It's rivalry week and the division title and a first round bye is on the line! We preview the Week 18 matchup between the Seahawks and the 49ers and cover everything from quarterback performances to key players on defense. With a fourth run at the Super Bowl on the line, we key in on the number four for this week's theme. The Seahawks offense, led by Sam Darnold, can exploit the 49ers pass rush, but can the defense limit a Niners offense that has been explosive these past few weeks? We close the show talking about how this game can impact coaching legacies for Kyle Shanahan and Mike Macdonald and which players could help turn the tide for Seattle to lock up the top seed and win a franchise record 14th game. Before we look ahead to the Seahawks Saturday night battle against the San Francisco 49ers, let's look back at the micro-moments in the Panthers game that kept Seattle in the pole position in the NFC. To kick things off, Ty Okada and and Drake Thomas were key in providing some sound tackling and effective run support. Additionally, we dial in on how Nick Emmanwori and Julian Love helped contain the outside runs when the Panthers tried to change things up. On offense, the focus goes to the play of the offense following the Julian Love interception - it was a physical, clock-controlling dirve that set up their late touchdown. But in traditional 3 IN, 3 OUT style, it wasn't all sunshine and roses. There were some badly whiffed blocks up front, Ken Walker tried a bit too much to bounce to the outside, and Sam Darnold did not choose wisely on his only interception/non-interception on the day. The Seahawks defense put on a clinic against the Panthers, suffocating Carolina's offense and consistently pressuring Bryce Young. The defense limited Young to less than 60 yards through the air and Julian Love picked off Young once. Rico Dowdle actually had more yards on the ground by himself than the entire passing offense. Zach Charbonnet's 122 yards nearly eclipsed the Panthers 139 total yards and his two touchdowns would have been all the offense they needed. Ultimately, the Seahawks 27-10 victory keeps them on pace to win the NFC West and take the top seed heading into the playoffs. There is one unlikely scenario that could lock up the top spot by Tuesday, but a Niners loss to the Bears could make next week's matchup relatively meaningless for San Fran. The Seahawks next step in their playoff push goes through the Carolina Panthers. We discuss injury updates with Charles Cross out once again and Coby Bryant joining him, plus we got a very limited update on Tory Horton from Coach Macdonald. We also talk about the suspension of Derick Hall and who could step up in his absence. Our latest poll reveals that most fans worry less about the Panthers' threats and more about Seattle's own ability to execute, especially in the run game. In the second half of the show, we take a look at our "best bets" and which players could see some favorable matchups against the Panthers. The Seattle Seahawks earned a victory at home over their division rival Los Angeles Rams and now head for the road to close out the final two games of the 2025 regular season. Can they finish strong enough to be able to return home for their playoff run? We kick off the show by taking a look back at the win over the Rams and some of the key moments. Is there one area where Rams fans have a legitimate gripe about the two-point conversion call that tied the game up for the Seahawks? We also talk about the Seahawks record against teams that are set to make the playoffs this season. They currently stand at 4-2, and they have a chance to improve that record over these final two weeks of the season if the Panthers are able to win their division. That record comes with a slightly disturbing stat -- or maybe a stat that provides optimism depending on your perspective. Either way, it's going to be something they likely have to overcome each week. Is there anything that should worry us about this matchup with the Panthers? We get into some of the reasons why the Panthers find themselves in position to win their division. In the second half of the show, we discuss the Seahawks six players selected for the Pro Bowl. Sam Darnold was outside the top 10 in fan voting, yet earned a spot over some high end quarterbacks in the NFC. Byron Murphy received more fan votes than any other defensive tackle, yet he was snubbed. The New York Jets franchise finds itself in the spotlight of the Do Better segment along with an Australian snake. Better at life honors go to a mammal of unusual size and Seahawks backup who deserves more praise than he's received this past week. These feisty felines have turned some heads in the 2025 season. They are well coached, run the ball well and often and are getting splash plays from Bryce Young and their young core when they've needed them most. They beat the Rams and also lost to the Saints??? So, which Panthers do we get on Sunday and how can our Seahawks stay atop the NFC by spanking the kitty yet again!?  Join our Sea Hawkers Podcast Pickem League - free prizes for weekly winners. Earl Thomas returns to the show, looking back on a whirlwind couple of months that saw him honored as a Seattle Seahawks top 50 player, raising the 12th Man flag alongside Kam Chancellor, and making another run as a Hall of Fame semifinalist. Earl shares his thoughts on the current Seahawks defense, the new "MOB" nickname, and which players he would draft to the Legion of Boom. Looking ahead, Thomas offers candid thoughts on the team's playoff push, the importance of resilience, and taking on a role a mentor and ambassador. The Seahawks rollercoaster win over the Rams goes under the microscope and into the nooks and crannies. From Sam Darnold's redemption arc to the defense's late-game heroics, we get into the brilliance and the blunders that defined the night. Were there issues with effectiveness of Kubiak's play-calling, or was execution a bigger issue? We close the show this week with a nod to the culture Mike Macdonald has instilled in this squad: resilience, humility, and a refusal to get rattled, even when the odds look bleak. Did we just witness the Game of the Year? Down by 16 points in the fourth quarter, the team overcame the odds with a pivotal punt return, a wild two-point conversion, and an incredible touchdown grab by AJ Barner. Sam Darnold overcame early turnovers and led his second straight comeback win, while Zach Charbonnet and Kenneth Walker III put up more yards on the ground than the Rams offense that didn't look like they could be stopped. The defense, after struggling to contain the Rams early, locked in when it mattered most. And thanks to all that craziness, our Seahawks have now secured a spot in the postseason. We take a brief look back at the win over the Indianapolis Colts, and Jason Myers incredible performance with six field goals, before looking ahead with optimism at the Rams game on Thursday night. Concerns about offensive consistency continue, but if the offense can convert their scoring drives to touchdowns and continue to limit turnovers, Coach Macdonald has seemed to find a way to limit the Rams explosive offense. Defensively, Seattle should even be able to improve with Jarran Reed in the lineup after missing the first Rams game, Ernest Jones seemingly healthy in comparison and Julian Love back in the lineup. Missing Devonte Adams could be big, although he only had the one catch for a touchdown in the last match. The weather could prove to be a challenge for both teams, with rain in the forecast as well as gusting winds. In the second half of the show, we talk about how some Rams fans have their eye on Joe Burrow considering his recent comments. But could a team like the Dallas Cowboys or Philadelphia Eagles make more sense? Do Better call outs go to the Cleveland Brows for continuing their disfunction in odd ways and to the weather impacting the northwest. Better at Life honors go out to an Australian hero and to our head coach assuming he meets our high expectations on Thursday. The Seahawks needed some clutch kicks, late game clock management and special teams prowess to pull ahead for the win and push their record to an impressive 11-3. We take a look at some of the critical moments, and standout performances. Nick Emmanwori's effort was on display again as he made some key tackles and provided a tribute to Kam Chancellor. The Seahawks had one key fourth down conversion in the game. Which player provided some key effort to help ensure Seattle was able to move into field goal range? Zach Charbonnet looked to be the best of the two backs on the field this week when running the ball, but what about his prowess in pass protection? Stay tuned through the INs and OUTs this week to find out which player won the coveted (and very real) MVC trophy. Join our  Sea Hawkers Podcast Pickem League - free prizes for weekly winners. The Seahawks claimed a nail-biting 18-16 win over the Indianapolis Colts, thanks to a game-winning drive from Sam Darnold in the fourth quarter. Philip Rivers clearly couldn't push the ball down field, and the Seahawks defense was able to limit Jonathan Taylor, yet Indy nearly found a way to win late in the game. Ultimately special teams was in the spotlight with Jason Myers making six field goals to secure the win. Mike Macdonald's coaching decisions on the defensive side of the ball sparked some debate. Did his clock management and conservative play calling override the need to be more aggressive? Up next: the Seahawks have a Thursday matchup with the Los Angeles Rams with the division title is the line and just three games to go. It was a busy Saturday full of Seahawks and Colts news heading into this Week 15 matchup! Seattle made three roster moves, inked a contract extension and send an early round draft pick to the IR. The wounded Colts made it official and will be starting 44-year old Phillip Rivers tomorrow in Seattle. Are the Seahawks' defense set to dominate against Rivers? In the second half of the show, hear about Clinton and Adam's best bets: predictions on Sam Darnold's passing yards, Jonathan Taylor's rushing attempts, and even some fun long shots! The Seahawks top ranked defense will have the ability, with the eyes of many NFL fans watching, shut down Phillip Rivers, Jonathan Taylor and the Colts. We also look at how Seattle can exploit the Colts depleted cornerback room and what we might expect from Jaxon Smith-Njigba. We close with a game where we get to steal away some of the Colts top players. The Seahawks face an unexpected challenge heading into this week's matchup with the Indianapolis Colts. The surprise return of Philip Rivers caught all of us off guard and now it seems to make sense that they'll immediately inject him into the lineup. We take a look at how this veteran quarterback's return could impact the game. But does it change who the primary focus should be on this Colts offense? Looking back at the win over the Falcons, there was one area that was shocking to see when it came to how the team operated against Atlanta's defense. In the second half of the show, we talk about the return of Jalen Sundell. Will the team put him back in the lineup at center or bounce him out to guard to take over for Anthony Bradford? Has Olu Oluwatimi done enough in recent weeks that Sundell should lose his starting spot? We also take some live questions as listeners want to know which Seahawks from the 2022 class could be back with the team beyond this season. In Do Better, a Giants coach gets canned following an issue with a seating assignment. That leads to a discussion about the mysterious leave of absence taken by the Seahawks running back coach Kennedy Polamalu for the rest of the year. Officiating needs to do better after reminding us that we still don't know what a catch looks like. Better at life honors go out to the Colts general manager and to Jalen Hurts for different ways they happened to provide some benefits to our Seahawks. The Seattle Seahawks kept the opposing offense out of the end zone for the second straight week. To celebrate, we're keying in on three plays by the Seattle defensive backs who helped to make it happen. From Josh Jobe protecting the sideline on an early third down to Nick Emmanwori navigating traffic for a TFL, we take a look back at the 37-9 victory. On the negative side, there were some issues with blocking. Charles Cross was nearly responsible for a safety, and a Robbie Ouzts hold contributed to a 3-and-out in the second quarter. The Seahawks dominated the Atlanta Falcons in a decisive 37-9 victory, although it came after a sluggish start to the game. A big play by Rashid Shaheed to kick off the second half helped give the team the spark they needed for the second half. Defense and special teams shined throughout the game with a field goal block by Nick Emmanwori that he coupled with his sack and 1st career interception. We talk about the adjustments in the second half that led to offensive success, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba to reach nearly 100 yards in a two touchdown performance.  Join our Sea Hawkers Podcast Pickem League - free prizes for weekly winners. As we look ahead to the Seahawks upcoming game against the Atlanta Falcons, we discuss what it will take to secure that crucial 10-3 record. The Falcons are struggling in key areas like pass pro and run defense, so what can the Seahawks do to make sure those struggles continue? With the Falcons leaning heavily into their running game, that may be an area where our Seahawks can exploit them. Later in the episode, we rank which aspects of each team stand the most chance of getting hot and why our defensive and offensive lines are poised to shine. Plus, our flockers chime in with their game wishes and predictions. We cap things off by setting expectations for individual player performances, hoping to see a return to form for Sam Darnold and a potential big game for Kenneth Walker.
