
I’ll sing of all You’ve done
Death is swallowed up forever
By the fury of Your love
Prayer:
Spirit of Christ… Make me strong, not with the strength of recklessness, but with that strength which comes from an increased burden of care. Inspire me with your sacrificial love, and I shall be a stranger to selfish fear; I shall have the courage to dare all things when I am made a captain in your band. Amen.
-George Matheson
Passage:
22 But God’s anger was kindled because he went, and the angel of the Lord took his stand in the way as his adversary. Now he was riding on the donkey, and his two servants were with him. 23 And the donkey saw the angel of the Lord standing in the road, with a drawn sword in his hand. And the donkey turned aside out of the road and went into the field. And Balaam struck the donkey, to turn her into the road. 24 Then the angel of the Lord stood in a narrow path between the vineyards, with a wall on either side. 25 And when the donkey saw the angel of the Lord, she pushed against the wall and pressed Balaam’s foot against the wall. So he struck her again. 26 Then the angel of the Lord went ahead and stood in a narrow place, where there was no way to turn either to the right or to the left. 27 When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord, she lay down under Balaam. And Balaam’s anger was kindled, and he struck the donkey with his staff. 28 Then the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, “What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?”

Song:
His Glory and My Good by Ben Fielding, Jonny Robinson, Rich Thompson
Lyrics:
I have seen my Father’s glory
Revealed in Jesus Christ
And the more that I behold Him
The more He satisfies
When I gaze upon His beauty
When I see Him as I should
Then my eyes are lifted upward
For His glory and my good
There is hope in every trial
For I can trust the Lord
He will turn my heart towards Him
And help me bear the thorn
So in faith I follow Jesus
On the road not understood
For I know that He is working
For His glory and my good
To our God be the glory
To our God be praise
He alone the name above all names
I will boast ever only in the Lord my God
For I know His glory is my good
See the open arms of Jesus
Upon the cross that day
What they understood as weakness
Deserves my every praise
For the charge that was against me
It was nailed into the wood
Yes I know that He has saved me
For His glory and my good
Would I gladly be made nothing
That Christ would be made more
Would I seek the only kingdom
That far outweighs them all
I will stand before my Father
Where the faithful saints have stood
And with joy my heart shall praise Him
For His glory and my good
To our God be the glory
To our God be praise
He alone the name above all names
I will boast ever only in the Lord my God
For I know His glory is my good
For I know His glory is my good
Prayer:
Preserve your work, Lord. Guard the gift you have given even to those who pulled back. For I knew I was not worthy to be called your servant, but by your grace I am what I am. And grant that I may know how with genuine affection to mourn with those who sin. Grant that as often as I learn of the sin of anyone who has fallen, I may suffer with them, and not scold them in my pride, but mourn and weep with them, so that in weeping over another I may also mourn for myself. Amen.
