God's gospel is not only recorded in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The good news is throughout the Bible and told in fascinating ways.
Each year we encourage you to find one place to connect and one place to serve. To do that effectively, Jesus says there is an obstacle to overcome to “hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold.” (Mark 4:20)
In this short hymn, the Lord invites all nations to praise Him because of his great love and faithfulness. “Praise the LORD, all nations! Extol him, all peoples! For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD!”
In Psalm 116, the Psalmist celebrates what the Lord has done for him – "For you have delivered my soul from death..." – and declares what he will do for the Lord – "I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord."
Psalm 115 comes with a warning– idolatry is a literal dead end. It also comes with a witness– trusting in God leads to life.
Pastor Dave returns as we continue our summer Psalms series with the sermon “Accept No Substitutes” from Psalm 113. The exalted, humble, redeeming God commands praise from everyone, everywhere. “Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and forevermore! From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the LORD is to be praised!” (vv. 2-3).
We continue our summer “Studies in the Psalms” series, picking up with Psalm 112. Dave Strausbaugh will preach the message “How To Be a Psalm 112 Person” as we explore what it means to fear God, delight in his word, and live lives marked by grace-motivated thankfulness, obedience and generosity. “Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in his commandments!” (v1).
Pastor Chris delivers our final message in the book of Romans! In chapter 16, Paul concludes the letter by greeting gospel partners and identifying gospel opponents of the Church, and praising God for motivating the Church through the gospel.
Patrick Lewis helps us look at three important takeaways from Romans 6, 8 and 12 to remember and to pass on to others.
Because of God’s love for us, we are motivated to worship him through accepting one another, and participating in building his kingdom. “Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.” (Rom. 15:7).Click here to view / download today's sermon notes: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YDkp_h6Keo81RD_MixvxuQWRmaY1-20o/view?usp=drive_link
One of the primary marks of Christian maturity is the ability to love people with whom we disagree. In Romans 14 and 15, Paul calls those who have experienced the grace of God to show it to others by refraining from passing judgement, laying down their freedom for the sake of others and graciously welcoming others.
Pastor Dave explores the relationship a Christian should have to the government and authorities from Romans 13.
We continue our series Onward Together with the sermon “Genuine Love in a Grace-Changed Church” from Romans 12:9-21.
In the kingdom of God, thoughtful service begins with renewed thinking, which promotes humble self-assessment, which motivates selfless gift deployment. “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” (vv. 1-2)
Marvel with us as Pastor Dave explores the grafting in of Gentiles and Jews into the same vine from Romans 11:11-36.
Ruling Elder Dave Strausbaugh preaches the message “God's Grace and a Faithful Remnant” from Romans 11:1-10. "I ask, then, has God rejected his people? By no means! ... God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew … So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace.” (vv. 1-2, 5).
Romans 10 indicates three essentials to saving faith: preaching, hearing and sending. Pastor Dave continues our series Onward Together with the message, "Never Beyond Hope" (Romans 10:14-21) "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ" (Romans 10:17).
Romans 10:9 contains one of the most glorious promises anywhere in scripture, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” What does faith in Christ entail and why do so many people fail to turn to him in faith? In Romans chapter 10, Paul helps us answer these questions, while inviting each of us to repent of our self-sufficiency and to receive a righteousness based on faith.
On this Easter Sunday, we celebrate the risen Lord – defender and friend to all who receive him, who believe in his name, who are welcomed into his family.
Palm Sunday marks Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, six days before he was crucified. The crowd’s acclamation of Jesus with palm waving was a revolutionary event, signaling the purpose for which he came, creating a pattern of living for his followers and proclaiming great hope for the world.
