The Seahawks suffered an infuriating loss to the Packers on Sunday, but it did bring some clarity on changes that need to be made in the offseaon (if not sooner). We take a look at what went wrong with the team in their slow start and what kept them from coming back despite having the opportunity, in part thanks to the defense for bouncing back in the second half. However, the offense remained a disaster throughout, exacerbated by Geno Smith's injury and the decision to put Sam Howell into chucker mode . Looking ahead, we take a look at the upcoming game against the Minnesota Vikings. Considering the Vikings level of talent, both players and coaching, this may be the most complete team the Seahawks have faced all year. But can our Seahawks be a "trap game" for Minnesota, given their challenging schedule ahead? That's one of a small number of factors that could give us some hope toward victory for the final home game of the regular season. In the second half of the show, we take a look at one of the plays that may have helped seal the offseason fate of Ryan Grubb. Plus we take a look at the playoff picture, the potential for the Seahawks to still make a run, and the importance fans play for home field advantage. Do better call outs go to the Charlotte Hornets and two teams the faced the Los Angeles Rams recently. Plus Adam has a rare self-nomination for the Better at Life spot that he shares with the Seahawks latest nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. Looking for more Seahawks shows? The Seahawks suffered a tough loss to the Packers, falling 30-13 in a game that highlighted some of the strengths and weaknesses of the team. After quickly falling behind 14-0 in the first quarter, the game felt like a slow inevitability, despite moments of hope. The two touchdown lead came as a bit of a surprise, as Green Bay had only scored that quickly twice this season, especially considering how well the defense had been playing in recent weeks. Where does this leave Seattle's chances for the playoffs? Part of that answer will depend on the status of Geno Smith and how quickly he'll be ready after getting injured in the 3rd quarter. The Seahawks are sitting pretty at the top of the NFC West after a solid win over the Arizona Cardinals, and we are here to recap a milestone victory. Celebrating the Seahawks' 400th franchise win, we discuss the breakout game from Zach Charbonnet, who racked up nearly 200 yards on the ground and through the air. The defense continues to impress, with Ernest Jones making key plays to stifle James Conner and the Cardinals' offense. Looking ahead to Sunday night, we discuss the upcoming match against the Green Bay Packers, a team that poses a real test for Seattle's improving squad. Despite last week's performance against the Lions, the Packers have a solid defense and their balanced offensive attack will be another measuring stick on the improvement of the Seahawks defense. In the second half of the show, the conversation shifts to the broader NFC West landscape, with a focus on the Rams and 49ers. What's more likely for this Seahawks team? To finish 3-1 down the stretch or 1-3? A special birthday shoutout goes out a 12th golden birthday. ESPN and announcers overreaction to Sam Darnold's season need to do better. The Seahawks delivered a 30-18 win over the Cardinals on Sunday, fueled by a strong start with the help of back-to-back interceptions by Ernest Jones and Coby Bryant on defense. The offense capitalized off the turnovers to help set the tone for one of the team’s most complete performances of the year. Zach Charbonnet shined with 134 rushing yards, 59 receiving yards, and a touchdown, while Geno Smith’s efficient day under center included a touchdown to Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Are things starting to come together for offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb? Seattle are atop the NFC West, but the Rams are now the chief rival for the Seahawks after their win over the Buffalo Bills. The Seattle Seahawks pulled off the comeback win against the New York Jets, but it wasn't pretty. The Seahawks got behind early in the first half against a struggling Jets team and despite the shaky start that was nearly disastrous, they were able to rally. Defensive Player of the Week Leonard Williams had several standout plays. He blocked an extra point, delivered a pick-six, and was a consistent threat in the trenches. Are the Seahawks starting to find their way on offense? There were some moments that offered glimmers of hope, particularly as the team shifted to playing more from under center. We also look ahead to the upcoming game against the Arizona Cardinals, and the importance of stopping James Conner and maintaining defensive discipline against Kyler Murray. In the second half of the show, we discuss the controversy surrounding a recent suspension for a late hit on Trevor Lawrence. We offer a new benefit to our biggest supporters and look at an incredible week of perfect picks. In our Do Better segment, we go after some new football jargon and talk about a new rule proposal in professional baseball. Better at life honors go out to Coach Macdonald for a family milestone and former Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren cleared a major hurdle that should have him heading into the Hall of Fame. In a game filled with bizarre moments (particularly on special teams) Leonard Williams emerged as the standout player of the game once again. Williams delivered a blocked extra point, a pick-six, and critical sacks to help secure a Seahawks victory. Mookie Alexander of Field Gulls joins the show to talk about the biggest comeback win of the Geno Smith era. However, Geno and the offense will need to clean up their act moving forward, particularly with their goal-to-go offense, where questionable play-calling and execution nearly kept the Seahawks from getting the comeback win. The Seahawks jumped back up to the top of the NFC West this past Sunday with a 16-6 win over the Arizona Cardinals. We dive into the game and talk about the defense's outstanding performance that held James Conner to under 10 rushing yards and contained Kyler Murray. Leonard Williams made a significant impact, and the pass rush as a whole is pressuring at a rate that is difficult to believe. It wasn't the prettiest win though. With only 10 offensive points, we examines the Seahawks offensive struggles and we get into some of the theories around why it may take some time for it to pull together by the end of the season. Looking ahead, the Seahawks are set to face the New York Jets, a team filled with talent yet riddled in turmoil. With the Seahawks' defense on the upswing, can they maintain their winning momentum? In the second half of the show, we discuss the current NFC West standings, where the Seahawks lead the division, and how the playoff race is shaping up. The downfall of the 49ers continues and it doesn’t get much easier with a road trip to Buffalo coming up this weekend. Is it the end for Kyle? Should it be? One coach that won't ever get another NFL job lands in the Do Better segment this week. We also take aim at the NFL, because they're fining players for things that it is also promoting. The Seahawks defense shines bright as they defeat the Arizona Cardinals 16-6 in a hard-fought divisional matchup. Coming off a tough loss to the Rams, Seattle's defense stepped up in a big way, holding the Cardinals to just six points. The defensive line was relentless, pressuring Kyler Murray and shutting down the run game, limiting James Conner to a mere 8 yards on 7 carries. Geno Smith and the offense had their struggles, but a key screen pass to Jaxon Smith-Njigba set up the go-ahead score. Despite some offensive hiccups, the Seahawks' defense carried the day, with standout performances from Leonard Williams and a pick-six by Kobe Bryant sealing the win. Looking for more Seahawks shows? From snowy Thursday Night Football, where the Browns edged out the Steelers, to divisional dynamics and lopsided matchups like the Chiefs at Panthers, we go through all the Week 12 matchups. Confidence is high in backing Kansas City, while risk picks help to split Bears vs. Vikings and Patriots vs. Dolphins. We also highlight the Seahawks role in complicating the 49ers season ahead of their game against the Packers. Finally, the Ravens vs. Chargers looks like the game of the week and could decide who wins the week overall. Looking for more Seahawks shows? Our Seahawks did it! After Russell Wilson left following the 2021 season, the Seahawks have not been able to defeat the San Francisco 49ers. With Geno Smith's late game heroics, it led us to the reaction that we were looking for from Frisco fans. Doom! Talks about Kyle Shanahan deserving to get fired, star players getting too old, and playoff windows being closed -- we heard it all coming from our rivals to the south. The Seahawks defense was a huge part of the win. Several players had some of their best games of the season and it helped limit the explosive plays by the Niners that helped them win the first matchup in Seattle. Jaxon Smith-Njigba continued to stack offensive performances and was Geno's go-to guy on a couple key third downs. But the play of the game came from Smith on his game-winning touchdown run. Can the Seahawks keep it going at home against a Cardinals team that is riding a four-game win streak? Questions remain about whether or not Kyler Murray can continue to play at a high level as he tends to fade toward the end of every season. Or are we seeing the same issues now play out in Washington with Jayden Daniels and Murray's former head coach? Arizona Cardinals corners have been one of their biggest weaknesses on defense. So we can expect Ryan Grubb to test them early and often. In the second half of the show, we talk about one of the first public interviews from Earl Thomas in a while. It's a great week for him as we found out this week that he made it as a semifinalist on his first opportunity to make the Hall of Fame. However, one key Seahawks player from the Legion of Boom era didn't make the cut this year. We call out a former Seahawks reporter as well as a pair of Bay Area radio hosts in Do Better. Better at life nominees go out to a Niners beat reporter who is getting under Shanahan's skin and to the Seahawks defensive coordinator for getting some strong performances out of the defensive line. With two unprecedented moves in the bye week, as the Seahawks started center retired and their leading tackler was waived, this felt like a pivotal moment in Coach Mike Macdonald's young coaching career. The offense shows some improvement and the defense stepped up in a big way against the Niners offense. Brock Purdy was limited to one of the lowest totals of passing yards in his career and Christian McCaffrey was held relatively in check. It all set up for Geno Smith to pick up another "stat" in the closing moments of the game. Looking for more Seahawks shows? It's a milestone episode (or at least half of one) depending on how you choose to look at it. It will absolutely be a milestone worth marking if the Seahawks can manage to beat a 49ers team that has had the Seahawks number since Russell Wilson left. But is that where we should be counting from or can we start from the beginning of the Mike Macdonald era now that we have a new head coach? With the departure of linebacker Tyrel Dodson, John Schneider continues to get heat from fans, but is it deserved in this case? We get into this week's matchup with the San Francisco 49ers as the Niners have their top player back in the lineup. Is Christian McCaffrey fully healthy or is Shanahan just taking away practice reps to reduce the amount of stress on his tender Achilles? We talk about Coby Bryant's recent play and how the success of the defense may depend on some of his ability to help reduce the amount of explosive plays this week. On offense, we need to see our Seahawks take advantage of a few potential absent players on the San Fran defense. We asked for your mailbag questions and the flock delivered this week. We discuss what the Seahawks may want to do at punter following this season. Plus, what will success look like at the end of the season even if the Seahawks fail to make the playoffs? What do we think the Seahawks record will be at the end of the season? In the pickem portion of the episode, hear how our overlord is asking for picks to be changed during a Seahawks bye week? This week's show kicks off with a well-deserved victory lap after a successful week of picks. We also introduce some AI research that will never be used again. Giants vs. Panthers game is one of the first matchups we look at and somehow AI believes Saquon Barkley could play a significant role. In the Patriots vs. Bears game, AI cites Bill Belichick's strategic prowess as a key factor in favor of the Patriots. The play of the offensive line and turnovers by Geno Smith in Sunday's loss to the Rams brought a lot of questions about which aspect may be more to blame for the loss. We dig into some of the answers from Mark Schlereth and his opinion as a former Pro Bowl offensive lineman. Plus, the disparity of the Seahawks quarterback under center versus their opponent reached a season high. Would it help or hurt Geno and the Seahawks if they line up under center more often? Halfway into the Seahawks, we talk about how Seattle might consider approaching the offseason. Are minor adjustments needed or is it more beneficial to do a full overhaul on the team? Ken Walker could be looking for a big time deal after Chuba Hubbard landed a nice contract with the Panthers this week. In the second half of the show, we take a look at the opponents of our NFC West rivals this week. The Overloard of the pick'em is happy and had to make one of the tougher rulings this week with so many members of the league picking 12 games correctly. The Seahawks delivered a gut-wrenching loss in overtime against the Rams, falling 26-20. In our live postgame reaction, we dive into the emotional rollercoaster that was Sunday's game. Despite a strong defensive showing, the offense struggled with turnovers, Geno Smith's three interceptions seemed to doom the team, but then he put together a comeback drive in the final two minutes of the game. We get into the debate over the decision to go for it in overtime instead of taking the points. We also highlight standout performances, including a strong game from JSN and the defense's ability to keep the Rams at bay for much of the game. Special teams also get a nod for their consistency, including a blocked punt that could have tipped the game in the Seahawks favor if not for a third turnover. As the team heads into a bye week, we discuss the potential for changes and improvements, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Looking for more Seahawks shows? Was this one of the most embarrassing Seattle Seahawks losses in recent history? We kick off the show by comparing it to one of the worst losses from Pete Carroll's first season as head coach as we discuss the broader implications of a lopsided defeat. Was this performance an indicator of deeper flaws? The Seahawks' struggles in the trenches continue, but we disagree on how to proceed. Should the team force a commitment to the run game or continue to stick with strategies that have brought success to this point? With the absence of DK Metcalf, it had an impact on the offense but it didn't impact the outcome. We also get into the leadership dynamics within the team, after comments made by Richard Sherman and others about the perceived lack of leadership. The issue seems to be more about a lack of cohesive messaging rather than an absence of leaders. With the Los Angeles Rams game on the horizon, could we see rock bottom for the team or could this game serve as a turning point for the Seahawks this season. In the second half of the show, we recap the worst weekend of the NFL season. Not only did the Seahawks lose big, every other team in the division picked up a victory. We talk about the meetup at the game and the results of last week's pickem league. Do better call outs go to a runner who survived disorientation in the woods for almost a month and to Anthony Richardson who survived shaking a tackler.
