Every year I feel that people believe everyone should feel joyful, connected, celebratory, and full. For some, the season is filled with laughter, family gatherings, shared meals and traditions and for other it carries grief, loss, change and empty chair. If this Christmas feels tender to you. You are not broken, behind or alone. Sometimes the bravest thing we can do at a time like this is to simply keep our hearts open in the midst of change. Christmas invites us into connection, not just with others, but most importantly with ourselves. Place one drop of essential oils into your palms and then rub them together, place over your heart and belly and take three deep breaths. Use frankincense for peace, perspective, and spiritual connection. Lavender to calm the nervous system. Orange for lightness and joy. Sandalwood for grounding, safety and deep presence and rose, if you need pure love and heart healing. Christmas isn’t just about perfection. This season isn’t asking you to be more. It is inviting you to be true. Love the people you have, remember those you miss, celebrate what is growing and honour you beautiful soul and the incredible resilience that lives within you.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 542: Drowning Lifeguards: Listening to the Body with Ruth Hull

In this deeply nourishing conversation, Kim welcomes Ruth Hull, a former investment banker turned reflexologist, homeopath, and author of Drowning Lifeguards. Ruth shares her remarkable journey from high pressure corporate life to natural therapies, shaped by her own experience with chronic fatigue and burnout. Together, Kim and Ruth explore the body’s subtle language, the emotional roots of fatigue, and how modalities such as reflexology, homeopathy, essential oils, and self-reflection can support healing. They discuss the integration of conventional and alternative medicine, the unique traits of high-achieving individuals prone to burnout, and why self-love is not a destination, but a daily, living practice. This episode is a powerful reminder that illness can be an invitation to slow down, listen deeply, and reconnect with the wisdom of the body, mind and soul. About Ruth Hull: Trained as a homoeopathic doctor, Ruth Hull is a counsellor, integrative health consultant and author who has spent more than twenty-five years helping people navigate fatigue, burnout and chronic exhaustion. With master’s degrees in counselling and health science, she brings a gentle and grounded approach to healing, weaving together trauma informed therapy, natural health and practical, realistic support. Her work centres on helping people understand their bodies, reconnect with themselves and rebuild their energy in ways that feel achievable and sustainable. She is the author of five widely used health science textbooks, including three on anatomy and physiology, and her new book Drowning Lifeguards offers a practical and compassionate guide for anyone feeling overwhelmed or depleted. Through both her writing and her clinical work she aims to make healing feel less overwhelming and more human. Her definition of Self Love is: Self Love is like a relationship. It’s what you do. It’s the actions you do. If you think of a really good relationship, it us about always being there for that person. So always being there for yourself, supporting yourself, standing up for yourself. Accepting yourself just as you are. Her favourite quote is – Illness is an opportunity for growth and transformation, whilst recovery is just a return to the obsolete status quo. That is when I started to really learn what healing is really about. I wrote my book, Drowning Lifeguards, which is the book I wish I had had when I was struggling so much. We are not just physical beings. We are energetic beings. We are made up of energy and energy needs to flow. Reflexology will one day be proven through science but to me it is really about the flow of energy. The body never lies. The physical body is really just an expression of something much deeper, like our emotions, our spirit, our soul and our mental health. I think what we are learning is unlearning that is we are learning to remove those barriers that we have grown up with. I think we see life through spectacles and we have lots of spectacles that are put on us from our parents, our teachers, who are mean to us, from the kids in the playground. We put all these little glasses on and they stop us seeing life as it is and they stop us connecting with deeper things. I very much believe, especially with essentials oils. We have to remove our logical mind. A lot of the healing happens through the smell and memories If we can get our logical mind out the way and let the body speak that is when we will find what is good for us. If you can stop listening to all the noise outside and actually just get quiet and find what feels good. The quieter we get, the more we hear. The more you just allow yourself to be with yourself, the more you will be able to listen to your body. People with fatigue and burnout are busy, busy, busy people. They are not listening to themselves. If they were to just stop and start listening to what they really need, that is when the healing takes place. No one really knows yet how homeopathy works but there is so much clinical evidence. Like treats like. Vaccination is a personal choice. There is no right or wrong way. If we believe something to be truly safe or ok, then our body potentially can respond in a safe and good way. I think allopathic medicine shines in emergency medicine and homeopathy shines in chronic disease. I think we can work together. In a consultation we look at the whole person, we ask a lot of questions about their background and childhood. We ask about stress and diet. We put everything together and find a remedy that will suit that whole person. Drowning Lifeguards is for the people who look after other people and put themselves last until they are drowning and have no energy to swim. What is the fatigue protecting you from. I put in everything I have learned along the way and everything I try to work through with my client. Illness in our body is our soul trying to tell us something. If we listen, we change, transform and grow.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 541: Self Love Quicky - Year of the Snake to the Year of the Fire Horse

In this week’s Quicky Kim focuses on the transition from the Year of the Snake to the Year of the Fire Horse in 2026, exploring the symbolic meanings and numerological significance of these astrological shifts. Kim shares insights about using essential oils, rituals, and meditation practices to anchor this powerful threshold, emphasising the importance of balancing stillness and momentum while trusting inner wisdom. Kim shares motivational guidance about embracing self-love and confidence as you prepare for the new year, with particular emphasis on releasing old patterns and harnessing the transformative energy of the fire horse. All the essential oils mentioned in this show can be found at www.twenty8.com. Don’t forget to use your Self Love Podcast special code below. Links to follow: Website: https://twenty8.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/twenty.8.essential/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/twenty8essentials Quotes: We are standing at a powerful threshold, moving from the year of the snake into the bold, fiery momentum of the year of the fire horse. It is a shift in how we live, how we lead, and how we listen. The snake is the wise one. It doesn’t rush, it doesn’t seek approval, it sheds what no longer fits. The year of the snake has invited us into deep inner work. Listening to our intuition, releasing outdated identities, and honouring the wisdom stored in the body. Many of us have been asked to let go this year, not because we have failed, but because we have evolved. The snake whispers, you don’t need to force clarity, you just need to trust it. Have you been listening to yourself? Favourite oils for releasing and to tap into the power of my own intuition include Frankincense, Myrrh, Sandalwood, and Vetiver. I release what no longer serves. I trust my inner knowing. I honour the wisdom within. The fire horse moves boldly forward. Where the snake asked you to reflect, the Fire Horse asks will you act? I think 2026 is about courage, action, visibility, and leadership through embodiment and living your truth out loud. Oils that activate horse energy include ginger, sweet orange, cedarwood and cinnamon. I move forward with courage, my energy is focused and grounded, I lead with heart not force. A blend that bridges the two would be frankincense, sandalwood, ginger and orange. I act from wisdom, not fear. I trust my timing, and I honour both stillness and momentum. The snake prepared you. The fire horse activates you. You are not here to dim your fire. We invite you to move wisely, courageously and consciously. This is about being consciously aware of calm power.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 540: From Existing to Living : Millie Thomas’ Journey with Anorexia

In this powerful conversation, Kim Morrison sits down with Millie Thomas, an eating disorder recovery coach, to share Millie’s raw and deeply personal story of surviving and fully recovering from a 15 year battle with anorexia nervosa. Millie takes us back to her teenage years in Auckland, where perfectionism, control, and pressure became fertile ground for the illness. Despite academic achievement and outward success, she describes the inner torment, the escalating compulsions, and the heartbreaking moment at 27 when her doctor asked her to decide whether she wanted to live or die. A turning point came through unconventional but deeply human support including work with Silky, an NLP practitioner, who helped Millie reframe the disorder as a set of changeable behaviours and begin the courageous climb back to life. Kim and Millie explore the reality that eating disorders are biopsychosocial illnesses that infiltrate every corner of a person’s world and profoundly affect families too. Millie speaks candidly about the impact on her parents and brother, the role of hope, and why recovery requires compassion and boundaries. Together they unpack how the eating disorder “voice” distorts language and meaning, why “just eat” is not only unhelpful but misunderstands the terror response, and how the recovery journey can feel chaotic while actually being a reclaiming of control. Millie also shares how her lived experience fuelled her mission: moving to the Sunshine Coast, contributing to broader support pathways (including involvement in residential recovery approaches), and building her private practice HealED, supporting clients worldwide. The episode closes with practical insight for carers and loved ones, and introduces Millie’s Hope & Healing Affirmation Cards. A purpose built resource designed specifically to support eating disorder recovery with grounded, relevant language. About Millie: Millie Thomas is a Carolyn Costin Institute Certified Eating Disorder Recovery Coach and a Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner. She battled Anorexia Nervosa for 15 years and very nearly lost her life to the illness. She was given up on by her treatment team and told to consider palliative care options. Her miraculous recovery was a catalyst for a complete career change. She left her hometown of Auckland, New Zealand and moved to her ‘happy place’ – the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. Where she became determined to use her lived experience to help bring eating disorders out of the shadows and into the light. She dedicates her time to eating disorder advocacy and eating disorder recovery coaching. She helps clients around the world to gain freedom from their eating disorders and reclaim their lives. Millie has her private practice HealED and for several years she also worked with Sunshine Coast based charity endED where she was involved in numerous projects including the establishment of Australia’s first residential eating disorders facility ‘Wandi Nerida’. She believes that no matter how long or how hard someone’s journey with an eating disorder has been full recovery is always possible; she is living proof of that. Her definition of Self Love is: Self-love, for me, is giving myself grace while holding hope. Never giving up on myself and choosing to live, not just exist. Her favourite quote is from: Ralph Waldo Emerson- To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded. Real success in life is being the kind of person who makes others feel safe enough to be themselves — exactly as they are. Up until then I had no conception about my body other than what it allowed me to do. I had all personality characteristics that predisposed someone to anorexia. I still had all the thoughts, I had the same brain but different body. I felt I had to pretend that I was doing well. I was existing but not truly living. You might be weight restored but you actually need to be heart restored. Perfectionism can look like an asset, but at that point in my life it was a liability. It was toxic. The need to always do better, it is never enough. I looked happy in all the photos from Ibiza and France, but I was miserable. I was living with a demon in my head. My GP looked at me with tears in his eyes and said, ‘I need you to decide whether you want to live or you want to die because I need to know how to proceed with how we care for you. There was no peace, every single thing that I did I was punished or tortured for. The only way I could I see myself being at peace was being above the world looking down and up from a far. I had vicious voices in my head telling me these horrible things are going to happen if you don’t do this. It is like another force that I can’t even describe. Silky told me, you don’t have an eating disorder. It is something you do, a behaviour that has become a habit and behaviours can be changed. This was the moment when I thought she is right. It was a real sense of empowerment. I thought, if I die now, I will never know what it’s like to live. I felt I owed it to myself to give life a go. If I really hated it that much, on the other side I could always go back. It was the most excruciating, tortuous time of my life. It brought me to my knees, but it also opened the world back up to me. I put one foot in front of the other every single day and I did it. I gained the weight, and I moved on with my life. Recovery felt like standing on the edge of a cliff . Terrifying, unknown, but also strangely liberating. I talk about the 3 C’s which is conscious, consistent and commitment. My eating disorder was consciously, consistently committed to ruining my life hence I had to be consciously, consistently committed to reclaiming my life back. I often thought to myself as I was kicking and screaming on the floor in the middle of recovery “Why me?” What is the reason for this. This was the reason. I was here to use my story and turn my pain into my purpose and create change. Those 15 years were a living hell but without them, I wouldn’t be here now, helping people find freedom, and for that I am forever grateful. People can get well. It is not something you have to battle for the rest of your life with the right support. I knew lived experience was gold. It is the lived experience that helps me to help my clients in a compassionate way. Everything I do now comes from having been there. You can’t bullshit a bullshitter when you have lived it. There was a period where my brother disowned me and said, ‘If you don’t get rid of this illness, I’m out”. Even then, all I cared about was being skinny. I didn’t care if I lost my brother. I was so far down the rabbit hole that it was like water off a duck’s back and that still frightens me to this day. When I think about the possibility that I may never have been an Auntie that breaks my heart. Unless you have lived it as a family, you cannot even begin to imagine how wild that ride is. Eating disorders prey on perfectionism. That black and white thinking of ‘you must do this’ or something terrible will happen. The voice told me every single day, if you do XYZ, you will be happy for the rest of your life. I fell for that spell. Hook, line and sinker. That if I had the perfect body, everything else would fall into place. You think you are in control, but really the eating disorder is in the driver’s seat. Recovery feels like losing control completely but it is actually you taking the control back. As morbid as it sounds, the eating disorder’s goal is to kill you. That is its motive. One of the most important things is to always hold hope. Approach it with love, compassion and non judgement but also have boundaries and encourage them to reach for a different life. Every single time you ask them to be included, they realise they still matter in the world. Connection is key. There was not one aspect of my life that was not affected by my eating disorder. If you can help someone get out of their head and into their heart, piece by piece, bit by bit, that is what helps them keep going.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 539: Self Love Quicky - The Power of Being the Observer

In this weeks Quicky of the Self-Love Podcast, Kim explores the importance of developing observation skills as a tool for personal growth, discussing how stepping back from emotional triggers can lead to better understanding and management of one’s emotions. She delves into scientific concepts like pattern interrupts and neuroplasticity, sharing practical techniques such as the “observer breath” and sensory rituals to help manage emotional responses and create new neural pathways. Kim shares insights on becoming an observer of one’s thoughts and emotions, emphasising the value of self reflection and emotional detachment for personal growth and self-improvement. All the essential oils mentioned in this show can be found at www.twenty8.com. Don’t forget to use your Self Love Podcast special code below. Links to follow: Website: https://twenty8.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/twenty.8.essential/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/twenty8essentials Quotes: One of the most empowering skills any one of us can develop is learning to be the observer. What if we practised zooming out and becoming the observer? Stepping back from the emotional charge and watching the moment with curiosity rather than judgement. It is like rising above the scene, seeing yourself and the other person from a higher vantage point. Triggers activate neural pathways that have often been strengthened for years. When we pause, we get an opportunity to break that automatic loop. This is neuroplasticity in action. Your brain rewiring itself through awareness. Even a three second pause can shift your physiology from fight or flight into rest and digest. When you pause, when you become the observer, when you zoom out, observation opens the door to transformation. I call it the zoom out breathe. Take one, slow deep inhalation and take a step back or upwards, as if you are watching the scene. Name what’s happening: Say to yourself ‘I’m noticing this activation or trigger.’” This shifts you from being in the emotion to actually observing it. Ask yourself: What does the best version of me choose next? Is this really true? Another thing I like to say in my head is, ‘Wow, that’s interesting.’ Anchor through sensory rituals. Essential oils like lavender, neroli, frankincense or your favourite Twenty8 blend can create a physical anchor. Celebrate the pause. You are literally reshaping and rewiring your brain. These micro victories of not reacting can compound into deep embodied change. Becoming the observer isn’t about detaching. It is about holding yourself with compassion. When you observe your thoughts and emotions without becoming them, you truly gain true freedom. Self love isn’t something you just feel. It is something you practise in these exact moments you are tempted to react.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 538: A Mother’s Journey to Healing with Claire Holmes

n this heartfelt episode, Kim speaks with Claire Holmes who shares her remarkable journey from a nurturing childhood in country Victoria to becoming a health educator and functional nutritionist. Her story takes a profound turn when her second child is born prematurely and begins facing complex health challenges, sending the family on a long and emotionally exhausting search for answers. Claire opens up about the devastating experience of being misunderstood and even accused of child abuse, the financial strain that followed, and the heartbreak of watching her child suffer, before finally discovering that toxic mould in their home was at the root of her daughter’s illness. Through adversity, Claire found strength in intuition, mindset, and the power of reframing her inner world. She speaks candidly about shifting from a victim based mindset into one of empowerment through neuro-wisdom practices and subconscious reprogramming. Claire explains how deeply held beliefs, formed in childhood, can shape our health and lived experiences, and how humour, patience, and persistence play an essential role in creating lasting change. The conversation explores the courage it takes to be vulnerable, confront buried emotions and break old patterns. Claire shares how this inner work transformed not only her health, but her family’s life, leading her to homeschool her children for several years and teach them to trust their bodies rather than suppress symptoms with quick fixes. She reflects on her spiritual approach to healing, acceptance, and compassion, and how she now supports others as a functional nutritionist by educating clients and empowering them to trust their intuition. Claire and Kim reflect on the ongoing challenge of balancing purpose driven work and motherhood, the power of zooming out to gain perspective, and the importance of leading with love, compassion, and self trust through life’s most challenging seasons. About Claire Claire Holmes is a New Biology Practitioner and Functional Nutritionist. She has undergone further study specifically in Neurowisdom, Isotropics, The Microbiome, Terrain Therapy, Yoga and Breathwork, Bioelectric Therapy and the Root Cause Protocol. Claire grew up on a farm, living in the outdoors, eating nourishing food and growing up in a loving family with three older brothers. Claire loves surfing, camping, yoga, homeschooling her two children and the deep connected relationships in her life. Life was very smooth and easy for her until she became a mother and then life took a turn. Claire believes that thanks to the trauma, hardships and struggles; she has become the person she is, with the wisdom she now has to share with the world. Without the bathroom floor moments, she believes she would not have grown spiritually and emotionally in the way that she has. Claire wouldn’t have discovered her life purpose. She would not have been forced to find real tools for healing and have connected with the incredible healing mentors she stumbled up around the world. It’s these experiences that have shaped her life and the path she is on now. Claire now offers health consultations and holistic wellness support. She only treats YOU and your unique STORY. She is not concerned with a diagnosis, but more on how you feel and the journey that has led you to the symptoms you have. Two people can have identical symptoms; but the cause and healing path for these two people will possibly be completely different. Everyone’s health journey is completely unique. I will deeply listen! What she hopes individuals will come to understand after working with her is that your body isn’t faulty and just randomly breaks down every so often. She helps you understand and embody a paradigm shift and understand that your body is a self-healing ecosystem that is always working to recreate balance, health and vitality. Symptoms are just the body’s way of communicating an important and timely message. They are either a protective response or part of the body’s process of trying to heal. Your body is incredible; if it’s given what it truly needs it will heal and regain optimal health. Everything your body is doing is for you, not against you. Her definition of Self Love is: Self-love is honouring who you are, being your true self in every moment and not trying to be anybody else. When you get to know yourself, life just works for you. Her favourite quote is: More smiling, less worry, more compassion, less judgement, more blessed, less stressed, more love, and less hate Links to follow: Website: www.nourishingme.com.au Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/nourishingme.au/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/nourishingme/ Quotes: I grew up in country Victoria in a very loving, blessed home. I had a mother who was very intuitive. She just knew how to give us an upbringing that really nurtured our soul and our health. For me, travelling was a real journey of just discovering who I was. I was happy and enjoying life, really living life to the fullest. Something flicked in me, and I knew that wasn’t our journey. I sat on this hospital bed for 10 weeks and I meditated and visualised to keep this beautiful girl alive. I got to the point where I doubted myself as a mother. I said maybe I shouldn’t be her mum. My husband stepped in, and he was incredible and he just made me come back into my truth and trust him, he gave me the confidence to move forward and trust in what I was doing and keep searching for the answers. When we make a decision in life things just come our way and then decided that that with my whole heart that I was going to keep on fighting. Within two weeks of moving house, we had a new daughter. My husband is probably one of the most positive men I know. He can see the bright side. He helped me when I sort of lost the light to see the light again. He honours the ground I walk on, and I honour the ground he walks on, and he made me rediscover my gifts again and the beautiful mother intuition that I had. I was sitting in this place of victim consciousness. That life is happening to me and I am powerless. Our mind is like a movie projector onto our world. Whatever’s playing in our subconscious, we just project on the world to create our experience over and over again. This work is the hardest work anyone will do. We have to expose the illusion and recreate a new story. To reprogram a mind takes a lot of time, commitment and a big sense of humour. You have to dive in and know that being vulnerable is actually a strength. It is not that you are broken. It is just your program that is controlling how you show up in the world. Everyone is on their own unique journey and it is perfect for them. Not everyone is ready to go deep. We have to surrender. We don’t actually have to be friends with everyone. We can move in different directions in our life and people flow in and out. The right people come into our lives at the right time. Whenever there is a symptom, the body is always talking to us. I really want to shape their belief system and give them the best start to life. I deeply listen to their bodies. In homeschooling I could show them the fundamentals of health that I hope they come back to that when they have challenges in life. I have two very wise kids that understand a lot about health and they are my biggest teachers. I help empower people through understanding why that symptom has arisen and getting them to discover why that illness has happened. If we block a healing process, the body will have to do it again. Often worse. I see it as educating people to empower them. Every event that happens, we get to choose how we react in every moment. Be conscious on how you engage in the world, these events will keep happening, If you have the same reaction, you will create the same outcome. When you get to know yourself, life just works for you.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 537: Self Love Quicky - The Power of Trust

In this heartfelt Quicky, Kim explores one of the most powerful yet often overlooked inner abilities we all possess, the power of trust. Through gentle reflection and guided insight, you will be invited to reconnect with the quiet wisdom that lives beneath the noise, your intuition, your body’s signals, your heart’s truth and the natural rhythms of life itself. Together, we unravel the many layers of trust. Trusting your heart’s fierce knowing, your mind’s clarity, your body’s compass and your gut’s instinctive guidance. You will be reminded that feelings are feedback, intuition is ancient wisdom, and nature is one of our greatest teachers. As you listen, you will discover how trust leads us from fear and control into flow, alignment, courage and deep self connection. If you have been seeking clarity, reassurance, or a gentle nudge back to yourself, this episode is your sign. You will learn how to honour your inner knowing, recognise the signals your body sends, reconnect with the earth beneath your feet, and step into a life that feels guided, grounded, and beautifully aligned. Trust your timing. Trust your journey. Trust yourself. All the essential oils mentioned in this show can be found at www.twenty8.com. Don’t forget to use your Self Love Podcast special code below. This is really our intuition speaking, it is our inner wisdom. It doesn’t always speak in words. The truth before the world’s noise or interruptions or distractions get in. The heart is not foolish, but it’s fierce and wise, and if we look at it, it beats to the rhythm of love, not logic. When we trust our heart we open ourselves to connectedness, compassion and courage. We can trust the body. The body never lies. Learning to read our body signals, that is a radical act of self respect. When the gut says no, it is probably important that we listen. When it says yes, I think it’s equally important that we lean in. Trusting our feelings doesn’t mean reacting. Maybe it means more about honouring the messages that our feelings carry. Nature doesn’t rush. The tree never questions whether it will bloom again. It trusts the seasons. When we don’t trust, when we stop trusting ourselves, we outsource our own power. You were born with that wisdom. It has been there all along. We just need to slow down and get quiet enough to hear it again. Trust is an energy that builds with every choice aligned to your truth. Your body is a phenomenal compass, your heart is your guide, and your mind is the translator. Trust yourself. Trust your timing. Trust your journey, and trust that the more you do, the more your life will flow in ways that you once only dreamed possible. When you trust yourself, you become unstoppable.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 536: Medicine with Heart with Dr Michelle Woolhouse

In this heartfelt conversation, Kim sits down with Dr Michelle Woolhouse, an integrative and holistic medical doctor, to explore self-love and health. Together, they reflect on the growing need for deeper, more human centred care in a medical system that often prioritises speed and quick fixes. Michelle shares her personal journey from traditional training to a more holistic practice, describing how burnout, time pressure, and societal expectations have pushed medicine away from empathy, depth and meaningful connection. Kim and Michelle discuss how true healing requires looking beneath symptoms to understand trauma, emotional patterns, and the body’s innate wisdom. Michelle explains why longer, more intentional consultations allow space for this depth, and the two explore how early life experiences shape adult wellbeing. Their conversation also touches on the changing perception of doctors, the rise of integrative medicine, and the importance of restoring empathy and humanity in healthcare. They explore the intelligence of the heart, the role of awe and nature in healing, and the need to honour rest and resilience. Both women emphasise the value of embracing discomfort as a catalyst for growth, and Michelle shares how self-love can be cultivated even when it feels difficult. Sometimes beginning with the love we receive from others. The episode weaves together reflections on aging, personal development, intuition, and the profound healing available through connection with nature. Kim and Michelle close with mutual appreciation and a commitment to supporting people to trust their bodies, reconnect with themselves and navigate midlife with compassion and confidence. About Michelle Dr Michelle Woolhouse is an integrative GP, thought leader, and visionary in whole-person medicine. With nearly 3 decades of clinical experience, she combines the best of science, psychology, and spirituality to help people rediscover balance, vitality, and meaning in their health journeys. Michelle founded and built Whole Medicine, one of Victoria’s largest and most respected integrative medical clinics, which she successfully sold after more than a decade of growth and innovation. She went on to co-found Vively, a digital health platform that has supported over 30,000 Australians, providing real-time insights into how lifestyle choices shape metabolic health. A passionate communicator, Michelle co-hosts the acclaimed FX Medicine podcast — with more than 385,000 downloads — and was recognised by BioCeuticals with the Best Broadcast Award for The Good Doctors Podcast in 2017. Her lifelong commitment to the advancement of integrative and lifestyle medicine was honoured by The National Institute of Integrative Medicine with the Outstanding Achievement and Contribution Award in the field of Integrative Medicine in 2019. She is the founder of Enliven Retreats, transformative experiences designed for personal and professional renewal, and the author of The Wonder Within: A Heart-Led Playbook for the Anxious, Stressed and Burnt-Out. As a highly sought-after speaker, Dr Woolhouse is known for her warmth, wisdom, and visionary thinking. Her current work focuses on perimenopause, burnout, and mind-body medicine, where she continues to empower others to reconnect with their innate capacity for healing and wholeness. Her definition of Self Love is: Self love is a deep respect for the opportunity that our human life brings. Her favourite quote is from: Carl Jung -The constant flow of life again and again demands fresh adaptation. Adaptation is never achieved once and for all. I love humans, people in general and stories that people have. At the core of every consultation is the human being. We are part of nature, we belong to nature. I think most people go into medicine with a fairly significant love of humans. The training and those early years in medicine are very gruelling and they often can wound doctors quite enormously. Burnout in medicine is around some 70%. We have lost reverence, for the magic that occurs in slow time. People are starting to value depth over a surface quick fix. There is a level of expertise that with training and through 10, 15, 20, 30 years of sitting with humans at their most vulnerable. You are listening to in between the words. Maybe you got your freeze response not even from anything that happened. Maybe it is just acknowledging that that freeze response was a response by your forebears to survive. We can only take our patients as far as we are willing to go ourselves. Western medicine is Ayurvedic medicine. It is a traditional medicine. It has very holistic imprints in its history. Life is also medicine. Our heart is fully functioning with its own nervous system at four weeks when the embryo is four weeks old. The heart is like the core receptor. The heart can learn, remember, sense and feel, all without input from the brain. Awe is the fastest interconnection to the heart space and we should be seeking awe at our peril. One of the things I feel we have lost is this deep respect for rest and balance and with that we lose our recovery time. Until we get that back there is that recipe for overwhelm, over productivity, hyper vigilance and high stress. We are teaching resilience skills rather than in the trust that the body is inherently resilient and that it does have wisdom, and we know what to do. When we sit in comfort and don’t do these things we are at risk of losing a sense of edge and growth. You want to be growing until the day you die. To honour oneself is to honour life itself. I love playing around with being a receiver of life. Leaning into the love of others to help bring it home to yourself. One thing that I think is missing in everybody’s personal journey is this sense of thrusting their own body wisdom and that does come with tremendous practice. In order to garner trust, it is something that grows very slowly and can be lost very quickly. We want to be kind in real time. Introspection is this almost like the going within to understand that body wisdom. To be human is to embrace the dichotomies. To embrace the extremes and understand the paradox of what it means to be human.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 535: Self Love Quicky - Embracing the Masculine and Feminine

In this week’s Quicky, Kim explores the powerful interplay of masculine and feminine energies. Expressions that exist within all of us and shape how we live, love, and lead. Rather than being about gender, these energies reflect two complementary forces: the masculine as focus, structure, and protection, and the feminine as flow, intuition and nurturing. Kim shares how these energies mirror our nervous system, why imbalance can lead to burnout or lack of direction, and how consciously shifting between them can bring more grounding, harmony and connection into your home and relationships. You will also hear simple daily practices from planning and breathwork to essential oils that help you move between drive and softness with awareness. Whether you are in a partnership, parenting, or navigating life solo, this episode offers a heartfelt reminder that harmony comes from trust, not control. When both energies are honoured, life feels more whole, love feels safer, and our homes feel like sacred spaces. Tune in for a gentle, practical guide to embracing these energies within yourself and those you love. All the essential oils mentioned in this show can be found at www.twenty8.com. This isn’t about being male or female. I love talking about them as energetic expressions. The masculine energy exists to provide and protect. It’s the solid mountain that creates safety and direction. The feminine at her finest is here to nourish and nurture. She is the river flowing with creativity, emotion, empathy and connection. One without the other creates imbalance. Too much masculine and we burn out. Too much feminine and we lose structure or direction. The magic lies in consciously shifting between them. Knowing when to step up and when to surrender. When the masculine feels trusted to provide, protect and lead, he steps into his strength. When the feminine feels safe to nurture, nourish and receive, she expands in her power. The key is not control, but trust. Trusting the masculine to hold and trusting the feminine to feel. A child raised in a home where both energies are honoured learns resilience and empathy, strength and softness. Start the day in masculine energy, structure, focus, purpose and then consciously transition into the feminine energy, reflection, creativity, connection. Essentials oils frankincense or sandalwood can help ground the masculine. Rose , jasmine and ylang ylang awaken the feminine. In relationships, when both try to lead, conflict arises. When both surrender, stagnation sets in. The real art is taking turns. Leading and yielding as life invites. A man’s strength is sacred when it is used in service, not dominance. A woman’s softness is power when it flows from confidence, not need. When the masculine and feminine meet in balance, life feels whole, love feels safe, and our homes feel sacred.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 534: The Magick of Your Design: A Human Design Journey with Leanne Plummer

In this episode, Kim talks with human design reader and Reflector, Leanne Plummer, founder of Magick of Your Design. Leanne shares her unusual childhood travelling Australia in a caravan, her love of crystals and geology and how burnout and self inquiry eventually led her to human design. At the heart of it all, Leanne shares how human design has become a roadmap back to herself. Helping her honour her need for space, understand why friendships and socialising have always felt different for her and release the story that she was “wrong” or “broken.” Leanne explains the five human design types in simple terms, how knowing your chart can transform self-love, relationships and parenting, and why our “shadows” are actually guidance, not flaws. If you have ever wondered why you don’t quite fit the mould, this conversation will help you understand and honour, the unique magick of your design. About Leanne: Hi, I’m Leanne — Reflector, certified Human Design reader, and the heart behind The Magick of Your Design. For most of my life, I was driven by structure, deadlines, and achievement. As a project manager and technical writer, I was skilled at creating clarity for others — but I often felt disconnected from my own rhythm. Discovering Human Design changed everything. It helped me understand why traditional ways of working and living never quite fit — and it showed me how to create ease, flow, and self-trust by honouring my unique energy. As a Reflector 1/3, I’m here to mirror truth — to help you see yourself clearly, release what’s not yours, and reconnect to the essence of who you really are. Through my readings, I blend grounded insight with intuitive reflection to create calm, transformative experiences. My work isn’t about giving you another system to follow — it’s about guiding you back to your own inner guidance, your internal map. Because when you understand the magick of your design, you stop trying to fit in — and start living in resonance with who you’ve always been. Her definition of Self Love is: Self love is about honouring who you are in this moment. Her favourite quote is: There is no failure, only feedback Links to follow: Website: https://magickofyourdesign.carrd.co/ Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/share/14PE6VQx1Z3/ Leanne is offering Self Love Podcast listeners a special discounted human design reading, where she runs your chart, walks you through it and sends a detailed written report so you can revisit and integrate the insights at your own pace.  You will need to know your birthdate, time and place of birth. Below is a link to a discounted session ($75) Human Design Introduction – Self Love Special Quotes: I went to about 13 primary schools, so I was always on the road and never really felt like I made any friends or formed any real relationships in my life. That is something I carried through. I studied geology which started my love for crystals. If you lose a crystal, you are done with it. You don’t need it anymore and it doesn’t need you anymore. Hopefully someone else picks it up who needs it. I am a firm believer that things come into your life for a reason and things leave your life for a reason. I have always had a real strong sense of direction. I believe the lifestyle created that persona, and I’ve hung onto it. It has been a story of mine. I have started to let people see me. I have let them in on who I am a little bit more recently. I am a big daydreamer. I used to just daydream all the time about all sorts of stuff. I was looking for myself. Who am I? Where do I fit in this whole scheme of things?” Life’s an experiment. We are always going to keep coming across the same things, but we respond to them differently. I looked up human design and I am a reflector. The other types are generators, manifesting generators, manifestors and projectors. Discovering human design didn’t suddenly fix everything, but it gave me rabbit holes to explore on how I could lift my vibration and lift myself up. You can do the same program again and again, but you will see it differently each time because you have healed or worked on something in between. With human design, I will be forever learning more and more. I don’t think you can ever know every single aspect of it. I try to listen to different people so I am not just getting one person’s perspective on human design. I am now forming my own. I have called my work ‘The Magick of Your Design,’ because I believe that is where the magic happens – when you bring it all together and see how beautifully unique you are. Just because you have a certain gate doesn’t mean everyone with that gate will have the same interests. It is what you bring to it that makes it your superpower. Human design isn’t about making anyone wrong. It is about understanding how you are wired so you stop beating yourself up for being who you are. When a shadow shows up, it is just your warning system that you are out of alignment right now. It is not the truth of who you are. You need to learn to love your shadows. Don’t hate on them. They are simply indicators that it is time to recenter yourself. Even just knowing someones type and energy can really help you understand how to approach them and why they work the way they do. Generators and manifesting generators, if they are doing something that brings them joy they will go all day. But the other three types, once they are done, they are done. As a Reflector, people tend to see themselves in us. We mirror them back, and sometimes if they don’t like us, it is because they don’t like something in themselves. Sometimes I get really bubbly and excited in someone’s aura and then they leave and I think, ‘Oh, that wasn’t me – who was that?” We evolve all the time; every day we change. Self love is being okay with that. Life needs to be an experiment. Try something! If it doesn’t work, try it differently, pivot, go left instead of right, just keep moving forward. Human design is your roadmap, your inner wisdom is your compass, and trusting yourself is the destination.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 533: Self Love Quicky - Calm the Chaos

In this week’s quicky Kim focuses on understanding sympathetic dominance, a state of constant nervous system activation that can be triggered by modern activities and leads to various physical symptoms and chronic stress. Kim discussed the functions of the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems, emphasising the importance of balance and highlighting how prolonged sympathetic dominance can negatively impact overall health. Kim discusses simple, powerful practices to shift back into your parasympathetic nervous system to the place where your body rests, digests, heals and reconnects with joy. The constant ‘on’ mode where your nervous system believes you are in danger even when you are doing little things like checking texts or emails. Our nervous system has two main branches, the sympathetic and parasympathetic. Your sympathetic nervous system is your fight, flight, or freeze mode. Your parasympathetic system is your rest, digest and heal mode where your body restores, digests food, balance hormones and allows you to sleep more deeply. Science shows that prolonged activation of the stress responses raises inflammation, impacts, blood sugar control and alters our gut brain axis. This is why self care is so important and isn’t indulgent. It is vital for nervous system repair. Slow, diaphragmatic breathing is the fastest way to turn off the stress response. Essential oils work directly with the limbic system, the emotional brain and oils like lavender, frankincense, neroli and ylang ylang remind the body how to relax. Gentle movement tells your nervous system that you have escaped danger. It resets the loop. It is about presence not punishment. Touch and connection help with regulation. Oxytocin is nature’s antidote to stress chemistry. Eat real food, slow down when you eat and become fully present when eating. Blackcurrant performance powder supports the adrenals and can calm inflammation. Every ping from your phone triggers a micro stress response. Let your nervous system remember silence is actually ok. Prioritise rest and create daily and evening rituals. Rituals remind the body it is well and safe, and it is ok to let go. Sympathetic dominance isn’t who you are. It is just a state we have learned to live in and we can unlearn it. The path back to balance starts with intentionality and awareness.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 532: Choosing Yourself at Any Age- Bridget Melling-Williams’ Journey to Chiropractic Care

In this uplifting and deeply grounded conversation, Kim speaks with Dr Bridget Melling-Williams — chiropractor, artist, mother, and wholehearted advocate for following your passions at any age. Bridget shares her remarkable life journey, beginning on a farm in country New South Wales and leading her to a meaningful career in chiropractic on the Sunshine Coast. Bridget opens up about her early years, including the challenges of boarding school and the independence it fostered, followed by her transition into the arts and design world in Melbourne. She reflects on the unexpected pivot that came later in life. Returning to study at age 45 and finding her calling in chiropractic care. Bridget discusses how her creativity and artistic background inform her intuitive, patient centred approach to practice, where trust, connection, and presence take centre stage. Together, Kim and Bridget explore the realities of balancing family life with big dreams. She also speaks lovingly about their move to the Sunshine Coast, embracing ocean swims, surfing, and the relaxed Queensland lifestyle. The conversation then dives into chiropractic care and nervous system health. Kim and Bridget highlight the importance of stillness, breathwork, and creating space in a busy world to support emotional and physical wellbeing. The episode also touches on endurance racing, the camaraderie of the UTMB event, and the mental resilience required for long-distance challenges — both on the trails and in life. About Bridget: Bridget Melling-Williams is a chiropractor based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, where she lives with her husband—also a chiropractor—and their four sons. After a successful career as an artist, Bridget embraced a bold career change in her 40s, undertaking a five-year degree to follow her passion for helping others through chiropractic care. She specializes in techniques such as Sacral Occipital Technique and Neuro Emotional Technique, combining her love of human connection with a holistic approach to wellness. An avid adventurer, Bridget thrives in the outdoors and continually seeks new experiences as part of her self-care and commitment to living a natural, fulfilling life. She brings to her work—and her conversations—the same curiosity, creativity, and heart that have guided her through life’s transitions. Her definition of Self Love is: Looking after yourself in a way that I am doing the things I want to be doing. For me that is trying new things. Her favourite quote is: Life is short and we have not too much time for gladdening the hearts of those who travel the way with us. Be swift to love, make haste to be kind. This quote is attributed to Henri-Frédéric Amiel, a 19th-century Swiss philosopher, poet, and moralist. It’s from his Journal Intime, where he wrote reflections on life, morality, and human connection. I went to boarding school at aged 12 and had to create a real sense of independence. I found it a challenging experience. I developed a love of art. I knew I wanted to pursue art and see the world. I encouraged my husband to study chiropractic. We both resonated with it and wanted to incorporate vitalistic health in our lives. The vitalistic framework always felt natural to me. I stayed away from medical invention when I could. I felt a little burnout and I really wanted something more. I spent so much time in the chiropractic community. I found it empowering and nourishing. It filled my cup and I loved learning. I loved the philosophy of innate intelligence and allowing the body to heal and self-regulate. I loved studying chiropractic and I found my inner nerd. I loved all the subjects. I found similarities in creating art and chiropractic. A different form of art but similar in that that I do get to express myself. It’s like being a true artist. I love the engagement with people and the one on one connection. I was in love with being a mum with young children. Mike appreciated what I was doing and I appreciated what he was doing. I kept coming back to chiropractic, the nervous system is the root of everything. When I decided to study I thought in my head I am going to be 5 years older anyway. I might as well go for it. I was blown away at how intergenerational it was and they didn’t treat me any different. Let’s go and have an adventure what is the worst that can happen. I love the outdoor lifestyle and swim in the ocean, I am learning to surf and trail running. I love being in nature. Chiropractic is about regulating your nervous system. It is that master control system. We want optimum function which allows you to access both pathways. With a regulated nervous system, you can be your best self creatively, socially and think clearly. Stresses are always going to be there, we have chemical, physical and emotional stresses. Chiropractic takes tension out of the spine and out of the nervous system, if the pathways are clear your body is regulated and there is freedom of expression. We work with the body to enable self expression and self regulation. The cracking sound is due to gases in the joints and adjustments can still be effective without sound. We are feeling through the fine layers, knowing what to feel and feeling for change. Stillness and breathwork is an amazing tool Practising stillness can be more powerful than active movement. Focus on breath and sitting in stillness can be great in helping to regulate. Running in nature, in that landscape was so magical. I do love variety in my life. Self love spreads out to those I love. Making sure my boys are ok is nourishing me. An extension of self love is making sure they are ok and fulfilling their dreams. Life is short. Make the most of every moment and opportunity. Be kind!   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 531: Self Love Quicky - Honouring the Land and those Who Feed Us

In this heartfelt Quicky, Kim explores the deep and timeless connection between humans and the land. She reminds us that we don’t own the Earth. We belong to it! Through thoughtful reflections, Kim honours the farmers and rural communities who nurture life, care for the land and sustain us all. She discusses the growing disconnect between city dwellers and the people who grow our food, encouraging listeners to understand the stories behind what we eat and to recognise the dedication of those who work closest to nature. Kim also offers practical ways to reconnect with the land such as supporting local farmers and businesses, making mindful food choices, reducing waste, and practicing gratitude for every meal. From simple acts like gardening to sharing food stories with children, this episode inspires you to live in greater harmony with nature and to walk gently upon the Earth. All the essential oils mentioned in this show can be found at www.twenty8.com. Don’t forget to use your Self Love Podcast special code below. The essence of the land that we walk, it carries memories, it has energy and spirit. The Earth doesn’t belong to us. We belong to it. We are part of a greater big tapestry of life, a cycle that sustains, nourishes and connects us all. Our farmers don’t just grow food. They nurture life and take care of the land, animals and the ecosystem. Our Famers live for the reverence for the earth. Mother Nature is one of their biggest business partners. How can we reconnect and support those that live and work closely with the land? Start with mindfulness and small daily choices. You can make a difference by where you choose to spend your dollar. Buy local when you can. Ask questions when you buy food. It creates awareness and connection. Give gratitude. A simple but profound reminder to pause and give thanks for our food and those who provide it Share stories. Talk about the beauty and challenges of rural life with your children so they have an appreciation of where their food comes from. The more we share the more we honour those that work for us each day. Every act of appreciation has a ripple effect. I like to give a little whisper or prayer to the land that holds us, feeds us and grounds us. We are not separate from nature we are part of it, even an expression of it. Take a moment to honour the land on which we walk, the food we eat and honour the beautiful souls that work tirelessly to put food on our tables. Let’s give thanks.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 530: Anna Radel - From Law to Land: A Journey of Resilience and Regeneration

In this heartfelt conversation, Kim sits down with Anna Radal, a former lawyer turned cattle farmer, to explore her remarkable journey from city life in Brisbane to managing a rural property in outback Australia. Together, they dive deep into themes of authenticity, resilience, integrity and the profound connection between self-love and living in harmony with the land. Anna reflects on her early life in 1970s Brisbane, where her love for horses shaped her path from an adventurous childhood to a successful legal career. After decades in commercial law, Anna made the courageous decision to leave the profession at 50 and embrace a life rooted in farming, family, and nature. She shares candid insights about the challenges of managing a cattle station during drought, maintaining soil health, and navigating the emotional and financial pressures faced by Australian farmers. The conversation also delves into Anna’s spiritual approach to farming — one that honours animals, the land, and the cycles of life. She speaks movingly about her bond with horses, the therapeutic nature of riding, and her belief in working with nature as a business partner. Kim and Anna also discuss broader issues such as the income disparity for Australian farmers, the importance of supporting local producers, and how gratitude and mindfulness can transform our relationship with food. Throughout the episode, Kim highlights Anna’s integrity and authenticity. Values that shine through in both her legal and farming life plus the shared belief that true self love includes loving the Earth and the people who nurture it. About Anna: Anna Radel grew up in the idyllic adventure of a 1970s Brisbane childhood, where she discovered an early love for both horses and the law. Driven and determined, she pursued her dual passions relentlessly — setting her sights on becoming a leading lawyer while competing in eventing. But life had other plans. Three life-changing events within six years profoundly altered her trajectory, leading her away from the city and into the heart of rural Queensland — a move that redefined her understanding of success, strength, and connection. Alongside her husband Craig, Anna realised a lifelong dream: to own and care for their own cattle property. In 2003, with a one-month-old baby and a newly acquired legal practice, they took a leap of faith and bought their first small parcel of grazing land. Fast forward to 2025, and that vision has evolved into a thriving 10,000-acre, organically and regeneratively managed cattle enterprise. Once a strategic, pedantic, and laser-focused lawyer, Anna has since deepened her connection to the land, the soil, and the energetic world that surrounds us. She believes that the land, with all its biodiversity, profoundly supports human wellbeing — if only we take the time to listen and tune in. Her story is one of resilience, adaptability, and the courage to evolve — qualities shaped by 35 years of life and leadership in the vast pastures of Central Queensland. Her definition of Self Love is: Owning yourself with pride. Her favourite quote is from: People of integrity expect to be believed, and when they’re not, they let time prove them right. I always encouraged my kids to have crazy adventures. I am a country girl but love the powerful atmosphere of the city. Being a lawyer got to the point it wasn’t fun anymore even though I loved helping clients. It was a job that didn’t align with my ethics and values anymore. Links to the land run very deep. It is more than just a place to work. You need to look after the land as it is your long term asset. Coming home to living full time on the farm gave me a chance to heal myself as well as allow my land to heal itself. I work with nature from a subtle energy level through to what is physically is in front of us. There is a whole world under the ground. Nothing is on earth by mistake. My job is to make everyday a good day for my cows. I try and wrap them up with energy of love, calmness, serenity, purpose and gratitude. I have always been guided by my gut. Land vibrates masses amounts of energy. Big trees are like centenarians, our guides. The knowledge in a tree is phenomenal. Horses are very intuitive. Their souls connect to ours so easily. We wouldn’t be who we are without horses. Since civilisation they have been our teammates. Mother Nature is both the greatest blessing and sometimes the harsh parent teaching us lessons. My isolation came from being lawyer than living in the country. Everyone is different and your differences are beautiful. Farmers do the hard things every single day. They have no time off. You can’t let the crisis get you. This too shall pass. It’s a slow march. SLP 529: Self Love Quicky - Natural Remedies for Rosacea

In this week’s quicky Kim discusses the chronic inflammatory skin condition rosacea, sharing her personal experience and exploring both natural remedies and medical treatment options. She provided detailed recommendations for managing rosacea through dietary changes, skincare routines, and the use of essential oils, emphasising the importance of identifying triggers and maintaining a holistic approach to skin health. Kim also addresses the emotional impact of skin conditions and encouraged listeners to seek medical support while exploring natural remedies All the essential oils mentioned in this show can be found at www.twenty8.com. Links to follow: Website: https://twenty8.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/twenty.8.essential/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/twenty8essentials Blackcurrant performance https://blackcurrantperformance.com/ Quotes: There are wonderful natural ways to help calm your skin and medical treatments too. Rosacea is more than just redness. It’s a chronic inflammatory skin condition that can deeply affect confidence and wellbeing. It can be triggered by heat, stress, spicy foods, alcohol, caffeine and harsh skin care products. There’s no one size fits all when it comes to rosacea. The key is discovering what works best for your skin. Choose good anti-inflammatory foods. Foods like berries, leafy greens, turmeric and blackcurrants can calm inflammation from the inside out. Blackcurrant performance can calm the skin. It is a one ingredient superfood! Less is more when it comes to external skincare. Keep your skincare routine simple. Avoid harsh products and return to gentle, natural care. Cold compresses are great if your skin feels hot. Cold chamomile tea bag or cucumber slices compresses can do wonders for soothing heat and redness. Use essential oils diluted and mindfully. The oils I love the most include German chamomile, helichrysum or immortelle, lavender, rose and or geranium. Lavender water is also very soothing to the skin. When breathing in these beautiful essential oils they are affecting your psychology as much as they are supporting your nervous system, your physical body and skin. Rosacea rescue serum 5mls of jojoba oil or calendula and 1 drop each of chamomile, helichrysum or immortelle and lavender. Any skin condition can also be a gut issue and linked to hormonal imbalances and stress. Nourish your microbiome with probiotics, omega-3s fatty acid and vitamin c rich foods. Frankincense is your coat of armour and lavender like a mother hug to help manage the emotional stress Hydrate well. Water is important and you can add blackcurrant powder to your water & include herbal teas like chamomile. When natural remedies are not enough seeking help from a professional such as a GP or dermatologist. Healing starts when you start addressing the root cause. It doesn’t define you it could be potentially your bodies way of asking for calm. Nourish from within with natures gift and don’t be ashamed to seek medical support. Less heat, more heart and more lavender in my humble opinion. You are beautiful inside and out and don’t ever forget it.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 528: Gratitude, Growth and the Joy of Living Wild and Well with Tamara Borg

In this heartwarming and inspiring episode, Kim sits down with Tamara Borg from Wild Chicks Farm to explore her family’s journey toward sustainable living, holistic wellness and conscious parenting. Together, they reflect on the joys and challenges of moving from city life to a rural property. Living in a shed while building their dream home, growing their own food, and teaching their children the true value of connection, gratitude, and self sufficiency. Tamara shares how her love of gardening began with childhood memories in her grandparents’ garden and blossomed into a lifestyle rooted in organic living, education, and community. She offers practical insights into starting a vegetable garden, the benefits of mushroom compost, and the beauty of understanding where our food comes from. The conversation also celebrates the incredible success of Tamara’s daughter Capri, whose tallow based skincare range has become a symbol of integrity, quality, and mindful creation. Kim and Tamara discuss the family’s holistic approach to wellness, from nourishing the body with whole foods to nurturing the mind and spirit through gratitude and simplicity. This episode is a beautiful reminder that sustainable living isn’t just about what we grow — it’s about how we live, love, and lead by example. About Tamara Tamara Borg is a homeschooling mum, wellness advocate, and the founder of Wild Chicks Farms, a space for natural living. On her five-acre property in Sydney, Tamara has built a life rooted in simplicity, connection, and health. She grows seasonal produce, cares for animals, and alongside her children, creates nourishing natural products. Her eldest daughter, Capri, also runs her own business, Crystal Tallow, which Tamara supports and helps bring to life. Homeschooling plays a huge role in her world. Through it, Tamara shares practical life skills with her children from gardening, cooking, and fermenting food to weaving and whittling bush crafts. These hands-on practices are more than just skills; they are tools for building resilience, gratitude, and confidence. For Tamara, true wellbeing is about living in alignment with nature, fuelling our bodies with real food, creating a toxin-free home, and finding joy in the everyday rhythms of life. She’s passionate about inspiring others to reconnect with themselves and the earth, and to discover that wholeness and happiness begin with the small, simple choices we make each day. Her definition of Self Love is: Self Love is getting to know yourself without the ego, judgment, guilt and shame. Who I am solely, deep within. Her favourite quote is from: Hippocrates “Let food be thy medicine” Links to follow: Website: https://wildchicksfarm.com.au/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wild.chicks.farm/?hl=en Use code SELFLOVE at wildchicksfarm.com.au for a free lip balm (valued at $20) with any purchase Quotes: My love for the garden started at my grandparents house. Eating a whole organic meal from the garden is true wealth, true richness. We shared the same joy for love of nature. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to grow food at home. No matter where you are you can grow something at home. Herbs is a great place to start. To me convenience is going to your backyard and picking a lemon from a tree. When you grow your own food there is so much you are receiving from giving. Grow what you grow really well and if a crop doesn’t take off that season let it go. Do the best you can and let go of the rest. I am going to focus on a crop that is thriving and be grateful for that. It is not something I can teach, it is something they need to experience. They earn that respect from working on the land. Conscious connection that an animal was a living thing, and it has given up its life for us to be nourished and nurtured. If we give thanks to our food, we can digest it better. We are designed to give thanks and to live in gratitude. The more we give and more we receive. Connection to one another and presence I believe will heal. We are looking to outsource and it is all within. We need to reconnect with ourselves and nature. No amount of judgement would sway me away into doing what I knew was best for my children. Everyone does the best they can with what they know. Education is a huge part of it. Everything I know is something I have been taught myself. Someone has taken the time to share that with me. It is my right to share that knowledge with people to bridge that gap from ancient wisdom to the modern day world. It is my calling to share. Capri’s tallow skincare line was born from love, curiosity, and a desire to create something honest and healing. Watching my kids turn their passions into purpose reminds me that leading by example is the greatest gift we can give. Essentials oil and smell personally takes me deep. I feel grounded, connected and expanded. For me essentials oils are our medicine. We navigate by having better alternatives. Go back to basics. SLP 527: Self Love Quicky - Coping with the World

In this weeks quicky, Kim addresses concerns about the world and offers guidance on coping with fear and negativity. She suggests being mindful of news consumption and choosing to engage with media differently, focusing on positive and uplifting content. Kim emphasises the power of small, daily rituals to create joy and shift one’s state of mind, referencing scientific research on neuroplasticity and the brain’s negativity bias. She encourages you to focus on what you can control such as breathe, words, and presence, while releasing concerns about uncontrollable events. Kim concludes by reminding us of our inner strength and the collective power of positive intentions. All the essential oils mentioned in this show can be found at www.twenty8.com. We can decide on what we focus on, what we allow into our minds and what we amplify with our energy. Be mindful how much news and social media we allow in. Watch with curiosity rather than being pulled into the drama. Ask yourself is this nourishing me or depleting me? We can’t change the outside world, but we can change the micro world of our day to day. Create joy in small ways. Gratitude, kindness and conscious self care practises can rewire the brain. When life feels heavy, pause and ask yourself what can I control right now? When we release what isn’t ours to carry, we step into a far greater sense of peace. You are way more powerful than you realise. Choose love over fear. “It’s not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters.” Epictetus “In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.” Anne Frank   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 526: Awakening the Self A Conversation with Pete Evans Part Two

In Part two of this two-part episode of Awakening the Self, Kim and Pete Evans continue their conversation into deeper philosophical and spiritual territory. They explore the nature of truth, personal belief systems and the evolution that comes through both joy and challenge. Pete shares his evolving perspective on life and death, his connection to nature, and how he finds presence in uncertainty. The discussion expands into the spiritual and philosophical aspects of Bitcoin. Its parallels with nature’s uncorruptible design and its potential to reshape how we relate to money and integrity. The episode closes with a reflection on living in the present, trusting that everything unfolds in perfect timing and Pete’s simple yet profound invitation: “Be you.”   About Pete: Starting work in his first commercial kitchen at just 13, Pete Evans’ passion for food quickly evolved into a lifelong career. By 17, he was a full-time chef, and by 19, a restaurateur — opening numerous award-winning restaurants across Australia and cooking in some of the finest establishments around the world. Pete’s career spans professional kitchens, television, film, publishing, and wellness innovation. He continues to consult on restaurant and wellness projects globally, developing menus and concepts that celebrate nutrition, sustainability, and flavour. Pete has appeared in numerous television and film projects throughout his career. His acclaimed documentary The Magic Pill — exploring the powerful connection between food and health — continues to stream globally. He followed this with The Magic Plant, a documentary examining humanity’s evolving relationship with the cannabis plant, and the TV series AWAKEN, which delves into ancient and modern healing modalities for body, mind, spirit, and planet. For over a decade, Pete co-hosted and judged Australia’s highest-rating television show, My Kitchen Rules (11 seasons). He also created and produced two seasons of The Paleo Way — a 16-episode series featuring global health experts and delicious anti-inflammatory recipes — and hosted PBS’s award-winning Moveable Feast, exploring the world’s best chefs, local produce, and sustainable food stories. As one of Australia’s most published contemporary chefs, Pete has written around 25 cookbooks and lifestyle titles, many of which have become national bestsellers. A certified health coach through New York’s Institute of Integrative Nutrition, Pete is passionate about empowering people to take charge of their wellbeing through food and lifestyle choices. His Paleo Way 10-Week Program has supported over 100,000 participants globally, complemented by a growing range of wellness-focused products for both people and pets — from cookware and supplements to ready-made meals and natural pet food. Pete is deeply connected to nature and family. An avid surfer and ocean lover, he lives by the philosophy that food is medicine and that conscious living can transform every aspect of our health — physical, mental, and emotional. As a sought-after keynote speaker on nutrition, wellness, and sustainable living, Pete continues to inspire audiences around the world to eat well, live mindfully, and thrive naturally. His definition of Self Love is: Self love is loving all aspects of myself. His favourite quote is: BE YOU! Links to follow: Website: https://peteevans.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/chefpeteevans Books:  Healthy Food for Healthy Kids and The Primal Code Quotes: For me I do not deal with absolutes or truths. Be flexible and open minded for that change in the future even though you may firmly believe in something right now. If we want change, it is a choice! It is fascinating how one person’s death creates more awareness and noise rather than other people’s death. People are dying all the time. An invitation to ask the question what death is and what is my belief around death for myself, loved ones and others. I look at death from a different lens from what I once did. It is a beautiful space to hold, experience and hold energy in all aspects. Bitcoin is just mathematics. It is code, uncorruptible and ingeniously designed. I don’t like to deal with absolutes. I believe anything is possible based on your perceptions. Bitcoin seems to have manifested at a particular point in human history as an uncorruptible, at this particular point of time, solution to the financial energetic system that currently exists. I think that is worth exploring. We have the ability to live outside of a corrupted food system, if we choose to, to the best of our ability. We all have a choice. It has helped me over the last 5 years express who I am, creatively and it has been a gift in that respect and I have learnt a lot along the way. Hope looks to the future. It is projecting something that we may not have. What we have is now. We do not know how things will play out in the future for ourselves or collectively. My analogy for life is why do we want to know how things end. Stay in that mystery. Life is the most wonderful adventure. We get to choose how we create it. I trust that everything is going to be perfect in whatever way it manifests for me. Simply an invitation to “BE YOU”. An invitation is allowing that person to have agency or power to accept that invitation with a yes, no or maybe. An invitation gives me or the person the power to make the choice. When accept responsibility for our choices and actions then there is no one to blame or we cannot play the victim to the choices that we make. If not making a choice is making a choice.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. SLP 525: Self Love Quicky - Who Am I?

In this weeks quicky, Who am I? Kim explores the concept of identity beyond conventional labels and roles, sharing three practices to help you connect with your true self. She emphasises that the journey of self discovery is an ongoing process that evolves over time, encouraging you to embrace your inherent wholeness and the power to choose your identity daily. All the essential oils mentioned in this show can be found at www.twenty8.com. Don’t forget to use your Self Love Podcast special code below. Links to follow: Website: https://twenty8.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/twenty.8.essential/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/twenty8essentials Quotes: Who am I? A question so simple, yet so profound, it has the power to change the entire way you see yourself and your life. You are not your labels or roles. You are the being who experiences them. When the labels fall away, who would I still be? Use your core values as your compass. Values are not what I do, but what I stand for. When you ask, Who am I? Beneath the noise, a sense of truth and authenticity emerges and it can be something as simple as: I am love, I am enough, I am here. If you keep going past the surface layers, you begin to discover: I am resilient, I am light, I am possibility, I am becoming. There is the power of stillness. Stop searching and sit in the stillness. I am not my thoughts. You are not your roles. I am awareness itself. The question ‘Who am I?’ isn’t meant to be answered once. It is a living, evolving inquiry. At the core, you will find a thread of essence. The part of you that is timeless, whole and true. Each morning, body boost, place your hand on your heart and ask gently, “Who am I today”? Let the question be the compass to guide you back to home to yourself. Beyond the roles, beyond the expectations, beyond the noise. You are whole, you are love, and you are far greater than you have ever been told. You get to choose who you are every single day.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. They dive deep into themes of mental health, personal transformation, and the courage to live authentically. Pete shares how his career in food and television became a catalyst for inner growth, confronting insecurities, and learning to embrace both light and shadow. The conversation flows through his reflections on handling pain and challenge, gratitude in adversity and his unique approach to parenting. Allowing children the freedom to discover their own beliefs and purpose. Pete also opens up about how the COVID period reshaped his trust in intuition and alignment, sharing his perspectives on following inner guidance even amid public controversy.   About Pete: Starting work in his first commercial kitchen at just 13, Pete Evans’ passion for food quickly evolved into a lifelong career. Links to follow: Website: https://peteevans.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/chefpeteevans Quotes: Like everyone else on the planet I am going through a journey of getting to know who I am. We are everything and one at the same time. The further I go the more I love my quirkiness and uniqueness. Our unique identity is our superpower. Television was a great opportunity for me to grow and learn more about myself. One of my strengths is being open to it all. What you are looking for is what you are. Am I searching for something out there or am I searching for myself. Who am I? Do I need to seek? Or can I accept myself for everything that I am, that I always have been and always will be with unconditional love, trust and acceptance. Surrender to the fact that I am me and stop trying to be like others. All of us are mirrors for everyone else. Pain isn’t punishment. It is a message asking you to listen more deeply. Illnesses showing up, is our bodies way of saying your body is out of harmony. Slow down. This is your invitation to explore it! What have I done to upset the flow. Don’t try and turn our children into young versions of ourselves. Let them experience their uniqueness in this world. Get out of the way and just facilitate the basics of the responsibility of being a parent. Let them create their own belief systems. We inherit patterns and beliefs, but awakening begins when we question what we have been given. I observe these things with a lens of deep trust, deep acceptance and deep surrender. I do not want to be right to make someone wrong. Covid was an invitation to ask who I am? What am I am willing to experience in this co created reality. Intuition told me to speak up during this time without knowing the why. It was telling me that I am going to be a voice in this space. When we go against our intuition is when are in disharmony with ourselves. When we accept both the light and the shadow within us, we return to wholeness. We always go back to the question Who am I? What are my beliefs and where did I get this belief from? I am grateful for everything. What we focus on we attract more of. Where focus goes more energy flows. Everything is a choice. What do you want to focus on in your life? Our true purpose in this world is to discover who we are and express ourselves through the many tools, gifts that we either have, or we can remember or that we will learn in the future. Our ultimate superpower is the ability to be able to express ourselves creatively and to grow just like nature does. Be ourselves, unapologetically, is our masterpiece. By being yourself it is a mirror for others to do the same.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below. The Travelling Thermo

Wonderful conversation. Big aha around making my self love time sacred. I do different acts of selflove but I haven't made it sacred. If it is interrupted I allow it. Thankyou Kim and Dr Z, a stunning interview.
