A body is pulled from the ocean, and a race against time to capture one of the world's most wanted criminals begins.
This is the story of a con man who couldn't stop lying. A tale of murder, stolen identities, fine art, a diaper stuffed with gold bars, and a crime solved by a Rolex watch. From rural Canada to coastal England, he lied and deceived at every turn.
Award-winning podcaster Sam Mullins (Chameleon: Dr. Dante & Wild Boys) takes you inside the world of a devious scammer whose trail of destruction crosses continents and decades. So who is he? And how did this ruthless villain finally get unmasked?

I can completely understand how Kerry feels is not about the money. It was about control. Barry Sherman controlled Kerry by controlling his funds and manipulating him into behavior he felt was appropriate and rewarded him with funding that behavior.
I would be shocked if even 10% of what D.A said was genuine or honest.
DA is definitely from the west end of Toronto.
I'm pretty sure DA is from Toronto
I'm new to this podcast and really enjoyed this series. I liked the format and intrigue. Yes, it's disappointing that there was no real outcome, especially for the families, but then for the type of case it is, I wasn't really expecting one. Good work all round.
This is an old series. Listened to it a few years ago
You may want to consider Uncover.
You bet I'm crying.
Note for anyone with misophonia: the jingling dog collar is persistent and kind of...a lot in this episode.
This is such a fascinating story for many reasons. I admire Pauline for telling her family's story with grace and sensitivity. My only complaint is that through the series, the interviews are mixed so much quieter than Pauline's direct narrative. It made it tricky to get the volume right as I constantly had to adjust up or down depending on who was talking.
extremely moving and touching podcast about People and crimes that should never be forgotten ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
You want my sympathy? it's on the dictionary between "shit" and "syphilis" I've never heard more melodrama by someone who walked headlong into some bullshit, knowing it was some bullshit almost from the jump--and paid thousands to do it.
Great, another podcast that could've been just two episodes. Investigative podcasts don't need long storytelling. Start with the facts, instead of misleading the listeners with suspense.
The sister-in-law refusing to answer questions, is unacceptable. Questions people have BECAUSE of what she's said. 🤦🏻♀️
in 6th grade our teacher read us The Crucible to teach us the dangers of mass hysteria, group think, and the human attraction to fantastical fanaticism. I greatly appreciate that.
Stopping before my head explodes. Thankfully Uncover has plenty of other seasons to choose from.
Yawn! Whinge whinge no point trying, no one understands, no one can ever help me so what's the point. Yes, a therapist can't alter your physical appearance but they can help you find another way to value yourself, they can help you learn that your happiness doesn't need to come from external places, that being single or not in a relationship isn't the end of the world. It's possible to think for yourself, you don't need to buy into the superficial "beauty is all" mindset. Ridiculous first world problems!!
So true, what kind of school is built with a cemetery? 167 kids and counting, such a tragedy, an avoidable government sponsored tragedy. Uplifting to hear the children joyfully chanting and dancing at the end of their school week. Great to hear them claiming back their culture.
Fantastic podcast, completely heart breaking story but I'm glad to hear these huge ongoing generational abuses finally being exposed. Ignoring these stories solves nothing and just makes it easier for predators to continue their abuse. I find it infuriating but sadly unsurprising to hear that even after being found guilty in court these criminals are protected and cared for by the religious institutions they represent. The utter hypocrisy of providing care & comfort to abusers while attempting to deny the evidence of dozens of victims in order to avoid responsibility and/or compensation is revolting. I really wish this was the last time this type of story would be uncovered but I'm positive it won't be. Sad.
what about heteo panic...since I'm a lesbo
