Good to hear you say you dont sew for your daughter much except for special occasions. Thats my experience with my grandaughter. I was feeling a bit like a lousy sewing Grandma and you made me feel normal again! She is 2 and I am making a dress with a Sesame Street applique for her to wear to a Sesame Street event. Then I will focus on a dress for Christmas time.

Another thought to avoid the unpolished look is good lighting, especially for those of us who are a bit older! It helps with accurate sewing, it helps with color combinations (thread and fabric, trim and fabric, etc), and it helps to see one’s “oops”…hopefully before the item is a finished product. Happy sewing!
