Josh Kerns looks back on Big Star's acclaimed third album and shares details on how you can hear an all-star super group perform it live. Ken Stringfellow, from R.E.M. fame, joins Seattle Sounds to discuss this upcoming event and his love for Big Star's music. Bumbershoot Program Manager Chris Weber, gives Seattle Sounds the skinny on the comedy side of Bumbershoot. Plus, he shares some of the acts you can't miss. Later, Josh discusses the poster culture ahead of the Flatstock exhibit at Bumbershoot's Armory.

50 years ago this week the Beatles played Seattle for the first time. Legendary local DJ Pat O'Day catches up with Seattle Sounds to talk about the efforts to get them to Seattle, the level of excitement that surrounded the group, how they are celebrating the anniversary next week and much more. Mike West, host of Breakfast with the Beatles, joins Josh to share his thoughts on the band, talk about their live performances and play some rare audio.

Host Josh Kerns starts the show with an update on London Tone Music's 52x52 campaign, which releases a single every week, for 52 weeks. Eric Lilavois and Jeff Heiman from London Tone Music are in-studio to discuss how the project has gone, the challenges in recording a single every week and the exposure it has received so far. He explains his decision to go acoustic, details his solo tour and shares when we can expect a new album from the Melvins. Do you have plans to celebrate Solstice? Josh speaks with an organizer from next weekend's Fremont Fair about the new Solstice Concert Series. They discuss the addition of music to the weekend celebrations, what acts you can expect and where the stage will be. The Music Startup Academy, a program designed to reduce barriers to entry into the music business, is coming to Seattle. Josh is joined by Bill Wilson, from the Music Business Association, to look at what the program does, its success, and whether there are any notable names to come out of the program. Amazon is moving into the music business with the launch of a new music streaming service. Geekwire's Todd Bishop joins the show to discuss why Amazon decided to do this now, how the service will work and much more.

Josh previews one of the most anticipated productions to hit Seattle in some time. The star of Once, Stuart Ward joins Seattle Sounds to discuss the award winning musical, the music at the heart of its success and the heavily acclaimed film it is adapted from. Plus, Ward discusses his new EP and performs live. Seattle singer/ songwriter Naomi Wachira discusses this week's benefit for Mary's Place, a shelter for homeless women and children. Owuor Arunga, the trumpeter for Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, catches up with Josh to discuss his whirlwind ride with the local duo, his upbringing in Kenya and to explain the upcoming Madaraka Festival.

Josh visits with Megan Griffiths, director of the acclaimed new film "Lucky Them" set amidst the Seattle music scene, Josh previews the lineup for the annual Seattle Out to Lunch concert series with Brian Fisher from the Downtown Seattle Association, and Rob Townsend from Folklife chats about this year's festival.

Also on the show, the winners of the 2014 Hard Rock Rising Global Battle of the Bands, Joyfield, and Jake Uitti of the Monarch Review details his own Oso benefit featuring Same Love star Mary Lambert.

Singer and Pianist, Shenandoah Davis, sits down with Josh to discuss her influences and all of her different projects. Plus, she debuts a new song live on the show.
