Severed: The Ultimate Severance Podcast

WE'RE BACK TO THE RE-WATCH THIS WEEK, REFINER!!Interviews are fun, and we love talking to the folks who make 'Severance' so incredible, but, we should never forget, this podcast was built on insanely detailed rewatches!! This week we are getting back into the S2 complete 'Severed' Re-watch with PART ONE of "Sweet Vitriol."We have not heard or seen anything from Harmony Cobel since her very scary parking lot run-in with Helena Eagan and her gorilla of a driver in the episode "Who is Alive?" Guess what??!! Harmony made the trip to Salt's Neck! In this episode, we catch up with her out on the road. She's headed back to where she grew up. She's needing some things she left at home back when she was whisked away to be a star at the Myrtle Eagan School for Girls. This time out we meet up with Hampton at the Drippy Pot. He's one of Cobel's oldest and dearest friends. He's also in the grip of a massive ether addiction, much like the rest of this tiny and dilapidated town. Oh, and if you're in need of ether, Hampton can set you up. As Sissy calls him, he's a 'huff peddler.'Oh, yeah...Sissy. We're going to meet Harmony's Aunt Celestine 'Sissy' Cobel. She's Harmony's mother Charlotte's sister. Sissy does NOT have a warm spot in her heart for Harmony, Hampton or this backwards little town on the seashore where she feels trapped by her beliefs. Or, maybe she does still feel some kinship with Harmony...she's just not willing to show it.It's time to hop in the VW Rabbit and head for the chilly coast of P.E. as we open the file called "Sweet Vitriol." ARE YOU READY, REFINER? IT DOESN'T GET MUCH COOLER THAN THIS...The episode "Chikhai Bardo" blew a lot of people away when it premiered as the 7th episode of the second season. A brand new leader was in the Director's Chair but she was a familiar face to both cast and crew. This is Cinematographer Jessica Lee Gagne's first foray into directing. Based on the incredible success of this episode, she'll probably never be a cinematographer again. We're going back in time with a blushing Mark and Gemma. We'll see how they met and fell in love. We'll ALSO venture down to the 'Testing Floor' where a very alive Gemma is being subjected to bizarre tortures by Robby Benson and Sandra Bernhard. Would you rather have a cozy little gathering at a friend's house, or maybe a meet up at a well-known local Chinese place? Either way, this week we've got you covered on 'Severed'!Outie-Irv has accepted an invite for an evening of Ham and Wine at Outie-Burt's place. This will be the first time Irving has met Burt's significant other: Fields. It's also our first chance to meet the elusive Fields. He has some interesting information to impart, if he doesn't pass out first! We also get a chance to tour the incredible home of Burt and Fields. In reality, it's the Gerald Luss house in Ossinging, NY. We will get WAY into it!!Over at "Zufu", a favorite joint in Kier for Chinese, outie-Mark Scout is trying to curb his reintegration appetitte. As he's feeding his face, Helena Eagan walks in. She has a seat at a booth...all alone. Helena may have had plans other than dinner when she followed Mark Scout into this place. She's quite the aggressive one!! Helena does her best to seduce a confused Mark Scout, but it doesn't work.The meeting at the restaurant prompts Mark to take some serious action regarding his chip. Reghabit 'floods the chip' and Mark can't handle it. We leave him passed out in his livingroom with Devon and Reghabi trying to rouse him. It does not look good.You're okay with Cumin, right?? Good.
